Chapter 11: Where There's Flames

Felicity

Felicity drove fast to the station and rushed in to throw on her gear and head back out to get to the fire across town. She flipped on her lights and merged into traffic.

She got there in record time to find that the fire had gotten even worse. Though the house was a total loss, they had to get it under control to save surrounding properties.

She didn't hesitate to get right in the middle of the action. She saw several firefighters from her station, including Weston.

She put all personal feelings aside and ran up next to him to help him drag the fire hose closer to the structure.

"Hey," he said after he realized she was the one helping.

"Hey."

Nothing else was said. They began their teamwork on the fire.

Everyone thought the place was empty. The owners had not been home, and no one was able to reach them.

Suddenly, they pulled up in a vehicle and a woman got out and started screaming bloody murder at the firefighters near her.
