Corruption

"Sir, how can I be of service to your mighty self today?" Eric said with the utmost respect and humility.

Not wanting to tell him the real reason I came here and disturbing him (who would like to hear that your body was 'analyzed' by a stranger?) I said "I'm hear to learn about the daily life of mortals. This is my first time coming down to a place filled with people." This part was indeed true, but then I started retelling the story of my coming from the mountains. This time however, Eric only slightly frowned before thinking that there were indeed occasions where people were blessed with items from the heavens. But Eric thought this was still too much and that most of this was probably a lie in a attempt to hide his identity.

"May I ask then exalted one, what are the names of your venerable parents." Eric asked planning to use this information to research my background and see how much trust he should put in me.

Searching my memories, it seemed that the guard hadn't thought that far and had just left them nameless. "Mr. and Mrs. Intercourse." I replied, thinking about that guard's favorite thing.

This made Eric cough. "What wonderful names." He said hoping that I wasn't offended.

"What would you like to learn about?" Eric asked getting back on track.

"Everything, especially hobbies, etiquette, reactions and thought process." Of course, I could just read more minds but that seemed pretty boring in my eyes. I decided to never use that ability on them again and observe like a normal person. "I want you to set up for me an ID, clothing and a 'resume' and that will allow me to live like a 'commoner'."

'Why would he want that?' Eric thought, 'is he taking a break from trying to break through to the 8th realm with the other level 1,000s and taking a vacation?'

"Great one.. err... I can't do that. It's illegal to make fake IDs." Suddenly a idea sprouted in this young mages mind.

Reading it, I laughed. So this was why no species has reached perfection.

"Of course I won't make you do it for free. I'll grant you one wish in return." I said with a knowing smile.

Eric smiled back not realizing what I did. 'It might actually work!' He thought to himself.

"In that case, I will make a exception for you, but only this once. Of course this is to help the empire or else I wouldn't dare do this." He said with a patriotic look, not the least bit sheepish. "When do you need it sir?" He asked

"As soon as possible, in the meantime, I'll like to take a look at the library in here."

"Of course, Of course, I'll be done in half in hour. I need to make some calls." He handed me a key and dashed off.

Though I had already learned all that was in the books of his personal library and other books he had read, he hadn't read all the books in the mage guild's library since he didn't have the time. I unlock the door and entered the library.

Books! Everywhere! In Eric's memories, this place was neat and tidy, but the last time he visited was 5 years ago. It seems in that time no one organized the books and those who read them didn't care enough to place them back properly. The books were on the floor, the tables and only a few were on the shelves. Tens of looming shelfs, with barely even 10% of the books on them. There were even a few pages that had "fallen" out of the books littering the floor.

*Sigh* I picked up a books"flipped" through it. Though what I truly was doing was reading it at high speeds but turning the pages slowly so as to not damage the book (further). One by one, I went through all the books, categorizing them into piles. After I finished all the books, I placed each one back on the shelves according to labels. I looked at the clock. I came in at 5:00 and know it was 6:30. 'Is Eric down yet?' I thought.

I left the library and scanned the building. The sun was starting to set and most of the staff had left.

There were only 3 people left. Two were in a place more densely packed with H2O than the surrounding rooms. The seemed to be quite close, almost as one being. And the other was underground.

Choosing to leave those two in peace I went down the stairs.

"Fine, I'll give you the video...Go jack off later! I need you to do this right now."

*Ahem* I cleared my throat alerting him to my presence.

Eric turned red instantly and pressed a button on the communication disk, ending the conversation with the other party.

"My apologies my lord, my contacts were being troublesome. I might need to give the items you requested to you tomorrow."

"Very well, state your request now. It will be given to you when you give me the card."

"Sir, I would like to be your disciple." Eric said. He had originally been pondering about the wish. His first choice had been wealth. However, remembering my story and seeing that my clothes were not that good he had changed his mind. In addition, now that he thought about it, the guidance of such a legendary figure was truly priceless.

"Don't you already have a master?" I teased.

"Yes, but we have not seen each other in at least a dozen years. Not to mention, we are at similar levels so we are more of equals. If you agree to be my master, I will cut off all ties with him for good if you wish it so." Eric was baffled 'How did he know I had a master? Have I underestimated his intelligence network?'

"Very well, after I get the card and vocal consent from your master face to face, I will become your new master."

"Thank you for the opportunity sir, rest assured, it will be done tomorrow. Can you please come back at 3:00 tomorrow?"

"Very well." I chuckled.

Continued Creator's thoughts= They also don't have coordinates so they are just blindly pushing energy into space and hoping for a connection. Like finding a certain plastic bottle in all the oceans.

Further notes- it is hard but not impossible to level in a lower realm. In a difference of 100 levels. If one is level 1,500 hunting in a field of 1,500s they need to kill 50 to advance to the next level with a plus one penalty after each level (level 1,501 will need to kill 51). A level 1,400 will need 5 with a plus one penalty every 5 levels. A level 1,600 will need to kill 500 with a penalty of 1 every level. There is a 1% chance to find beasts with EXP equal to 100 beasts of the same level. Though it is not impossible to level, the population of that strong beast will go down leading to less things to kill to level. This means most won't be able to reach higher levels to increase their life spans (the purer the energy in your body, the longer life expansion you will get). The amount of levels you need to increase life span (on average) is different across realms depending on the technique one uses. Though there are still expectations to all of the rules. Some world defying geniuses were talented enough to play by their own rules. Or you can just increase your vitality stat.

Priests can't level because their gods are all on the seventh realm and no god wants their priest as strong as them because it will cause them to loss power.

Cultivators can't level because the energy around them is not enough for them.

And those who drink potions can't level because the spirit plants around are not of high enough quality to help those who are strong level up.

Each realm can only be traveled to by ripping apart the space and connecting the two realms with energy. Originally they had 10 realms but for a reason long forgotten, everyone was pushed back into the 7th realm and bellow. Now, all the elites of the 7 realms are all trying to connect the spaces and go to the 8th realm where there are ancient treasures and the possibility of leveling up further. However, this would take a lot of energy since space gets stronger as one moves up the realms.
