Chapter 1 - Bearwood Brothers

White clouds in the morning. The clouds were thicker than usual and were moving westward by strong winds.

Directly below him a view of dense forest filled the land as far as the eye could see. In one part of the forest there is a large river that passes through the valley and then connects to a waterfall at the end of the forest.

A big wolf drinking from the river downstream. Suddenly a deafening sound was heard nearby.

Sstack!!!!...

In just an instant, a super-speed silhouette passed him. Then the Wolf who didn't notice anything even with trained beast instincts was instantly split in two.

In front of the wolf's body that was still bleeding, a young man stood staring while looking satisfied.

"With this, it is already ninth."

Cleansing the blood by flicking it, then sheathed back the long sword that the young man was currently holding.

Now the hunting quest has been completed.

The young man was named Kai Bearwood. He has the appearance of a young man that can be found anywhere, one thing that stands out about Kai is his shiny white hair. Making Kai quite charming in the eyes of women coupled with his face that is not too bad.

If Kai didn't have a side bangs hairstyle now, maybe there would be no difference between Kai and ordinary people in general.

Flicking the bangs sideways in order to spread the charm of a man on the girl near Kai now.

"Huh. Isn't your brother quite charming?"

"No, not cool at all... Maybe if you just held your head up a little it would be better."

Kai held his head up to follow his brother's suggestion.

"Enough?"

"On, On, on less high."

Following Kai's younger sister's direction, He kept his eyes on the sky until he saw a cloud Then stopped when Kai realized something.

"Wait, you pranked me?"

Kai's sister laughed sweetly.

"Xi.. xi.. xi.. xi, idiot."

For a young girl Kai's sister named Liona Bearwood was quite beautiful than a woman her age. Her sweet smile and gentle voice captivate any man, especially Leona has beautiful white hair like Kai.

Even though the girl's name is Leona which symbolizes firmness like a lion, but she is a girl with a gentle nature like an ordinary girl.

But behind all that Liona loves to tease her stupid older brother, indicating the extent of the familial relationship between the two.

They protect and complement each other, without one of them there would be no other.

In the midst of a moment's joke, something disturbed Liona.

"Brother... I thought our quest is now over. But it looks like another herd has come to add to the list of requests we have to deal with."

"Woah.., isn't that great news? Because that means we'll be paid more, right?"

Responding to her brother's stupid words, Liona smiled wryly.

For Lione. Adding more work than requested was actually quite a hassle, especially the fact that they were both adventurers where every quest taken was sometimes more dangerous than it seemed.

If possible, Lione always wanted to take quests that had a low level of danger but with high pay but Kai was always confident in his abilities which made Liona sometimes in trouble. Actually self-confidence is good but at least you have to know rationality in its use.

Taking a slow breath as if surrendering to Kai's behavior, who was getting excited.

"Sigh... Fine, fine.. Whatever.. Finish as quickly as possible."

From within the forest a pack of wolves showed their presence. They were about twenty-four in number, had strong fangs and teeth, their blood-red eyes glowed with a terrifying pressure.

For a rookie adventurer the Monster Wolf called [Shadow Red Eye] was strong enough, even for a group of E Rank Party to have to bring at least four people just to fight one of them.

However, Kai standing without fear in front of dozens of wolves accompanied by absolute confidence, showed how strong Kai was compared to other adventurers.

Kai took a long sword and prepared to fight.

Glancing for a moment at his little sister who was currently leaning against a tree, then said.

"Liona, I need a little help.."

"Oh.. come on bro, why do I always cast spells?! Can't you do it yourself, what's the point of being a Magic Swordman if you always rely on Magicians to cast spells"

"You are a mage capable of using [Third Tier Magic]. Your magic cast is much shorter than mine."

With a click of the tongue. Liona raised the wand she had been carrying all this time and then cast a spell.

"The great Fire Dragon Lord, please give your loyal retainer the power to scorch evil from the face of the earth.. [Enchant Fire Magic]."

The magic circle started to come out from in front of Liona's wand, getting bigger and bright red, lots of complicated inscriptions adorn the magic circle.

When Liona's magic circle disappeared, suddenly magic aura gathered around Kai then concentrated towards the long sword he was holding causing a bright red light to envelope the sword.

The aura around him began to heat up making the air feel as if it was being torn apart.

Lifting the long sword with both hands. then Kai shot like a bullet that was shot at a pack of wolves, Kai's fire sword instantly hit its target and then made a Horizontal slash towards a wolf so that the monster was split in two.

The blood of the monsters spread in the air right behind towards the other herd.

The blood had a certain amount of heat energy from Kai's sword, some of which evaporated in the air but some of it reached the herd. caused several wolves that were splashed with blood to start burning instantly.

"Three!... , four!... , five!... Now there are nineteen left!.. "

Kai continued the attack with several moves blindly, Burning and slashing a number of other wolves.

The pack of wolves that have now lost several members are getting angrier. Two of the tails charged forward to attack Kai, when the wolf approached one of them was hit by Kai's slash and burned heavily, while the remaining one reached Kai.

With strong reflexes. Kai resisted the attack using a sword, so the wolf's bite which was aimed at tearing his body was now restrained, after that Kai tightened his grip and then pushed the sword from the wolf's jaw.

The flames spread as Kai reached the Wolf's throat, setting the monster on fire to the point where the wolf became a piece of roast beef.

Half of the pack of Wolves charged simultaneously towards Kai. The silhouettes of the longswords slashed at several wolves as they tried to pounce, a lightning-like movement scorching every monster strike.

It didn't take long for Kai to be able to make flames fueled by the wolf's body.

"Weak… Too weak… I thought it would be a bit challenging."

When Kai gave off a great amount of energy, the wolves' instincts began to warn them that the adventurer ahead was very dangerous and then made moves as if they wanted to run away.

But all too late. A fire magic circle formed in front of Kai, then a spell was cast.

"Oh.. great Fire Dragon Lord the lord of Fire Magic.. , please lend me Heavenly Claws to slash everything that the Goddess doesn't want.. [Flame Slash]!!!"

Kai slashed the longsword into the air, then huge flames shot out from the slashing wave towards the remaining pack of wolves.

Hitting the target and then exploding, the entire pack of wolves were now annihilated by the holy fire of the [Fire Dragon Lord] spell belonging to a B rank adventurer named Kai Bearwood from the North Capital Adventurer's Guild.

Standing tall while sheathing his sword.

The scenery around Kai was filled with flames.

"Looks like there's nothing left."

When Kai said that, Liona reacted.

"If we report it to the Guild, the master will probably be happy to hear this news"

"You mean Guild Master Teodor??"

Liona nodded in agreement while showing a sweet smile, that smile had another meaning.

Kai smiled confidently when he realized what Liona really meant.

"Sure, I'll make him treat me to some food.."
