M.'s usefulness

"Well then first, Crimson Night. Crimson Night is run by a drug lord, that druglord himself does not live in New York he only has 2 subordinates running things here. The firsts name is Ricardo, he's the one in direct contact with the drug lord and is the provider of drugs. He deals with the management of drugs in his territory. The other's name is Jose, he is the one that handles the deals with the other gangs and is the public face of the organization, usually the one that deals with the smugglers. Next, Lotus Flower, as I stated before they appeared 2 years ago out of nowhere and gained massive influence here. The leader himself is not known but there are rumors that the leader has one guard with high combat ability, and 5 people in the upper echelon. The names of the people running Lotus flower's upper echelon are William, Jacob, Elijah, Sophia, and Mia. Nobody knows the name of the rumored Guard, only these five people and the Boss know. Finally, the Bloody crips have one boss dealing with things, his name is unknown but he's called Jefe,(Author's note: You guys better read that He-fe, it's Spanish for boss, so, yeah!) he's well known around the streets, he goes out often and looks around the streets and talks with people, he's usually spoken of well around here and is not hated much compared to the other two."(M.)

That Jefe Idiot has got a death wish or something. He's walking around the streets. well, it will make him an easier target later on.

"Hope you found that useful, Mr. Menace." (M.)

"It was very useful. However, don't you doubt the information I gave you at all?"

"Well, I may or I may not. If I was fooled then that means that I'm no longer able to judge people with these very eyes anymore. In that's the case then I probably shouldn't be the head of the informants."

Talking about careless people who walk around. I could easily hand him to the police right now but It's not like he's committed any crimes, not that I've heard at least. And I don't know enough about the law to know to what extent could it providing information get you arrested. Plus, having an acquaintance in the underground can't hurt for now.

"...I see, then how do I contact you if I want to have another information exchange?"

"One of my subordinates is always stationed here." He gave me a piece of paper with two addresses," in between these two there will be someone, usually with a big tattoo going down his arm. If you answer him, 'Information always comes with a price', he will contact me and I will be there as soon as I can."

What is with these people and having passwords for the things they do.

"Understood. I'll be leaving then."

"Yes, I'll be leaving as well, see you around Mr. menace. Oh, before you leave, if you ever come accross information that is not from NYC it would pretty useful to me as well. Just in case you end up hearing something big from out of states or the city I would like to have hold of it as well."

This guy is ambitious as hell, he wants to expand his information network a it huh. Well I've got nothing to lose.

"Sure."

I walk away while sensing the area around me. There seems to be someone across the street, it's one of those people that has been tailing me recently, well I have no time to mess with you today. As soon as I lose him I climbed up an emergency ladder, onto the roof of a building and try to rearrange my thoughts. I remember every single name, those are all my targets for now. If I think about it logically the most suspicious by far is the Lotus flower. Even M. didn't have much information, either that or he was holding information on them, though it wouldn't make sense for him to do so since word in the street is that they don't have a good relationship. Even if he is holding a lot of information as long as I have some names it is enough for now to listen, eventually, I'll find out myself. The easiest one to track will probably the Crimson night since if I follow the supply line I'll be able to get them eventually; this followed by the Bloody Crips who are heavily involved with the people and finally the Lotus flower. Well, that's that for now. For now, I'll just try to listen to the names on the street... not before writing all this shit down though, that was too much information for a 10-minute conversation. For now, I'll head back to my apartment and rearrange my thoughts and the information I have.

Again we return to this room where the previous 7 people were mentioned. Another meeting is being held and as previously, the air is tense.

"Do you have anything to report in the advancement on 10!?"(Boss)

"... Well, now he's known as Dark Menace around the streets. As to establishing contact with him... it has not gone well."(Underling 1)

"I thought I told you what would happen if you didn't establish firm contact with him by this meeting!!"

