New magic element

Tara's POV

He's not going to make it!!!! Oh crap, I shouldn't have told him to do that, I was just bored cause I couldn't see him all week to perform experiments so I thought it would be cool if he could jump that far...What?! He jumped on the air, did he practice that without me knowing? Wait, it was only briefly but I could see his bone and he was bleeding from his legs. Now he's over the ledge. He isn't coming up, wait does that mean?

"Luis!!! Are you okay?! I can't see you!."

"Shut up for a second! I'm in a bit of a crisis! I need to concentrate."

Alright, he's fine. He sounded somewhat pissed though. I'll wait quietly for now...

He's been under there for like, 10 minutes. Is he bleeding out!! Wait, it's Luis sooooo, is he trying to prank me or something.

"Luis! You haven't answered for a while, If you are trying to be funny you are not this is just scary!"

"I'm almost done! Just give me a second woman!"

Sounds like he's busy, but I want to ask him what happened. But I forced him to jump that so what if he's mad at me!! I can't take this guilt. Oh, he finally poked his head over the ledge.

"Oy, I'm done."

Um what should I say, should I apologize, I probably should!

"I-I'm-"

"Hold up on that, for now, okay, let's no shout things just in case."

He's right, he still levelheaded after that. I should calm down a bit.

"Ok!"

'In that case, I'll be jumping-"

"NO!! Wait, don't do that again just..."

What does he mean jump, he just-

"Let me finish my sentence will ya. Like I was saying, in that case, I'll jumping down after I get to the bottom of the emergency stairs and discuss things with you."

"You started like that on purpose! didn't you!"

"I'll leave that up to your imagination!"

He walked down the emergency stairs, dropped down. Entered our building and went up the stairs to where I was. Well, that was pretty smooth, now, I should apologize and ask questions. He got up, he looked at me, came to some sort of understanding, and decided to go sit in the middle. What's he doing.

"Come sit in front of me."

"...Ok."

I walk towards him and sit in front of him, what is he planning on doing? As I was wondering that, he karate chopped me in the head.

"Ow, what the hell. You didn't have to enhance it!." I said rubbing y head

"This way we'll be even. So, ask away!"

"So you did enhance it, you didn't have to go that far!"

<Well if I didn't do something like that you probably won't calm down.>(Luis)

"Yes, I did," he said with a slight smile.

Crap, well now I can't get mad now can I. Then...

"Why happened when you were not responding?"

"Well after that extra jump, my leg was, well not the right shape, color, and density so..."

"Were you that hurt?"

"Well, it wasn't too severe in the case that I could see my bone only had a small fracture. But it was bad enough that I could 'see' that I only had small bone fractures. Anyways, I started healing from my anterior tibial muscle and worked my way down."

"Anterior what?"

"Don't worry about it all you have to know is that I healed my leg and that biology and anatomy were useful to use because I knew how things were suppose to be. After some scanning."

"Okay. Now onto the next pressing matter, that jump from midair was?"

"A new element!" He said with both hope and despair. How did he manage that?

Wait, a new element, so more experiments!!!! Yes! I was so bored with school work.

"Is it wind magic then?"

"Well that's what I'm thinking it is, so then, do we test it out the same way as fire?

" I don't see why not."

Luis POV

I thought today was the day that I would end up dead. But I guess that's that. Well then, time to start. Like before I concentrate on my right hand profusely on focus on the image of wind. This one feels different too, it's almost like there's an infinite amount of sharp things poking my hand rather than the burning or calming sensation. Is it different for every element, I felt it materialize.

"Luis, I can see it, but it's somewhat faint."

I look at my hand, she's right there is a small ball of wind, it's somewhere between white and transparent but it's somewhat noticeable.

"I see."

She looks like she's thinking of something

"Do you think you would fly if I kicked you off this building."

"And then you'd be sent to jail for murder."

"Jail ain't that bad."

"Really? Do elaborate please."

"I mean...you get some free food and shelter and they give you some sick orange jumpsuits."

"See the glass half not half empty, huh?"

"What do you mean the glass is always full, half water and half air."

That sounds too positive. But I have a different approach.

"Nah, it's the other the way, the glass is mostly empty."

"Your logic?"

"According to Rutherford's experiment an atom is mostly empty space since water is made of atoms and atoms are mostly empty space then the glass is mostly empty space, that is to say mostly empty."

"..."

"Anyways, let's get back to trying things with wind magic other than flying."

"I guess, if I remember correctly wind Magic's forte is usually cutting.-"

"Cutting... doesn't necessarily bring. good memories you know." I say with a threatening voice

"*clears throat* How about we use slicing from now on?"

"Yeah, I like the sound of that, so then what will we try slicing then?"

"Well, before we do we can try strengthening it a bit by doing using it a bit since you get better as you use any Element."

"Okay, so?"

"You like wearing jackets right? But it's too hot to wear some now so you usually don't wear any. In that case, why don't you try enveloping your body with wind magic and have your jacket on as you walk around? Your goal would be to maintain yourself cool. This way you'll be able to use wind magic in public and people won't be able to tell and I'm pretty sure this also works on your control of wind magic too."

"Alright then."

"Also, I have another idea."

"Here we go again."

"Hear me out."

"Nope, the last brilliant idea you had destroyed some of my legs muscles, ligaments, and tendons."

"Just follow me for a second." She said as the headed for the stairs.

I should follow, right? I'm pretty sure she's being cautious now so I might as well follow.

I follow her down the stairs and into her room.

"Wow, the hell happened in this room."

The room had clothes thrown all over the place and there was some garbage laying around.

"What do you mean?"

" I mean how I can't walk a meter without stepping on undetermined substances and such."

"...Do you know the theory of nature's drive?" She says as she rummages through her stuff and checks under the bed.

"No?"

She doesn't find what she's looking for and gets up.

"It states that as time goes on it is natures drive to create disorder." As she headed to her closet and searched through it.

"So?"

"This disorder is not my fault, it is natures drive!!!" She says as she takes out a metal rod.

"This is your room! Not nature!"

"Well, it could be"

I shake my head

"Do you go to school just learn bullshit ways to come up with excuses? (Authors note: I do.)"Now, what's this rod for and why do you have it?"

"About three months ago after a party, we saw a traffic sign on the floor cut in two. I don't really know what it was doing there or how it happened but my friends were pretty high so we brought it back to our homes."

"Only your friends were high huh."

"...Yes? Something wrong?"

"No, I just thought that if you were sober and brought back a metal rod I wonder what would happen if you were actually high."

"Ok, fine, I may have been a little bit too."

"...Anyways, why did you bring out the rod?"

"Oh, so it can be your goal!"

"Excuse me?"

"Well in anime wind magic is usually considered slashing magic. So your goal should be able to slash through metal with wind magic!"

"Sure? In that case, I'll need somewhere to practice wind magic, don't you think?"

"Yes, I'll think on a solution to that as well. For now, let's try and see what wind magic is capable of so let's head up."

"Ok."

We go up to the roof and decide to start experimenting on the same way we experimented on fire, of course, for whatever reason we still couldn't produce any weapons. There must be a special reason for it but I'll pay it no mind for now.

However, there was one slight difference from when we experimented with fire and that was the effectiveness of each type of spell. When it came to a broad area sort of spell, the wind magic seemed a little weaker than fire. When it came to single target spells though wind magic was stronger than fire magic.

The defensive capabilities of both magics were about the same but that's all. After almost depleting myself we talked for a bit, before going to sleep. Of course, I did my daily nightly routine of shocking myself to sleep by mana assimilation, or at least that's how I call it, happened.
