Chapter 43: Roy's Quest
Roy walked into the lavish bedchambers that had been Katreena's in her youth. He stopped a moment still overwhelmed at the size. "We could fit our entire house in here."
"Shh," Katreena sweetly urged as she moved to him with a hot cup of cider ready for him. Smaller beds had been brought in for the children at Katreena's request. "It took four chapters of The Birds of Aronose to get them down tonight. Come join me by the fire."
The hearth was lined with fire stones that gave off most of the heat for the room, but also a small log fire in the center for some additional heat and illumination. A single plush chair was next to it. Katreena guided her husband to it, and once he was seated, she knelt onto the fur on the floor and rested her head on his lap.
"I had forgotten how much I missed this room."
"I wish I could provide better for you," Roy said running his fingers through her hair.