"Well, the thing is that he's very elusive. He constantly catches our guys off guard and easily gets away. His movement pattern is extremely unpredictable and he hasn't made contact with people who are not behind bars."(Underling 1)

"I'm not here to hear your excuses, I am here to hear whether you were able to accomplish what you told me you could!"

"If I may interrupt" the voice of a female was heard from the side. Everybody looked at her in disbelief seeing that she had interrupted a very serious issue.

"What is it?! (Boss)

"I have some information regarding someone that contacted Dark Menace just a few hours ago and is still very free." As soon as the sentence left her mouth the room became tenser. The man who was most concerned though was the one assigned his mission since she didn't tell him anything regarding this he was afraid as to what may happen to his position.

"Elaborate."

"A few hours ago Dark Menace entered an alleyway where informant M. was. After a few minutes, he exited the alleyway in a hurry and lost the people tracking him again. The important thing is that there's a chance that M. may know some things about how Menace may move."

"I see." He looks at the man that was given this assignment and thinks for a bit. He then arrives at a conclusion. "I'll be reassigning this mission to her since she's more proficient." He then looks at the woman who spoke up. " And you, go find M. and try to get as much information as you can of that Dark Menace or whatever."

"Understood."

"You are all dismissed"

And with that, the meeting is dismissed and everybody leaves the meeting room.

The alarm clock sounds and I wake up. I barely exhausted my mana yesterday due to my thought arranging. So I'll work extra hard today to make up for that. For now, I have decided to do the following. I will carry on with my patrols as usual but now I'll focus more on information gathering and trying to hear out the names mentioned to see if I can try to rat out wherever each organization's base is. Of course, I won't forget to search for the presence that was there that day. Something has been bothering me though, when I felt the presence back then it got stronger as it fled or so it seemed to do. I'll have to figure out the reason. For now, I will go on my daily morning run and then head to my part-time job.

After my job comes patrolling at night. Things became clearer now that I know the name of the different underground organizations. And like that the days before the deal at the bay go by with me gathering more and more information about the different organizations. Firstly, there's no irregular movement from the bloody crips, they are maintaining the same stance they had before I knew them according to the people. Next would be Crimson night, there's been some movement into Lotus flower territory but other than that not much to report besides that they might be receiving some cargo this week, which I'm already aware of. Lastly, Lotus flower, apparently they are currently trying to get a hold of M. himself and are asking around. If I remember correctly M. and the Lotus Flower don't have a very good relationship so Lotus Flower might be making a bit move if they need information badly enough to ask for M. Well, that's all I heard the last 4 days.

Finally the day the deal would take place in the bay arrived. I decided not to attack them outright but instead following them and see if I could find out where their base of operation is located. I did not train today since I knew that I couldn't afford to be the least bit tired even though I won't get tired if I used some fatigue relieving magic, I wanted to be as ready as possible since today was the last anybody would hear of the Crimson Night. I arrived near the bay and waited near, in an alleyway. It is currently 18:45, I guess there still sometime before I see some movement. I'll relax now... or not. It seems that the crimson night arrived. They have about 4 cars in total, I guess 10,000 is a big number huh. Two people step out of the back of one of the cars. I guess I'll monitor them for now and wait to see what they'll do.

I wait for a bit and it becomes 19:00 and sure enough the boat arrived at the bay exactly on time. Guess they don't mess around here huh. They start heading in towards the boat. They are stopped at the gate and after some discussing, they are allowed in. Now it's my turn, I touch the white bracelet on my left arm do one long exhale and one long inhales, looks like a part of my promise will be fulfilled today Tara. I go near the fence and jump followed by some air jumps until I'm over and then drop down while slowing down my fall with wind magic. Magic sure is handy when you are tailing someone. I follow their presence while avoiding being seen by the people around me. After some following, they spotted someone and began heading towards it. It looks like that's my target, but just to make sure I'll amplify my hearing just to make sure that following them is what I should do. It is still not 19:30, they seem to be in a hurry, did something happen?
