Chapter Seventeen

The swish-swish of Kirab's robe was one of the few sounds on the street as Bahrin and the high priestess made their way through a less busy part of the city. There were few people around and the sky was streaked with violet and orange as the sun dipped down the western horizon. Bahrin trudged behind her with a slowness that had nothing to do with his sorrow. He was tired.

Kirab hadn't needed much talk to convince him to follow her,on the contrary,he was rather pleased to leave a place that had gone from being a home to a painful reminder of his happy memories. It would've taken a day's walk to get to this part of the city, but Kirab's priestly duties had turned it into a four day affair.
