Awakening

As I open my eyes, close them again with all my strength, I suddenly realize that I hurt all over! I feel huge aches in every part of my body, the pain is so strong that I find myself completely petrified. I don't control anything, no muscle responds to me, in this state I am just as incapable of forming the slightest coherent thought, only agony invades my mind.

The terror then comes to replace the confusion in me so quickly and so strongly that it eclipses the pain for a moment, I wake up unable to think, my body refusing to move and I could easily have believed in a nightmare if the the pain that was going through me was not that intense, too intense, much more than I can bear and very quickly everything goes black again.

When I wake up again I don't know how long I've been frozen like this but darkness has now replaced the light I can see it even through my closed eyelids but I don't feel any improvement and I don't put not long to pass out again.

The light is again perceptible under my eyelids and even if I am not sure, it seems to me that the pain is less strong. I don't know if I'm starting to get used to this pain or if it has really diminished, but honestly the difference is almost negligible and I'm not sure I'm making up this difference to see hope that it will get better soon .

I have now lost count of the cycles of lights and shadows that I have perceived, when one alternates between unconsciousness and torture, it is difficult to have the notion of time. However I am awake longer and longer between each fainting and I am starting to be more lucid, my hell has become more bearable to my delight, the bad news is that now hunger has invited itself to my ordeal. The only thing I can do is try to sleep because now it's the only way for me to find some rest.

When I woke up, I tried to open my eyes but the light immediately attacked my retinas and I had to resign myself to closing them again. After several attempts, I finally manage to keep my eyes open and I can now observe my surroundings. First of all, I realize against all expectations there is little light present in the room where I am, which surprises me given the power with which this same light attacked my sight, despite that everything is perfectly visible to me and I can finally see where I am.

The room is very small and all wood, I find myself on a hill not much taller than me and all there is is a small piece of furniture with a hole in the top containing water and a kind of basin. I can see the start of a staircase going down at the end of the room I'm in but what I don't understand is that I'm not at all familiar with this room.

Besides, now that this observation comes to my mind, I realize that I know absolutely nothing about my situation, why do I have so much pain? Why didn't anyone come to see me during my agony? I don't remember anything that could answer my questions, no matter how hard I think, I don't remember anything, it's complete nothingness. I'm exhausted, both mentally and physically, the pain has eased a lot, but while I was busy surveying my surroundings I tried to move again. I can now move my head and the ends of my limbs but the fact of having forced so much caused an increase in the pain I felt. Fatigue overcame me again and I fell back asleep quickly.
