"Wolf. Oi, Wolf." A man called out to a figure slumped on the desk as he tried to shake them awake.

A small groan was heard from the figure as they shifted a little. Lifting their head a bit, their silver hair fell off of their arm to cover their face. "How many times have I told you not to call me that?" A tired, feminine voice asked in exhausted irritation.

"Boss wants to see you. You'll have to catch up on your nap later." The man chuckled, giving the girl a smack to her back to urge her up.

"Uhg, I swear if it's about the robbers yesterday." The woman groaned as she slowly stood up. Though her hair was short, it still helped to shape her small face as it hung over her reddened eyes. Her face was quite cute, but it was pretty easily missed with how common she looked.

"You already know it Wolf. Just get this over with and continue your nap. You should still have a few hours." The man sighed as he pulled out a cigarette and tucked the pack back in the front pocket of his uniform. "I'll be outside, just explain it like you did to the police."

"Yeah yeah, thanks for the vote of confidence John." Wolf sighed as she slapped his chest and shook her head.

After straightening her dark blue uniform, she finally dragged her fingers through her hair and swept it back. There it was revealed that she held several scars over her left eye, resembling the claws that almost blinded her when she was a child. This scar was what gave her the nickname Wolf throughout her life. The scar also brought out how fierce she looked with that resting bitch face she naturally had.

"Save one for me alright? The boss should leave after he's done with me." Wolf sighed as she left the small room they used as the observing room, with several computers showing the sights the cameras saw all over the bank.

"You're buying the next pack." John chuckled as he followed her out. Instead of walking with her to the left, he walked to the right towards the emergency exit.

"Yeah, I got it." Wolf waved over her shoulder with a sigh. John chuckled softly as he watched her walk to the offices, thinking about the chaos that was about to unfold.

As Wolf walked past the many doors of the workers, she recieved some greetings mixed with a few congratulations. All the workers looked up to her for what happened the other day, but Wolf couldn't really care less. Though she was happy she could actually do her job every once and a while, there was that long process that kept her up all night. And thanks to the person she was going to meet, she couldn't even go home until her shift was over today.

"Hey Winter!" A young lady called out as she walked over. She had a head full of long, lovely red locks with pasture green eyes to match. Her Irish genes held true, giving her pale, almost seductive looking skin and a pair of thin lips that was colored by some red lipstick. The sight made Wolf smile with a soft huff. This girl always called her by her name rather than her nickname and was always cheerful, unlike Wolf. Though Wolf could hardly find the heart to hate this girl since the moment they'd met all those years ago.

"Caitlyn, how are you? Should you still be working?" Wolf asked as she gave Caitlyn a tired smile.

"Woah, I should be asking you that, you're the one that had to shoot those people. Did you even go home last night?" Caitlyn asked as she eyed the bags under Winter's eyes.

"You know how it goes. I managed a few hours before John woke me up. Apparently the boss wants to speak with me about yesterday." Wolf sighed as she scratched the back of her head.

"Christ, I swear that man." Caitlyn snapped with a whisper, clicking her tongue and gripping the files she held in her arms. Thanks to the regular workouts, the woman was quite fit, making Wolf blush a bit as she eyed those curves.

"Well, how about we-"

"WOLF, GET YOUR ASS IN HERE!" A voice boomed from the far office, starting everyone else to a stop as they all looked at Wolf.

Clicking her tongue, Winter gently pat Caitlyn on the shoulder and gave her a smirk. "I'll ask you later, just take it easy, alright?"

"Please don't make this a big deal." Caitlyn sighed as she rubbed her forehead with her fingers.

"C'mon, you know me. I'll calm him down and make it all normal again." Winter chuckled sarcastically, making Caitlyn sigh with more exasperation.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Closing the door behind her, Winter walked over to the desk sat at the window of the large room. Behind the desk stood a man facing out the window, smoking a cigar that formed a mist around the woman. Though smoking wasn't allowed inside, the man used his power to have the smoke detector off so he could work while he smoked. From behind, Winter could see the grizzled grey hairs he had formed over his many years of work. Though he was an older man, he didn't have a single bald patch on his head, obviously well kept to keep this from happening. Under his tanned neck was a grey suit and pants that was professionally sewn to show how much he prided himself with his job. On the desk sat the man's nameplate, Cameron F. Magister.

