Regret and end

We return to the scene where two men and a boy are found in a room in a certain mansion. One man on the floor while the other is seated on a chair near a desk. The last one is spewing killing intent at the other two

"...Argus, it looks like you failed." (Hendrick)

Argus stands back up.

"It appears so." (Argus)

"Then take care of this mess, I'll be going-" (Hendrick)

Before he got to finish the sentence I ran towards him.

"Who said you are allowed to leave?!" (Luis)

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Argus run towards me. He tried to punch me but I blocked it last minute and was sent flying, I rolled once on the floor and landed with both feet and one hand on the ground.

"I did." (Argus)

Hendrick leaves the room and leaves them alone.

"Fuck, why did you have to find out." (Argus)

"Shut up! I trusted you! I thought I could change if I had someone to rely on! Now you are telling me that you were just faking this whole time!" I say as I jump towards him. He sees me coming and decides to go for a kick, block the attack and ignite my hand on fire and try to hit him. He dodges this time and hits me on the stomach and sends me back again..

"You still can you know." (Argus)

"Shut up!"

How am I supposed to?! He was the one who killed Tara. If I don't do the same it's as if denying all that I went through. Killing someone for the first time, destroying Crimson Nights, and killing Jefe, it would all be for nothing! I made my resolve countless times. I can't have this be the end of that.

I try to charge at him again.

[Stone bullets]!

The bullets come flying at me, I create a wall of fire and block some of the attacks while others scrape by me.

"Shut the fuck up you sentimental fuck. Do you have any idea how much of my time has been wasted now!" (Argus)

"...So this is the true you then?"

"Yes, if you had just stayed there and played the little idiot for me then you would have been a happy little fuck. Now, killing that girl was all in vain."

"KIlling her was never justified," I say as I jump towards again

[Stone bullets]

I create Fire that extends in front of me burning the small stone bullets. Using the fire as a screen I jump through it punch him in the stomach followed by another punch to the face that misses. He kicks my side with his foot as he does so I manage to send a punch to his side. We trade blows and are separated again.

"I would've really liked having a genius like you you know, do you have any idea how much time it's supposed to make a spell?! You only have had the power for 5 months and you already can do this much. You can even control two of your elements already. It is such a pity that you care so much about that stupid friend of yours and don't pick the rational way out of this situation. Well, bringing you back will be enough to promote me."

"Shut up!"

I use wind and try to slash him.

He blocks it and then starts running towards me. I dodge his first punch directed to my face.

Straight from his feet was positioned a pillar goes straight up and hits me through the ceiling. I break through the ceiling and land on top, I stand back up slowly. I have blood all over, a couple of scrapes and maybe some fractured bones. My healing magic just keeps on healing me but it's not fast enough for the amount of damage I am taking.

A few moments later Argus comes to the roof too.

"Well, even if you are a genius there's still something you lack that I have. Training and experience, well, you'll get some soon enough. After we're done brainwashing you that is."

"Shut up!"

"Is that all you know how to say. You know, this situation is nothing but your fault!"

"I don't need you telling me that!"

I already know that's the case. Why wouldn't it be? I let myself be used! I wasn't strong enough to protect Tara. I even ended up trusting him thinking that it should turn out okay. Hadn't I realized before that the only person you can trust is yourself?

Tara was the first person to ever prove me to be wrong but she is the only person that could and the only that will. I go in to try and hit him again.. I get closer and he takes a step back and I pursue him.

[Earth spike]

A spike appears from where he was standing. I manage to barely dodge it but it scrapes through my back creating a huge cut and making my bleeding worse.

"Oh, dodged that one. Well, I expected you to. I can't have you dying on me or else I don't know what I would say to 'her' about the missing 10 flasks."

"Die!" I use fire first but he easily dodges and sends me flying down the house. I land face down on the floor. My body hurts all over and I've lost a lot of blood, but I will not give up, not yet! I stand back up.

Argus descends down using earth pillar.

"You are pretty resilient."

"I...will keep on standing up...until I finally...kill you."

"You'll be doing some stand-up? Why not become a comedian then, because that last one was a pretty good joke.."

I use pain-relieving magic and fatigue-relieving magic, and dash towards him and try hitting him with my left fist. This time he grabs me by the wrist but before he can do anything I light leg on fire and kick him on the body sending him a distance away. I feel something scrape past my hand.

"Look at what I have here." Says Argus as he holds a white bracelet on his hand. I check my wrist to see that it's no longer there.

"Give it back!"

"See, what did I tell you, you got good jokes. I mean just look at this thing, I can probably figure that this bracelet means a lot to you. You always have it one you and touch it to calm down. HAHAHA! This is probably some stupid object that represents that Tara girl. Why don't I just break this, maybe then you'll let go of her."

"Stop!"

I dash forward to try and punch him again, but he kicks me away easily. He throws the bracelet up into the air.

''STOOOOOOOP!"

[Stone bullets]

I watch as the bracelet gets completely obliterated to pieces.

"YOU PIECE OF SHIT!"

I start sprinting at him again but this time I have my fire fist ready. I get close to him.

"How many times have you tried this-"

Before he finishes his sentences I envelop the fist with wind magic making the radius larger and the destruction power stronger. I see fear for a second and yet-

[Cape armament]

The cape materializes out of thin air again. I hit the cape with my fist and the cape neutralizes the impact. Argus takes a step back.

"Woah, geniuses do have it easy, don't they, making a spell mid-battle? If I hadn't taken this out I might've had a broken bone or two with that last attack...I'm done playing."

I dash back in ready with my hands on fire.

[Stone bullets] [Stone bullets] [Stone bullets] [Stone bullets]

"AAHHHHHHH!!!!" (Luis)

I try blocking as many as I can but some of them get through making small holes all over my limbs. I get near him but all he does is kick me and sends me rolling until I a wall stops.

I try to stand back up but power leaves my whole body, I try again but my body won't listen. I can't stand back up anymore, I barely even feel my whole body anymore. I already lost a lot of blood and have injuries all over. I have a lot of leftover magic yet I can't use it. Why am I so weak!

Why is it that even though I try my hardest I can't ever become strong! I wasn't strong enough to save Tara! Tears began to form on my eyes. I can't even complete my promise even though I trained so hard! Why?! I try to stand up again but it was already impossible, to begin with, I am barely conscious after that hit. Tears start rolling down my cheeks as I still try to move. Why can't I do this?! I just wanted-
