Chapter 15

"Check, even my foodstuff is all dirty because of that monster" Malia felt the loss and couldn't help but complain to her friend. She had used her little money to shop for enough foodstuff to take them over a week. Looking down, she saw the beef on the floor. Her tears flowed a little for her loss.

Amber could only shake her head and smile. How can someone be this simple and carefree after what she has gone through? She still had the mind to think about food. Holding Malia's arm, Amber pulled her towards the main road to hail a taxi.

Malia, whose heart had remained behind with her foodstuff, could only look back. How did her beautiful day change to this? She only wanted to buy foodstuff and cook for her friend. Was the man who held her a psycho? Why did he hold onto her with a knife around her throat and only release her after the police showed up? Was he waiting for the police?

The endless questions were ringing endlessly in her mind. The whole situation didn't make sense to her. The man followed her from the market area until he grabbed her when she almost crossed the road and then surrendered to the police freely. Looking at her wrinkled blouse, she stamped her feet on the ground and angrily puffed her cheeks. What kind of luck was following her around.

"Where is your pretty mind at, princess?" Malia was nudged by Amber, who realized that she wasn't paying attention to her.

The two girls walked towards the main street to get a taxi home. While in the taxi, Amber continuously asked Malia if she was okay. She wondered about the mental strength that her friend possessed. Another gal would be crying at this point; she had just gone through a life and death situation, but she wasn't holding onto it.

Amber didn't know that Malia was still shaken, but because she learned to mask all her emotions to appear more robust because no one had been there for her before, she could only hold it in. She didn't know how to appear fragile in front of others. Malia was grateful that at this moment, Amber was beside her. She wanted to cry, too, but she couldn't bring herself to do so. Amber was really nice, and she feared becoming a burden.

"You know that you can tell me anything, right?" Amber could see that her friend wasn't okay, but she wasn't letting her in. She could only ask, hoping that Malia would open up to her. She looked happy on the outside, but her eyes showed pain.

Moments later, the taxi was at the apartment building. Amber held her friend, and they headed to the elevator. Malia asked Amber what they would have for dinner inside the elevator, and Amber told her not to worry about it.

Once inside the house, Amber pushed Malia to have her bath. As Malia went to have a bath, Amber decided to order for grocery and some foodstuff through express delivery. She wanted to make some hot pot for her friend.

Malia dressed causally and headed to the living room to sit down. Scrolling through her phone, she found a message from her new boss from the cafe telling her not to come in today because they had closed for a week due to some maintenance work. Malia was glad but still felt terrible. She wanted to earn more money as early as possible. But her current situation wasn't stable to be working. So she could only reply with an okay and a promise to report during the following week.

Amber saw Malia sleeping on the couch as she walked towards the door to receive the grocery. She might have been tired fall asleep at this hour. After picking up the delivery and signing, Amber picked up a little blanket, covered Malia, and positioned her to sleep comfortably.

While chopping vegetables, she heard the sound of the bell and headed to the door. Looking at the camera, she saw Daniel, her boyfriend; she was so happy while opening the door. Amber had missed him, indeed. After opening the door, she jumped into his arms only to see Alpha Alex looking at them, and she shyly lowered herself down. Daniel could only smile when he saw her shy face and the blush on her face.

Bowing her head in respect, "Alpha. Please come in."

The two men entered inside, but Amber told them to be quiet since Malia slept on the couch.

'She is here' A light bulb lit up in Alpha Alex's head. Looking at her sleeping peacefully, he could only feel how lucky he was. "she is so beautiful."

Daniel, who was close to the Alpha, asked him if he had said anything. Alex shook his head now. He wasn't ready to tell anyone that she was his mate. But, as he looked at her, he felt all these little tingles on his body. It had been forever since he felt such a feeling, and he was ready for it this time. 'You are mine,' He thought as he headed to the seat opposite. He wanted to look at her more.

The beta and his mate looked at the Alpha weirdly; he had never looked at any girl with interest for over eleven years. "Does he know her?" Amber nudged her mate. As confused as her, Daniel could only lift his shoulder in confusion.

The more they looked at him, the more they became confused. Amber could only pull Daniel to the kitchen to help her with the cooking. Looking at him beside her felt like a dream, especially with what he had gone through. Daniel diligently washed the fruits, not knowing what was going through his mate's mind.

Amber went and gave him a back hug and breathed in his scent. She was so happy that he was her man. The fact that the moon goddess gave him to her as a mate was the cherry on top of her happiness.

"We should be cooking, my love" Daniel, who was all smiles loved his girl. He placed the vegetable back in the sink and turned to look at her. He knew exactly what was going on in her mind. Her emotions were twirling all over her body, and he could only hug her back. "I am fine, and I will be for quite some time, my love, okay." He tapped her nose, and she just smiled in reply.

"No, no, no..... please don't kill me.... please, I want to be happy....."
