Chapter 15: It's Starting

Guista City November 17, 2762 at 13:26

Cale, who had stayed at home today because of the sound of the wind against the window and the blizzard, looked a bit troubled. There had been a blizzard for days and it was difficult to get to the city of Armageddon for now because of the snowfall.

And that was not the only problem. In four days the Hoop Academy was opening and he had to be there. But the chaos energy that he had infused into the mana core to synthesize about ten days ago had barely made it to today.

The process of waiting for the mana in the mana core to integrate with the chaos energy and taking it back into the body was a long and arduous process, so he needed to get it done as soon as possible, but since the mana core was not of high enough quality, it took a long time and was not as high quality as he wanted.

Today he had to absorb the mana core. Otherwise everything would have been in vain.

"Four days is not enough time to both absorb the mana core and travel to the capital by car. It is best to use the mirror world."

The mirror world was a subspace of the world he was in. Time passed faster there than in the normal world. One day in the normal world was worth ten days in the mirror world. So he had to work there, as he always did.

Cale took a deep breath and sat cross-legged in the center of the room. He held his hands upside down at stomach level and put his thumbs together. When he joined the other four fingers, he formed an inverted triangle.

When he closed his eyes and focused, a green-blue sphere formed in the center of the triangle. As the colors swirled around each other, a small model of the world formed. The sphere slowly grew and enclosed Cale's body.

After taking Cale's body inside, the sphere suddenly shrunk and disappeared. In Cale's house there was only the sound of the wind and snow against the window, but Cale had entered the mirror world.

When he opened his eyes, he found himself in a green valley. The grass swayed as a warm wind caressed his body. As much as Cale wanted to enjoy this magnificent view, he had to focus on his work.

He had at most thirty days to spend here. So he sat cross-legged. He took off his sweater, revealing his muscular body. He looked at the core he took out of his pocket, glowing with black and purple energy.

Although the color looked blurry because it was not of good quality, Cale smashed the mana core in his fist. He immediately absorbed the energy leaking from the stone that shattered in his hand.

The energy traveling through the mana meridians was striving to break down the walls that every person had to break through in order to move up the ranks, but in Cale's case, the mana walls had already been broken. He still had to overcome the limits within himself to reach the required level.

When each person moved up in rank, they would try to break the walls at each level and then move up in rank. Because of the difficulty of the walls, people's progress became slower and slower as they moved up the ranks. For example, the difficulty of the wall on a hunter's body when he jumped from G+ rank to F- rank was different from the difficulty of the wall when he jumped from S+ rank to SS- rank.

That's why Cale didn't have much difficulty going from G+ to F-, but now he was struggling to go from F+ to E-.

For ten days Cale had struggled to absorb the tainted energy. His internal organs were damaged in the process. When Cale finished absorbing energy into his body, he fell unconscious and his body tried to heal itself for the remaining ten days.

---------------------------------------------------------

He spent the last ten days training to get used to his new situation. When Cale left the mirror world at the end of thirty days, he had one day left. So he packed quickly and left for the city of Armageddon after finishing his last errands in the city of Guista.

When he arrived in Armageddon in the evening of November 20th, he went straight to the Hoop Academy. After completing the entrance documents, he entered the Hoop Academy on the sky island.

The Hoop Academy was a fancy academy built on the sky island that towered over the city of Armageddon. From the outside, it looked like a historical castle with towering towers that made you feel like you were in medieval times.

Although it looked medieval from the outside, this academy was equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Students were placed in dormitories according to their ranking in school. There were two thousand students each semester.

The first ten students of each semester lived in the Golden Lion, 11-500 in the Sapphire Owl, 501-1000 in the Emerald Snake, 1001-1500 in the Ruby Spider and finally 1501-2000 in the Silver Wolf building.

Cale grimaced at the strange names given to the buildings, but his student card said he was staying in the Silver Wolf building. When he got to his room, it was a small single room like the one he had stayed in Guista. It was neat and clean, with a single bed, a wardrobe and a desk.

Cale took a bath to relieve his tiredness. He put his things in his room and ate the hamburger he had bought on the way. He sat down to train his chaos energy.

Tomorrow Cale would enter into the things he had been running away from since he came to this world. His life would intersect with the heroes of this world and he knew he would find himself in situations he did not want to be in. Yet he believed he would succeed.

He would survive in this world, make money and after it was all over, he would move to the countryside to live a peaceful life. This was Cale's desire.