As Winter stepped up to the desk, she raised her brow to the man and held her hands behind her back. "What's wrong boss?"

On hearing her words, the man sighed and dropped his head. "Winter, how many times have I told you?"

"Here it comes." Winter grumbled as she turned her head away with the click of her tongue.

The man then suddenly turned around and placed his hands on the desk. Unlike the angry expression anyone in the office was thinking he would have, his old, wrinkled face was instead covered in tears as he looked at her in worry. "Why did you have to jump in and be the hero? Can't you just make the others do all of that work?"

Winter sighed as she folded her arms over her chest and rubbed the bridge of her nose with one hand, shutting her eyes tight in irritation. "Dad, seriously? This is what you kept me here all day for?"

"Are you sure you aren't hurt? Did you have nightmares during your nap? Your mother was going to be here today, but her plane was delayed, so she will be here tomorrow for your birthday." The man threw a barrage of questions and worry as he walked up and eyed every part of Winter. Since he knew she wore the same uniform as yesterday, he checked every bit of clothing for any holes or marks.

Unlike the cold and unforgiving boss that everyone in the office thought this man was, this was his real personality. A total fool for his daughter. There was a time when she couldn't get enough of their relationship in the past, but now this man was simply overbearing. Not to mention her mother, who was on a business trip in Paris. Together they ran the biggest banking conglomerate in the U.S. with an iron hand and were looked up to favorably by many businesses that supported them, but to her, they were just doting parents.

"Dad, seriously. I haven't even been home all day, and neither have any of the others. Shouldn't we close the bank for today or something?" Winter snapped as she looked down at her father, who was checking her legs for bruises.

Clearing his throat, Cameron suddenly stood up and folded his arms over his chest. The room suddenly turned cold as his face frowned into a detestable look. "Unfortunately, that is not possible. From what I've heard from our associates, this was a power play from our rivals."

"What? I thought you and mom finally made the Brett Brothers stand down after what happened last time?" Winter snapped as she glared at her father.

"I'm surprised as well. With your mother's plane being delayed, I think this whole thing was planned out to get to the both of us." Cameron sighed as he shook head head. "Can't you take on a job at the desk like your mother and I wanted you to? I know it's boring sweety, but you'll get better hours, and you'll be able to get closer to Caitlyn~."

As the man teased her, Winter suddenly snapped and punched him in the stomach. Her face was flushed in a deep blush as she looked down at the slouched form. "Daddy, I swear to God. It's already bad enough that our shifts match, she's going to notice at this rate."

Though he was hunched over in pain, this was something the man had gotten used to. Realistically, it was his fault for training her in self-defense since she was a child. He didn't think he would be the one recieveing these punches back then, but he still couldn't help but admire how much she's grown.

"N-now now sweetheart. Daddy is doing everything he can to help you get closer to her. How about this, why not invite her for your birthday tomorrow? You can finally introduce us properly and we can show her we aren't so scary." The man chuckled as he stood back up, wiping a bit of drool off of his chin.

"And ruin your plan to be the hard fist over the company? I know well how hard it is for you to be the bad guy, Daddy. I've already said multiple times how loose lipped Caitlyn is, no offense to her." Winter pouted as she turned away with another blush.

"Look, sweety, your mother and I are both growing old. We've already given in and decided to give your brother the company, so can you please introduce us to her as your girlfriend?" Her father asked as he got on his knees and clutched her hand in his while giving her the best puppy eyes he could manage.

In all of her life, she couldn't resist these eyes. As much as this man was a fool for her, she was easily a Daddy's Girl. There was very little she wouldn't do for him, which she's proved yesterday by defending the company from those robbers, or attackers as her father knew them as. Finally, she sighed as she dropped her head and gave it a little shake.

"Well, if you hadn't suddenly shouted for me, that moment might have happened." Winter pouted as she looked away, feeling depressed now that she remembered being interrupted by him.

