"Amber. Mr. Harold is calling for us" Amber was nudged by one of the girls she was standing next to.
They all went to Mr. Harold's office, where they were called. On their way to the office, the other girls were excited, and they talked about how Mr. Lambert was generous with his tips after what they had made the last time he was here.
Amber only sneered, thinking of how the girls were willing to go to any extent just to make a little extra money.
When they got into Mr. Harold's office, he asked the last girl to close the office door. "I believe you all know the drill, and since Amber is the only new one, I will still repeat the instructions. Aside from serving the guests food and drinks, you will also serve other things they need in exchange for some money."
After saying that, Mr. Harold looked at Amber to gauge her reaction, but he was pleased to see that she was on board. He believed that all girls working in the restaurant were greedy for money and that they would do anything for a bit of pocket change.
"Whatever you hear in that room should remain in that room unless you want to end up like Enid. Let's go out now and not keep our guests waiting," Mr. Harold instructed
Amber was sure to find out whatever had happened to the so-called Enid. As they moved towards the private room, Amber decided to ask one of the girls about what had happened to Enid and what she had done to warrant it.
After listening to the story, she felt a cold chill run down her spine; apparently, she was shot in the head by Mr. Lumbert after she had rejected his advances and threatened him with the police.
Amber was scared, but the mission needed to be completed. She was tired of working in the restaurant; today would be the last day. She just needed to achieve the task, and it would be the last time she saw the greedy Mr. Harold. She was tired of his perverted ways and how he constantly made passes at the girls. Amber believed that he might have slept with most of the girls who worked in the restaurant.
"Mr. Ford is willing to pay more as long as you are willing to vacate the land" Daniel had traveled to negotiate for a piece of land up North. He wanted to get the whole thing done so he could return to the city to deal with Amber's mission.
He trusted Andy and Cross, but he couldn't himself but worry. What if something went wrong and she shifted in self-defense, or what if someone found out about their mission and she got killed. Daniel wanted to check for time on his wristwatch but didn't want to appear impatient before Mr. Maxwel.
Daniel felt like breaking his neck when the old man started making up stories of how his family came to own the piece of land. The land belonged to wolves for as long as he can remember, but thanks to the hunters who stole it and later sold it to different people. Finally, thanks to the influence of the Alpha as the wealthiest businessman, they were able to acquire three-quarters of their home, and they are now remaining with the one being occupied by Mr. Maxwel.
"I won't sell my land. Tell Mr. Ford to come here himself," came the smug voice of the old fool.
Daniel could just break off his neck, and no one would trace it back to him. Looking at how the old man spoke proudly, Daniel could only guess who was helping him puff his boneless chest.
"For someone sitting on stolen property, you sure have the nerve to call on the owner to come and find you" Daniel was done being polite with the old fool.
Seems like Mr. Maxwel knew little of the gist about the piece of land he was sitting on because Daniel spotted a little guilt reflecting in his eyes. It was there for a split second, but Daniel noticed it.
"You want Mr. Ford to find you, Mr ford shall find you. Please, enjoy this freedom for as long as it can last" Daniel had humbled himself enough, but the fool was playing hide and seek of words with him. He stood up and kicked the seat he was on backward. 'How annoying'
"Bring the car," Daniel spoke into the phone. He had perceived the smell of people hiding, and it seemed like they were waiting to attack him as long as he left to slope down the hill to get the car.
He didn't want to disobey the Alpha, who had warned him about bloodshed. Otherwise, he could quickly kill all those hiding, regardless of their number. So when the car arrived, Daniel picked a stone and threw it in the direction where one of Mr. Maxwel's delinquents was hiding, and much to his satisfaction, a scream was heard.
". You seem not to know the great slogan before the war. All of them are no match for me" He winked at Mr. Maxwel and got into the car.
Mr. Maxwel was puzzled, wondering how the young man had known. "Come out," he shouted for his men to come out.
He was really a stupid man not to have known the history of the land that he hand occupied. So the men came out and were indeed a bunch of useless delinquents, just as Daniel had thought.
"What is the slogan of war," One of them asked, making Mr. Maxwel look at him with a sneer
"I don't think it's one," Another echoed. He was at least an intelligent though
"Do not underestimate your opponent," Came a voice from another man. He seemed older than them. Maybe the same as Mr. Maxwel
"Does that mean that we had underestimated the man that just left? If so, thank God that we didn't get to attack.
"Useless," Mr. Maxwel said as he entered his house. Which type of people did he collect to work for him.
On his way back to the city, Daniel received a call from Cross, who gave him an update on how things were going at the restaurant. Daniel breathed a sigh of relief after knowing that his mate was safe. She had managed to place a recorder in the room, and none of the men had discovered it. Also, thanks to the camera she was wearing as a pin, they could get the faces of the different men.
