Rewards

A boy holding a spear came out from behind the trees.

'Isn't he the other team's leader? I wonder why he hid his appearance... Was he the one who ordered the green-haired boy to poison the twins..? What was his name again?' Rem asked.

'I just don't remember names of people that are not significant.' Rem argued.

{I believe his name was Ray.}

'Hm...' Rem observed the boy.

"Give me the flag," Ray demanded.

"No thank you." Rem didn't want to waste any more time.

"Fine." Ray activated his magic and shadow surrounded Rem.

'He uses shadow magic?' Rem stayed still and inspected Ray's stats.

'He's the first person I've met that could use two elements..!' Rem was amused.

Ray suddenly appeared in front of Rem in a blink of an eye. He tried to stab Rem's arm.

'Ah... He's the fastest person I've ever encountered...' Rem dodged Ray's attacks.

Every second Ray's speed became faster and faster.

'Too fast..!' Rem ended up getting stabbed but the spear went through Rem

"What..?" Ray was confused because he didn't feel himself land a hit on Rem.

"Impressive... Nice try." Rem used her shadow magic to create chains that bound Ray.

Ray tried getting out of the chains but it was no use. The chains wouldn't budge.

"You can stay here while I put that flag on the mountain. See you." Rem left Ray bound in the forest and ran to the top of her team's mountain.

She put the flag on the mountain. Suddenly, words appeared in the sky. The words were created with fireworks.

'I guess we won... How come I didn't see that person from the other team..? I've seen the invisible person, the two girls, and their team leader. Something's fishy here...'

"We won..!" Yukino didn't expect her team to win.

"Of course we won." Kaito was confident that they would win.

Everyone got teleported back to the real world. Rem looked at the leaderboard.

"I announce that the champions of this tournament are... Ver!!!" The man yelled in an excited tone.

"What? Dark Knights didn't win this tournament?"

"They never had a chance against Ver! Their team is so strong! Especially their team leader. Didn't you see them fight?"

"Haha! Dark Knights finally lost their streak!"

"Ver! Ver! Ver!"

The crowd cheered while some were either shocked or amazed.

"The principal shall now speak." The man said sternly.

Everyone went silent.

"First of all..! I am grateful to everyone who has participated in this tournament! Congratulations to the top three teams! I will now give the rewards to each team, starting with the third-ranked team. Spades, please come to the middle of this stadium.

Everyone from Spades walked up to the middle of the stadium.

"The third-ranked team will receive a personal training room. You will receive ten gold coins."

"The second-ranked team will receive a personal training room as well. It will be larger. You will each receive thirty gold coins."

"The first ranked team will receive a personal training room. It will be the largest out of the others. This team now has the privilege to use and go to every part of this school, including the secret library. Each one of you will also receive a badge and with your team symbol. You can choose how the badge would look like. As long as the requests you make are reasonable and possible, I will personally help you. Additionally, you will each receive fifty gold coins."

"Don't any of you dare complain about the rewards! Take it or leave it. The top three teams, please come to the back of the stadium to receive your rewards."

Just as Rem was about to leave to the back of the stadium, a group of people appeared in front of her.

"What is it?" Rem asked.

"Make way, make way!" A familiar voice said.

"Oh, it's you." Rem said indifferently.

"Yes... It was unfortunate that the team I was in was eliminated before we could even get the chance to fight you." Michael said sadly.

"Yeah! We didn't even get to fight you yet!" The muscular boy Rem met the other day said.

"When you have time, come to the fighting place and fight us, okay?" Michael was curious about Rem's strength.

"Sure. I have to go now. Bye." Rem waved, walking towards the back of the stadium.

"Also, congrats on being ranked first in this tournament!" Michael yelled.

"Thanks..." Rem replied.

"Who were they?" Karina asked.

"Just a few people I've met in the infirmary." Rem replied.

"I see... Anyways, I can't believe we won... First place!!!" Karina said excitedly.

"All that training was worth it..!" Yukino stated.

Yukio nodded in agreement.

"Don't think you can slack off even though we got first place." Rem said sternly.

"Yes, yes... This is a new side of Remie..!" Karina sighed, thinking about all the training she would have to go through.

"Now that the top three teams have arrived, here are your rewards. First, all of you guys will receive a training room. The higher your rank, the larger and better quality your training room will be. One for each team of course. Spades would each receive ten gold coins. Dark Knights would each receive thirty gold coins and Ver would each receive fifty gold coins." The principal handed a bag of coins to each team, according to their team's rank.

"Here's the key to the third-ranked team's training room." The principal handed a key to the leader of Spades.

"Here's the key to the second-ranked team's training room." The principal handed a key to the leader of Dark Knights.

"Here's the key to the first ranked team's training room." The principal smiled at Rem and handed her the key.

"Thank you." Rem took the key.

"Tell me when you decided how your team's badge would look like. If you want to go anywhere in this school, use this card." The principal handed a card to every member of Ver.

"Alright." Rem looked at her card.

The card was silver-colored and it had Rem's name on it as well.

'This card looks exactly like a credit card except it only has the black line at the bottom and my name...' Rem put the card and key into her inventory without anyone noticing.

"I was shocked to see how much you all have improved." The principal said, walking towards Rem.

"I was finally able to see a little bit of what you can do, Rem. I can see that you have trained everyone in your team very well. Thank you for teaching my son." The principal smiled and put her right hand in front of Rem, indicating that she wanted a handshake.

"You're welcome." Rem replied, shaking her hand.

A few unfriendly, jealous gazes were towards Rem. After getting a handshake from Rem, the principal left the stadium.

"Wow... You got a handshake from the principal..!" Karina was shocked the principal wanted a handshake.

"That's not a big deal." Rem said casually.

"It is! Barely anyone would receive a handshake from the principal!" Yukino stated.

"Oh, okay. By the way, are you guys free right now?" Rem asked.

It was almost 7 p.m.

"Yeah." The four replied at the same time.

"Then let's go celebrate by going to a buffet! I found a pretty good place for us to eat. Of course, I'll pay so eat as much as you want." Rem said.

"Wow! Really??? Let's go!!!" Karina was very excited since she has never been to a buffet with anyone before.

'Getting revenge for my friends can wait till midnight. For now, we should celebrate.' Rem thought.

After a few minutes of walking, they finally arrived at the restaurant.

"Is this the place?" Yukino asked.

"Yes, come in. I've already reserved a spot for 5 seats." Rem said.

"It looks so fancy..." Karina was shocked.

"Enter already." Rem entered the restaurant.

When they sat down, Rem ordered a few drinks and food. Although it was a buffet, there were waiters who would serve the drink and food to the customer since this restaurant is expensive and fancy.

"Cheers!" Rem held her drink up in the air.

"Cheers..?" Karina was confused.

"What is cheers?" Yukino asked.

Yukio tilted his head.

"I've never heard of that before," Kaito stated.

"I came from a place far away from here. You probably don't know it. From where I came from, we would hold our cups in the air, bump the cups together and say cheers. We would always do that when we celebrate." Rem explained.

"I see." Kaito held his cup in the air.

'When have I did this before..? Why do I even remember this? I have a feeling that I've done this before with other people... I can't remember their faces..! Urg, my head!' Rem put her hand on her head.

"Are you alright, Remie..?" Karina asked worriedly.

"Yes, I'm fine." Rem answered.

"Okay..." Karina held her cup in the air.

Yukino and Yukio held their cups in the air as well.

"Cheers!" The five said as they bumped their cups together.
