A Switch of Status
Hester opened the file. The accident happened in the West District. It was reasonable that people in the North District were excluded. But personally, Hester was involved. Yet the West District did not require her statement.
"The file is here. The North District will take over." Hamilton glanced at Hester, "Boss's request."
By "boss", Hamilton meant Garret. That was to say, Farley was behind this.
It was Farley's son, Dave, who got kidnapped. The one who was involved was Hester. Even the suspects were all people related to Hester.
In fact, Hester shouldn't have taken over the case. She had been a police officer for so many years. She knew the rule, but still... "I will be in charge of the case."
Hester closed the file and looked at Hamilton. "I will interrogate Bette this afternoon."
"Rhodes, what do you think?" Hamilton looked at Commissioner Rhodes and asked.
"Hester will be in charge of this case. Hamilton, you will assist her." Commissioner Rhodes nodded.
