Fatal countdown.

He let out a smirk and looked at the dark sky. "You won't". He scoffed and looked back at me. "You have at least eight more hours but your salvation depends on your answer to my three questions. The final one is the most important". He said and stood over my partial lifeless corpses, grinning down on me as I could see a rare flash of his blood shot red eyes, glaring down on me. "Are you ready to begin? He asked and I signaled yes with a nod. "Excellent. Are you a ghoul? He asked and I felt a bit disgusted by his question, as though he didn't know and wanted to hear me say it. I gambled a bit but had no choice in this one. "Yes". I muttered with every word being a struggle. "Good! Are you Simon Ichigo? He asked and hesitated a bit but finally brought myself to answer. "Yes". "final and most important question. Will you come with me to go see the princess". He grinned and I had a bad feeling about this one. Naturally, I did know that ghouls eat ghouls, because I have spent a couple of hours running from them. I also know that ghouls have cult and some kind of union group but let's leave that for another day.

I couldn't bring myself to trust him and take his words for it. I managed to get up on my feet, the hurting stop and quiet down but I know the next one might be worse. I got up and glared across the empty construction site as though I was searching for something then muttered. "I can't trust you. Why should I trust you?! I snapped, moving backward and preparing for a possible chase. "huh? Because you need to. Plus, a ghoul like can't survive here alone". He muttered and I disagreed. I totally wasn't falling for that crap and hesitated in follow them. "In that case, I have not intention bring you along. But the again…". He paused and looked at his distant partner, who stood in the corner to keep watch and back at me. "That wasn't a question, it was actually an order". He snapped and pulled against my neck. Lifting me up and attempting to strangle me. "I'll beat you to it, even if I have to". He snapped and I could feel the seriousness in his voice and the red feeling of death in his eyes.

He kept muttering out words that to me made no sense, urging me to follow him but kept refusing as his grip tightened against my neck. I heard his partner walk out the shadows and mutter something to him."Rin, remember the queen needs him alive not dead". She said and I could tell from her voice that she was female. He looked at her, still hands to my throat and having me up in mid air. "I know, but what's the harm in a little fun". He grinned at her and immediately heard a slash sound across his fingers. The splattering of blood against his face as I had grease his throat with my knife. He paused and touched his wound, it healed immediately as though some kind of regeneration power was poured on his body.

Clinically, that was how ghouls were, they can regeneration each part lost but it's all to the limit of how well they ate. Strength and healing came from food, Kagune relied on the food of the ghoul to survived and thrive in every attack. "Not bad kid". The man ghoul laughed and looked back at me as I stepped back in fear, clutching onto my knife. "but if you want to make a man bleed, this's how you do it". He snapped and let his Kagune fly at me. I barely could move a muscle as it crash me into the walls. Creating a dust filled atmosphere and having make pour out another scoop of blood. I held my chest as it hurt so badly, then glance a look to see that he wasn't standing in his position any more. My eyes widened I felt him souring behind me in mid air. Before I could even move, I felt the sting of a kick to my back. I kept rolling until I crash against the pillars of the construction site.

I had to hide as blood kept splattering from my mouth, I groaned in pain and agony but instead heard the laughter of a manic. How was I expected to beat some one like him, huh? Perhaps I should run. I thought to myself on what to do and decided to make a run for it, to the near window and jump off. I hurried off immediately, running to the window when I fell over. Something gripped my ankle and drew me backward. It was Rin's Kagune and it knocked me over the walls, pillars and rock hard floor before wiping me against the pile of blocks. I couldn't take this anymore, I was clearly on the brink of death. I needed to do something and fast, I shrugged myself up. Hurting and spilling out blood from my mouth. "Give it up kid, even in a thousand years, you can't defeat me". He said and pulled in closer. I glared at him in disgust and anger, but he was right. He was very strong and was right set on killing me and having me for breakfast. "last chance, come with us or I'll murder you here and now! He screamed and his Kagune pulled itself out even further, dancing around his back. I was on my knees now and needed to break out a plan from everything. Besides me were the shattered pile of blocks, just a quick glance at it and an idea came to mind.

I grabbed a couple of shattered brick and threw it at him, he slapped it away from his path, in middle air but I kept throwing more and more, with full aim for his red ghoulish eyes. Moving in different directions as I threw them and strategically moving in closer. He kept slapping the stones off but not knowing that I was very much closer to him now. I wait swinged out my knife and waited for him to block his own central vision by slapping off the stones. Immediately he did, I pulled my knife in closer aiming for his heart. I paused as I got closer, glaring into his eyes as my knife paused close to his chest. I let out another splatter of blood as I looked down to figure out that Rin had purged his Kagune into my stomach. For sure I was going to die now, I fell over on my knees and heard my bones crushing against each other. It hurt and worst was no food to help regenerate. I groaned and grunt myself to a ball shape, coughing out blood and have a blurry vision. I threw my face up to look at Rin as he stared down at me. He seemed a bit impressed about some thing and cared to share it. "Had no idea you could hold this long? Really…? You fight terribly but that last move was quite clever, though an amateur might fall for it but not me". He muttered and I ignored him, I was more worried of my life now than the last few seconds. I struggled to raise my body up as my stomach had a rip in it, the thought of me dying came to my head and the thought of me having a second chance to leave as a ghoul, also came to my head. But in the end I get to die either as a human or a ghoul, nothing will change. I still will get eaten by either Rin or his cruel gang or princess. Nothing have or will change, I'll still die a fool's death. Except… "Hel-p me, please". I let out a low moan and crashed myself on the floor. I guess I was gone for and this was it. Time to kiss the world goodbye and have nothing else in my memory except the happiness I once had before all this. I had my vision blur off slowly at the sight of Rin, offering me liquid substance. "Don't die".
