Chapter 14

The evening came. Servants were in the process of switching. The day servants were going off duty, while the night servants began their night shift. Buhle went to use the toilet. There, she transformed but she did not realize this; she was too exhausted to notice. She returned to her room, and did not find her roommates. They had gone for an evening shower. She prepared and gathered her belonging for shower.

The ladies' bathrooms were quite noisy. The girls joked around, while others sang.

Buhle entered. Each person that saw her went in awe. She was beautiful. Her skin, flawless. It was the perfect shade of chocolate. Her aura, majestic and mystical. Her woolly dark hair went down her figure. She had a tiny waist paired with large hips. As she walked on, the girls made way. It took a while for her to realize, from their reaction, that she had transformed. Soon, the whole room had seen her, they all went silent. The ones in the showers wondered why there was a sudden silence. They stepped out to see.

"Who is she?", the girls whispered among themselves.

No-one knew who she was. Buhle walked straight to Letho. She smiled and spoke; "Have you been here for long?"

Letho was confused; she did not know her. Buhle brushed her teeth and then hopped into the shower. By the time she returned to her room, her roommates were there. She got ready to sleep and hopped into bed. The roommates looked at one another.

"Wait a minute, who are you?" the prefect asked.

Buhle got up.

"That is Buhle's bed. Get out."

The other two girls gasped at Lebo's bluntness.

"I am Buhle."

Lebo refused to believe her, she was convinced the girl was lying.

"Please leave."

Buhle tried again; "I am Buhle. It is me. I came here yesterday."

A commotion began. The girls were trying to drag Buhle out, while on the contrary, Buhle was trying to get them off of her. The girls next door heard the commotion, and came to room 112 to see for themselves. Their prefects ran to alert the head-maid. The head-maid came and what she saw was the four girls, inclusive of the prefect, tussling one another. Whipped the door with her stick, and with that, the girls stopped.

"What is going on?" she asked with a sternness.

While huffing and puffing, one of the girls responded, as the rest pouted;

"She does not belong here."

The rest of them nodded, except Buhle.

"You. Who are you?"

"I am Buhle."

"That is strange, you do not look like Buhle. Who are you?"

"I am really am Buhle."

Buhle knew that she was supposed to clarify the misunderstanding, but she felt uncomfortable to. She feared they might laugh at her. She feared they might not believe her. Another reason she feared was the possibility that if anyone did believe her, they would in some way use it to mock her. So, instead of explaining, she insisted. After a long back and forth, the head-maid went out of the room. She ran to The Prince.

When she got to his chambers, The Prince's guards told her that The Prince was too infuriated to speak to anyone. After she insisted the matter was urgent because she could not throw the maid, Buhle, out. The Prince's guards reported to The Prince. They came back to the door and told the head-maid that The Prince suggested she speaks to The Queen.

......…..

"My Queen", the head-maid spoke to The Queen in her palace.

This was after the chief of The Queen's close maids reported to The Queen and got permission to let her in. The Queen had 3 close maids. They were not her friends, but they kept her company. They were also responsible for flattering fans for The Queen to cool down on hot weathers, they also helped her dress up and, they did her hair and makeup.

"Head-maid Kamva. What is it?", The Queen wanted to know, she was concerned as she saw the head-maid try to catch her breath.

The head-maid was on her knees as she spoke. She breathed heavily through her words.

"It is nothing, My Queen. I just ran a distance", the head-maid clarified.

"Oh, it is good then to hear it nothing dire. What is it then, that has brought you to the Queen's palace at this hour? Is it not head-maid Crystal's shift now?"

"It is, My Queen. But there is a strange quibble at one of the servant dorms."

"The servant dorm?" with a sternness in her tone, The Queen questioned. How dare a matter concerning the servant dorm be brought to her.

"I am sorry, My Queen, for bringing such a seemingly trivial matter to you. But I just do not know what to do."

"What is going on there?", although, she felt insulted, the Queen still wanted to know what the matter was.

"There is a strange girl. She is adamant that she is the new maiden The Prince brought in."

"And the problem with that is?", probed the Queen.

"My Queen, she does not look like her. She is completely different", the head-maid responded.

The Queen said no word. Nervous, the head-maid added;

"I cannot throw her out of the palace. It is too dark; she will not be safe."

"If she is lying, throw her out" strictly said The Queen.

"My Queen… she seems sincere. I truly believe her. But things do not add up", carefully argued the head-maid.

The Queen thought for a moment, she was beginning to take the case seriously. As she had an epiphany, The Queen stood up and ordered;

"Take me there."
