Chapter 24

"Goodnight," Inosuke stopped for a second and lowered his head as he mumbled and bit back the words. "Love you too." and walked off.

"I'm going to pretend I left in the morning," Isa whispered when Inosuke was out of earshot. "Do you mind playing it off?"

"So, you want me to say that you told me you wanted to leave and when I woke up and went to check on you, you were gone?" Kinote smirked.

"Yeah, goodnight," Isa chuckled.

"Night I'm going to go curl up under a tree," Kinote smiled and walked away as Isa laid on her bed. Later that night Isa sensed something and woke up.

"Nightmare?" Isa asked as Kinote jumped next to her on her bed as a fox.

"Yeah," Kinote sighed after he turned into himself and was sitting on the bed.

"Alright, you can stay with me," Isa smiled. "I'm sure Inosuke would mind but I don't,"

"Very funny," Kinote sighed sarcastically. "You think I'm cute, don't you?"

"Foxes are my favorite animals and they're really cute, it just so happens that you were a fox when I first saw you and you still chose to maintain that as the shapeshift you normally choose, foxes are your favorite animal too," Isa answered indirectly.

"That's your yes," Kinote laughed.

"Look, are you going to sleep or not?" Isa smirked.

"What are you gonna turn into in the morning?" Kinote asked.

"Mind if a spider hitches a ride," Isa smiled.

"Hidden in plain sight on my shoulder," Kinote laughed.

"I mean your scent will hide me," Isa replied.

"You're smart, but there's hardly any room for me," Kinote pointed out.

"Just lay down and stop hesitating," Isa laughed and scooted to the edge. Kinote then laid down and looked at Isa with an annoyed look. "Come closer to me, don't lay on the edge."

"Bur you…" Kinote tried.

"Just come closer," Isa sighed. Kinote then scooted closer and Isa laid her head on his chest and moved her legs a bit closer.

"Oh," Kinote blushed in shock. "I uh."

"Just go to sleep," Isa blushed softly. They both then fell asleep and Isa woke up in the morning and turned into a spider and rested on Kinote's shoulder before he woke up.

"I-Isa," Kinote woke up and realized Isa wasn't there and then put his hand next to his shoulder as he remembered what she said last night and Isa crawled onto his hand. "Ok then." Isa then crawled back onto his shoulder and then Kinote went over to the middle of the spots.

"Morning Kinote," Tanjiro walked over.

"Morning," Kinote replied. Inosuke and Zenitsu walked over.

"Where's Isa," Tanjiro asked. "I don't smell her scent."

"Well uh, she told me that she wanted to leave last night, and when I went to check on her she was gone," Kinote answered.
