Chapter 84

Dr. Henry had carried out a full body check-up on the Luna the previous day just to be sure before he could take any other step. He was glad that the medicine had helped her.

He was now taking off the respiratory machine that was attached to her since last week thanks to a crisis that befell her. The whole incident was still vivid in everyone's mind.

Last week, Malia experienced a life-threatening crisis when she lost the ability to breathe on her own, and thanks to that, she experienced.......

Last week, the day of the crisis

Dawson had gone into her room to check on her for his daily checks, and found her like that; bouncing on the bed while struggling to breathe.

He called Alex immediately thank God because he was already on his way come because of a document that they needed to discuss with Daniel. When Dawson relayed the life-threatening situation, Alex asked whether he had called the doctor only for Dawson to say know because he had called the Alpha out of reflex.

Alex then called Dr. Henry and asked him to rush him home. He then told Daniel who was in the car with him.

Alex was distraught and beyond scared. He continuously asked whoever it is that reigned above everything to protect his better half because he sure as hell didn't know to go on without her.

Daniel on the other hand was begging him to come down as he made promises that he wasn't sure would be fulfilled. It was more like he was convincing himself too because he couldn't stand a different version of the Alpha again. It had taken everyone close to three years to watch the Alpha come to terms with the massacre of the pack members.

As soon as Marcus stopped at the entrance, the Alpha jumped out of the car. Daniel thanked Marcus and followed the Alpha inside. He had held onto Alex tightly because he was sure that he was trying to jump out of the car while it was on the road severally.

He couldn't agree any less because running in wolf form would have gotten them to the Alpha's penthouse faster than the car, but he couldn't imagine the problems that would follow after that.

Since he could only access his home through the elevator, Alex was angrier wishing it could go faster although it was already one of the fastest. "Calm down, Alpha. The Luna is going to be fine." Daniel continued assuring Alex

But Alex wasn't confident in anything anymore "She can't die, Daniel. I... I can't lose Malia" his voice cracked at the end and it pained Daniel to see his best friend like this.

"You won't lose her, Alpha. I am sure that this would pass" Daniel assured him while holding his shoulder.

"ding" came the sound of the elevator signaling that it had reached. Alex ran out of it to Malia's room taking two steps at a time "she can't die she can't die" he continued to mumble the words to himself

When he entered her room and saw her struggling, a tear escaped Alex's hold it dropped to his cheek. He went close to her not knowing where to touch her because he was scared "Baby," he called out in hopes that she would hear his voice and calm down. "Princess... baby, I am here. Please, stop scaring me, Luna"

All his pleasure fell on deaf ears because she continued to bounce on the bed until he held her when he saw that she was almost falling off.

Doctor Henry soon arrived and found Alex hugging a struggling Malia and he tapped him on his shoulders so he could let her go, Alex growled in his face instead.

"woa woa" Dr. Henry raised his hands in surrender "I will need to treat her," he said carefully

"Please, Alpha, let her go" Alex finally laid her back on the bed grateful that she was calmer

Dr. Henry went closer to try and check her pulse only to get more growls from Alex. As soon as he had touched her, the convulsions started again, and this time they were stronger than the previous. And just like that, Alex's wolf that had been kept at bay for so long took over baring its teeth at Dr. Henry as if to tell him to choose between death and saving his mate.

Dawson and Daniel had never seen the Alpha like this; it was scary and painful at the same time.

Daniel decided to call Cross and Old man Eliot over for backup because as things looked, it seemed that the Alpha was going to shift, and looking as if it was only him and Dawson, and his panting mate who had just arrived, he believed that they couldn't handle him.

Dr. Henry looked at Daniel as if begging him to kindly remove the Alpha from the room because he was sure that he wouldn't be able to work with an angry wolf baring its teeth at him.

Amber was already in tears after seeing her friend like that. Fear had gripped her and she stood halted in one place since she arrived. Daniel was pained to see her like that but he couldn't release the Alpha from his hold.

"Amber," Daniel called out to his mate. She turned to look at him "It's alright, my love. Your best friend is going to be fine"

After seeing that Daniel was absent-minded, Alex broke free. He wanted to be with his mate and he didn't like her being pricked by another male. Thank reflex, Daniel grabbed his leg, and that is when Cross and Old man Eliot came in.

Alex didn't like the fact that someone had held his leg, so he turned. Everyone could feel the sound of bones breaking, and before the whole process could complete, Cross threw a chain and the four men pulled him out of the room.

The Alpha's wolf form was huge and scary, not forgetting the midnight black color that it possessed.

After much struggle, Alex was finally taken into his copping room with Dawson doing everything the way Alex normally did by turning on the switch.
