Chapter 22

One if the medics told him to lie back down, and put the mask on him, also mentioning that he was the worst looking one their, with all his cuts and bruises and other injuries. Oliver sat next to him, holding one of his hands with both of his, and Harley on the other, holding his other with one of hers. They had said he would be put under when they got to the hospital. He smiled at Ann, who sat on air in front of him, and knew he would tell his friends about her soon. Actually....now would be a good time. The engine was running and the car was speeding away. "I have something to tell the both of you." Harley took off his mask so they could hear him properly. "I can see Ann right now." His friends exchanged worried glances. "No, no, I'm not crazy, I promise. And I've been able to see her since I woke up after slamming into the wall." Another worried glance. "Ok, stop that! I'm saying I see her ghost. And I know you think I'm crazy, or that I just have a bad concussion. But it's true. She's here. And she can't pass on into the afterlife, so she's bound to follow me around, and I can talk to her, she's really here, I swear-" Oliver silenced him with another kiss. "I don't think your crazy. One of my friends died and I could hear him talking to me at the funeral." Harley brushed a piece of his hair back. "I don't think your crazy, either, because I've seen ghosts, too. And your my brother. So I'll believe your word." "And if anyone else calls you crazy-" Oliver started, smiling. The two of them finished the sentence together. "We'll fuck them up so hard, that they'll be insane!" He laughed, as did the three others, and loved this moment. He would cherish it forever. "As fun as you bitches are, I'm tired. I think I'll take a nap." Ann smiled. "Typical. Before you do that, though, I want to tell you something. Keep that knife. Don't let the cops take it as evidence." He gave a small nod. Oliver put the mask on him, and he drifted off slowly, glad to know his father was dead, and his mother was either dead, too, or getting a life sentence.

He woke up once the doors opened. The doctors rushed him to an OR, telling his friends to wait in a certain room. Then, they put him under.

Once again, his eyelids slowly opened, and he found himself in a hospital bed, with Oliver to his right, both of his hands holding one of Jack's again, and Harley to his left, a hand on his shoulder, woth Ann in front of him, still smiling. He remembered what she'd said earlier. "Wait-the knife....where...?" "I've got it. You mumbled something about it in your sleep, and how Ann said something, so I took it so the doctors wouldn't find it." Harley told him, pointing to her bag in her seat. He nodded. "Thank you." Oliver removed a hand to cup his cheek. "How are you feeling, babe?" "Good." Then, it hit him. "Did they find her? Is she in prison?" Oliver nodded. "I still don't understand what..." But Jack shook his head, and glanced at Harley, telling him she shouldn't know. It would only freak her out more. "Their reason was for trying to kill us." He finished with a lie. "We didn't do anything." "Excuse us, but is this Jack's room?" Two older people came in, looking to be in their thirties, one male and one female. The female had Ann's hair, and skin, wearing a coat that reminded him of a dective's, paired witb black leggins, and heeled boots. The man had blonde hair, and Ann's eyes, with the same pinkish skin she had. He wore a red plaid shirt and jeans with workboots. He knew them as Ann's parents. They had come to visit him.
