Let's Talk

Sitting across from the Uchiha Patriarch I had a smile on my face as he read the notes of my most promising prototype.

It was the only one that didn't eviscerate itself.

And after some more fine tuning I truly believed I was close to a poor imitation of Lord Tobirama's one of a kind weapon.

I had promised to have a functioning prototype, not the best call on my part.

But hey I got the money.

So ultimately worth it.

Setting down the journal that I kept all my notes in he looked at the only surviving prototype sitting in the middle of the table.

He didn't immediately share his thoughts, instead he continued to stare at the prototype before turning his stoic gaze upon me before finally speaking, "You seem confident that you are close to a functioning prototype."

"It is certainly a possibility," I respond, as I grab my prototype before proceeding to dismantle the thing tell I could showcase the point of failure. "See this," I say, pulling out the pieces of a rather expensive component that was broken into small segments.

It was a thin rod made of special metal with chakra conductive properties, really fascinating stuff.

And expensive.

"It's not supposed to do that," I say before putting it back together, minus the broken rod, "I believe once I correct this error I will have a functioning prototype and can begin the process of fine tuning."

"But you will not know until you do so," Fugaku said, injecting reality into my life.

"Ture, but even if I'm wrong and I still have more work ahead of me, I've already passed the barriers that have stopped all those before me," I said, doubling down on my false confidence.

This certainly piqued his interest.

"Explain."

"Happily. You see, I lied to you when I promised a copy of Tobirama's creation. It is simply impossible for me at this time, the only person who probably could would be Minato, but he'd rather mess around with space & time."

The only person with a better understanding of Tobirama's seals would be future me, but all I have to work with is present me, so I made do.

"Replicating personal seals is a losing battle, even if I do succeed it will be little more than a cheap copy that I won't even know how to improve."

"I see," Fugaku said.

I waited a moment expecting him to continue but he didn't.

"Fortunately I excel at fuinjutsu, so you will have your weapon.

Now let me make something clear, under no circumstances is the Uchiha Clan to let anything I provide them with fall into anyone else hands, that includes Konoha. Lord Second fuinjutsu may be moon ruins to everyone but a select few, but the same can't be said about mine. This gets into the wrong hands and they will be able to replicate my work."

"Understood, I presume you'll take precautions?"

"Of course, but that's for later, we're I try and add them now it'd just complicate the fuinjutsu."

Once the important topics of were covered the rest of the meeting went rather quickly.

Taking a break from the numerous scrolls surrounding me, I watch as Obito tries his best to keep up with Kakashi. It was a futile endeavor with his current capabilities, but he still gave it his all.

Seems taking a break was a mistake as my neighbor started to talk to me.

"You're a Iryõ-shinobi, right?" Rin asked, putting down a sizable book.

"Yes. That is technically true, I am a certified Iryõ-nin. But not really, I mostly just got the certification for the training, now all I use that training for is as a lab assistant."

"I see," Rin spoke, before talking a few minutes to collect her thoughts before suddenly continuing the conversation like it had never ended, "What kind of shinobi are you then?"

Good question?

"Sozo Akinori, fuinjutsu specialist extraordinaire," I say standing up, "I use ink and paper to create barriers, and recently I've been working on weapons!" I say before walking away from the social sitter.

Not for any particular reason, Rin's actually quite a sweet girl.

"Minato said you were a natural sensor, what's that like?" Spoke Rin, who was now following me.

"Useful, something annoying, but above all else, fascinating."

"Fascinating?" Rin repeated.

"I wasn't always a natural sensor, I developed it around three-ish years ago, but before then I couldn't sense chakra at all, the staff at the hospital were quite befuddled with that one.

But once I developed the ability it was… enlightening. My whole worldview was shattered again, and again. I had a whole new sense to experience the world around me. It's not something that can be put into words easily.

Take you for example, your chakra is warm, but not in the context of weather, but rather feeling, but there's so much more, the Idea of trying to put it into words is preposterous."

I continued to ramble on about this and that, as I watched as Obito and Kakashi were being toyed with by the literal fastest man in the world, if not at least tied, hard to beat instantaneous travel from one point to another.

Especially when the one wielding such a jutsu also has an insane level of perception.

S-rank shinobi, The Yellow Flash.

What do you even do against such an opponent?

Least I can remove my mark whenever I wish.

But even then I doubt I'd be able to escape.

What a terrifying individual.

I bet he's still late to stuff.

......…

Wow, never taken this long between updates without giving a heads up.

I have no excuse besides life, but we all deal with that so it really doesn't hold up.

But hey in other news I've finally finalized the specifics of the inciting incident, so that's good.
