Mom didn’t come home yet. I thought to make a call to her and ask her if she was coming back home or not. I was about to dial her number when my phone started ringing; it was mom calling.
“Hello,” I picked the phone and said.
“What are you doing, Sid? Have you eaten your lunch?” she asked.
“Yes, I have. When are you going to come back?” I asked.
“I don’t think I can return today. It’s quite a serious situation here; your uncle has decided to take a divorce; we are just trying to sort out the things,” she replied.
“Okay, no problem. Take your time, mom,” I said.
“What would you eat for dinner?” she asked worryingly.
“Don’t worry, mom. I will manage,” I tried to lessen her concern.
“Are you sure?” she asked.
“Yes, mom, I am not a kid anymore,” I assured her.
“Okay, I will call you tomorrow then,” she replied.