More tears streamed down the old man's face as he caught what she meant. If her brother Devon had been there, he would've definitely punched the man for breaking the moment his sister was aiming for. Her whole family already knew how hard it was for her to open up to someone. She wasn't blood related like her brother was, and she felt left out and alone because of it, no matter how much love they all showered her with. Unlike the jet-black hair of their mother and the brown eyes their father had, Wolf had silver hair and red eyes. The only reason she was a guard for her family's company was to help them out, but she didn't feel comfortable yet with saying they were family to the rest of the employees. Because of this, her father was forced to act the same way as he did to the others when they were in public, since it was all her decision.

Finally letting out a sigh, Winter looked down at her father and helped the man onto his feet. "Well Daddy, even if Caitlyn won't be there tomorrow, we still have Mommy and Devon coming back to us. Let's just get back together like we have all these years." She spoke softly as she wiped the tears from his face. Still seeing his pouting face, she gave a roll of her eyes and a giggle before getting on her toes to kiss his cheek.

This immediately brightened the man's mood, making him give her a bright smile and nodding quickly. "Yes yes. Oh, Grandma Elsa is also going to be here this year. It seems her health is recovering quickly, so she should he at the house by the time you wake up."

"Is it alright for her to be out though?" Winter asked with a worried look, looking down to the floor. She had been there when their Grandma had collapsed suddenly. The cause was due to her weakened body, but that didn't help with Winter's worry at all.

"Don't worry, your Grandma is tougher than your old man, I'm sure she will he happily chewing me out for letting you shoot someone again." He chuckled as he gently held Winter's cheek.

"Speaking of, I didn't...kill any of them, did I?" Winter asked with a deep fear. Though she'd shot plenty of people, she was still uncomfortable with taking someone's life.

"My dear child, with how good of a shot you are, you didn't kill a single one of the five men you shot yesterday. They are all recovering right now in the hospital before they will be dragged to jail for the rest of their lives." He sighed softly as he brought her in for a hug. "Don't worry, I made sure they would live, just for you."

"Thank you Daddy." Winter sighed in relief in a small voice, gently hugging him in return.

On hearing his phone ring, the man sighed and broke the hug slowly. "Sorry sweetheart, Daddy's got work to do. I'll see you tomorrow, alright?"

"Alright, just don't work all night again, okay?" Winter smiled softly as she turned to leave the room.

"I'll leave a little after you do. I love you, Winter." The man said as he sat against his desk, doing his best to look stern like he usually did.

"I love you too, Daddy." Winter replied before giving her own sigh, straightening her face back to what it was when she walked in and giving a confident smirk. This was their usual routine to hide her identity, making it look like Winter successfully calmed the fearsome Boss down.

After his daughter stepped out of the room and closed the door, Cameron gave a sigh and tapped the button on his phone. "What's your report?"

"They are all dead. We've successfully dealt with the Brett Brothers as well."

"Good, make sure your sister never hears of this. What of my other request?" His cold voice called back towards the voice. The man's aura was much different now, much angrier and more protective than he'd ever shown his daughter before.

"It took some time, but we were able to spread word around. The news should he up by tonight. Are you sure Winter won't watch it father?" Devons voice was as cold as his fathers, but the worry he had was very noticeable.

"I've kept her here all day and had John wake her up every once and a while to check up on her. She'll be to focused on her music to bother herself with the news." He sighed as he rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Has Elsa prepared what she needed?"

"She's with me now. I've taken a look at all of the items, and it seems like they will hold for a while. It was a bit rushed though, since my sister kept visiting her."

"That's understandable. Have the others work as much as they can to protect her over the next week. We must do our best until she gets used to it."

"And if the Siren shows up?"

"I don't care if the Siren, the Queen, or even that damned Traitor comes for her. We must give her the time she needs to Awaken properly, or else she will never be able to live with herself."

"As you wish, Father." Devon responded before hanging up the call.

The man then walked around the desk and looked out the window up to the sky. A long, weary sigh left his lips as he stared unblinking, a deep sadness clouding his vision. "Oh Moon, please allow that poor girl a proper life. That's all I ask."

It's time baby! Let's let our baby girl shine!
