Hunter Creak

"Uncle Creak, why did you retire?" "Because I'm old, little one. I was old when I met your father, I was old when he was born." "Uncle Creak, who did you work for?" "I worked for many people, but all of us worked for the Navy. Can't tell you too much, little one, or else they'll chain me. I do secret work." "Uncle Creak, why'd you work with the Navy? Do they have a lot of money?" "Of course, they're the richest in the world. They own lots of islands, lots of ships, and they have the most magic. I learned my magic from them, and in the future, you might too." "Uncle Creak, if you did secret work, did you ever do something you didn't like?" "...Many times. Just a few years ago, before you arrived, I had to sail all the way north to look for someone. I never liked the cold." "Uncle Creak, dad said he'd come get me soon. It's been months now, where is he?" "He's... probably busy, little one. You know he works very hard. I have an idea, why don't we go to your new workshop? Your father told me it's time you learned how to be a real D'estla. We can start with the tiny defender, it'll scare off the roaches and the blobfish." "Eh, but I wanna stay here and wait for dad..." "Don't worry, little one, he'll be here soon. Trust me, he's probably in The City right now, making sure the cannons are working. He's a D'estla, and a D'estla never leaves their work unfinished, even if the world is against them." --- The age of gunpowder and spite befell Weizglass, built upon magic and steel that contested the old ways of iron. Their flags flying proudly in the air, The Navy sailed the seas, dragons alongside their sails as they ushered order. From the Left Reach they began their ambitions; 800 years they spent waging war against the unforgiving of the Northern Boundary, the horrifying monsters of the South Frontier, and the valiant warriors of the Eastern Edge. Their aspirations were almost accomplished, their fleets covered the endless water. Though, from the waters they claimed their own, some among the inhabitants disagreed with their rules, their systems, their laws.

The Start of a New Journey

Felix was the son of two of the greatest superheroes in the world, Captain Star and Lady Wonder, two powerful superheroes that helped keep two of the largest cities clear of villains and enemies. They had three kids before him, Stardust, Wonder Girl, and Kid Asteroid. Sidekicks and super powered kids and teens that would take up the mantle of superheroing after their parents eventually passed on the job. Needless to say, Felix wasn't like them, there wouldn't be an epic tale about him if he was just like the others. He didn't have powers, he was powerless, to use the title only given to children of powerborns that have no powers. He hated that term. When he was twelve, the age he would normally join the Sierra Academy, School for Heroes, Felix was met with the cold reality that he would never be a hero. He didn't have powers and was therefore ineligible to join. Well, many things can be said about the frankly, at times, bitter boy but never could anyone say he wasn't a damn persistent child. He was twelve years old when he ran away from home, it took a week before a search party was sent and some local villains got swept, Felix did the unimaginable. He escaped and he evaded superheroes, the so called greatest force on Earth. Fleeing to the cold, and unforgivable, Rocky Mountains, Felix met and befriended, as cliche as it sounds, monks. They were zealots to their belief but they took in the child and taught him how to defend himself, how to grow stronger and more powerful as time went on. Felix found a new family with them, but again, every tale needs tragic beginning and middle, and at the ripe age of fourteen, barely mastering the basic forms, the monastery was attacked. For all the heroes did, with international approval, they sometimes failed to catch the villains that needed no powers to cause mayhem and chaos. The Synadicate came and attacked, they destroyed the monastery and still almost lost despite outnumbering the monks twenty to one. Felix barely escaped with his life and instead stumbled into the mountains. Journeying in the cold frontier with nothing but cold rations and little equipment, Felix found himself feeling vengeful and angry, he wanted to face and find the Syndicate and take it down. He would hunt them down until they were wiped from the planet since the heroes were too busy to help the little people. Picking up blades and immeasurable anger Felix prepared himself for the ultimate war he would wage against them. He didn't need powers he realized, he would take them down without them. Returning to the world of civilization Felix marched on the Syndacate. He wasn't a good man so perhaps they shouldn't be so fearful but they should hardly underestimate him. He is a man on a mission after all.
