This Is Bad... Very Bad!

"Karasu! Bring me up." Rem ordered, summoning Karasu.

"Understood, Master." Karasu grabbed Rem's right hand and flew up.

Up in the sky, Rem could see the whole city. A few miles away from the city gate, Rem could see an army of monsters running towards the city.

'003, calculate how many monsters there are over there. You may estimate.'

{Caluculating... Calculating... Calculating... Calculating completed! There are currently around half a million monsters coming this way.}

'What??! Even if I'm strong, I can't defeat that many without them entering the city! Urgh... what species of monsters are there?'

{To name a few, there are many types of Orcs, Goblins, Slimes, Wolves, Lizardmen, and many races of beasts that can fly such as the Eagles and Falcons.}

'Aren't the Eagles and Falcons supposed to be friendly monsters?'

{Yes, they are but I can detect dark magic in these monsters. With your current powers, you can't get fight all of them. Someone or something is definitely controlling these monsters.}

'It can't be a person controlling all these monsters... Even if they are very skilled and have many people controlling these monsters, they can't possibly control this many unless they have tens of thousands of skilled people. It has to an item that's controlling them. 003, can you locate where all the controlling is coming from?'

{No, I can't. Even if I can, I wouldn't tell you because you will be endangered if you try and stop whatever is causing all these monsters to become like this. You're the host. I can't endanger the host.}

{Did I mention that there're also demons? I'm 99% sure the demons are involved in this. I advise you to get away from this city as soon as possible.}

'Demons??? Why would the demons be involved in this? I read all the books in the school library so as far as I know, there isn't any war going on. The last war was a few hundred years ago!'

"Master, what should I do now?" Karasu asked, waiting for Rem's command.

"...Bring me to the center of the city," Rem ordered.

"Understood." Karasu brought Rem to where she wanted to go.

Rem jumped down. There were many people there.

"Who are you? Shoo! We have to create a barrier!!!" One of the men said, shooing Rem away.

"I'll help." Rem offered.

"You? Help? Who are you kidding? What do a kid like you know?" Another man asked, sounding annoyed.

"Yeah, just get out of our way!" One of the women yelled.

Master, why do you want to help them? You don't even know these people.

'I'm not sure...'

"Rem! There you are! Let's get shelter at the academy!!!" Karina yelled from across the street.

Karina, Yukino, Yukio, and Kaito were across the street.

"...Alright, coming!" Rem ran towards Karina and the others.

"That's right! You better get out of our way, you punk!!!" The man yelled angrily.

Rem glanced at Yukino, who still looked indifferent.

"What were you doing with these people?" Kaito asked, looking at the pissed-off men and women in white cloaks.

"Nothing, I was just about to tell you guys that more than half a million monsters are coming this way." Rem stated.

"There are what??!" Karina thought she misheard.

"I thought there were only about 100,000 monsters. At least that's what they told us. 100,000 is already bad. If there are really half a million monsters, we're doomed." Kaito said as he sighed.

Yukio still looked troubled and worried about his twin sister and this whole situation.

"C'mon Rem, let's go to the academy for now. We can think of a better plan later." Karina suggested.

"You guys can go to the academy." Rem said, about to leave.

"Where are you going?" Kaito asked, feeling that Rem was going to do something bad.

"These monsters are being controlled. I'm just going to find what's controlling all these monsters." Rem said.

"No, don't! It's dangerous. I know you're strong but you can't just do that by yourself! There are half a million monsters out there!!" Karina said worriedly.

"Just go to the academy. I'll be back."

Karasu grabbed Rem's right arm and flew her towards the huge army of monsters.
