"Come on Kakashi! I thought you were supposed to be impressive?"
Kakashi didn't respond, his Chakra rapidly cycling though his system as he was blocked by my barriers yet again.
To his credit he didn't stop speeding up faster and faster, even creating a shadow clone. Unfortunately it was all for naught, three barriers rotated around me at a frightening speed. With my newest addition to my arsenal landing a hit on me was quite the task. Sure I couldn't touch him either but that wasn't the game we were playing.
I may have also taken a little dosage of my favorite medicine, to even the playing field. It wasn't hard to convince Orochimaru to give me another dosage, it's quite clear he wants me to be the strongest of my generation.
Unfortunately it wasn't nearly as much as I took last time.
Kakashi was the second coming of the White Fang, that much was clear. But when your opponent is surrounded by incredibly durable barriers with their own Chakra source separate from the user, it's clear who will win.
It was just a matter of waiting for Kakashi's impressive, for his age, Chakra reserves to begin to dwindle. While my own Chakra reserves are being artificially bolstered by the injection I took.
It was a simple matter of time.
"Feeling tired Kakashi? All you have to do is admit defeat and you can rest!"
Kakashi doesn't respond. Instead he begins doing something. Chakra began to concentrate in the palm of his hand. The Chakra in the air near whatever was in his palm began to get sucked in what I could only describe as a vortex made completely of Chakra.
The ball of Chakra carried the intent bestowed upon it by its creator, it was volatile, annoyed, with a dash of anger, just like Kakashi himself.
Whatever it was, I didn't want anything to do with it.
The barriers around me came to a halt, ceasing their rotation.
Kakashi held the orb of Chakra in his right hand. Looking up from the orb he stared me down making his message clear.
A challenge.
My barriers
His jutsu.
Was it stupid to accept his challenge? Yes, but I wasn't about to back down.
Two more barriers manifested, in total I had five. The two in my bracers along with the three new additions. The new Fuinjutsu seals were created using the design of the ones in my bracers, so they also had the additional function of being able to merge together.
Slowly my barriers moved into place before they melded together leaving me with one barrier.
With my preparation done I returned his gaze.
Holding my hand the barrier directly in front of myself.
Off to the side I could see Minato watching with… Orochimaru surprisingly.
When did he get here?
As much as I wanted to see those two interact I had more pressing matters
Kakashi shot forward.
Locking my feet to the ground, a smile made its way onto my face.
As Kakashi's jutsu made contact with my barrier, it held strong, showing no signs of shattering. Which didn't matter as the sheer force of the jutsu sent my barrier crashing into me sending me crashing into a tree.
The force knocked the breath right out of me.
I can move my barriers to some extent around me, while it was possible for an outside force to move the barrier as well doing so would require a monstrous amount of force. Something I would rather dodge than try to face head on.
Deactivating my barrier I fall to the ground.
What the hell was that?
My control faltered.
My Chakra which I was meticulously keeping in check surged out flooding the surrounding. This caused Kakashi to take a step back, caught off guard by the sudden release of large amounts of Chakra.
Off to the side Minato also tensed up for a moment.
Standing up I close my eyes before trying to regain control of my Chakra.
Reel it back in Sozo, it's your Chakra, if anybody can control it, it's you.
It takes longer than I would have liked but I do regain control.
Even though I was just thrown into a tree with quite some force I still feel like I can fight, it hurt but not as much as it should have.
Thanks adrenaline.
But I clearly lost.
Looking over I see Orochimaru who looks at me disappointed.
I just shrug in response.
He turns to leave.
Dramatic bastard.
Turning my attention back to Kakashi, I cleared my throat before speaking, "OK… The hell was that?" I yell at Kakashi who finally puts his sword away seeing I am done fighting.
"That would be a Jutsu of my creation, called the Rasengan," Minato chimed in.
As much as I wanted to ask more, doing so would be rude. Prying is not something looked fondly upon in the Shinobi world. We all have our secrets, I respect theirs and hopefully in return they will respect mine.
"What was that?" Kakashi asked.
"Hmm?"
"Where did all that Chakra come from?" He clarified.
"Oh that, you just broke some of my seals, they released all their Chakra into the surrounding," I lied.
Kakashi takes a moment before seeming satisfied with my answer.
Minato on the other hand… not so much
Walking over to my stuff I hope to make a get away before Minato could question me.
"Sozo," Minato says with a tone I do not like one bit.
"Sozo what you just did was not normal," Minato said as he… placed his hand on my shoulder.
I hate it.
My paranoia.
My insecurities.
My irrational fears.
Minato is my friend.
I shouldn't feel this… fear? No… that's not right. It's an irrational feeling. Fear of what could be done.
The Flying Raijin.
Such a frightening jutsu.
Once you're marked… that's it.
You're as good as dead.
The user can find you no matter how far you run.
Mind as well be a fucking curse mark.
"Sozo, are you alright?" Minato asked.
"Yeah… I'm fine. Don't worry about me, Orochimaru, has it covered. My Chakra system isn't going to rupture or any like that. I've endured worse outbursts of Chakra."
"You've endured worst?" Minato said, stepping in front of me.
"Yeah… My last outburst put my Chakra system out of commission for a few weeks.
That sounds really bad, let me clarify. Orochimaru found out the trigger for my abnormalities and we triggered them for testing purposes. While the first dosage was pretty anticlimactic the second one had a bit more of an impact."
I'm… rambling.
"Ok what I'm trying to get across is that I've got this under control, Orochimaru is looking into my abnormalities so don't worry about it.
What you should be worrying about is Kakashi, he's back on active duty after all."
"I see," Minato said.
"Oh one more thing," I say reaching into my bag, "You can have your book back."
Minato takes a moment before responding.
"Keep it, I'll tell my Sensei I lost it."
Oh… I get to keep one of Lord Second's books.
Sure I have others but they are Orochimaru's and at the end of the day they will always be his. So I found the idea of have my vary own book written by Tobirama himself was quite appealing.
"Thanks."
With that I leave intending to create a countermeasure to this Rasengan.
