Chapter 5: Gate Guards

As Oryo had gotten a new quest he had wanted to ask his system Atrox about it but was brutally denied and told that he would be able to communicate unless it was necessary.

Putting that aside, Oryo already his hands quite full with the task to leave the city without being caught, fortunately he did not have clue on how to use his power so it was unlikely he would get caught using it unless his luck was horrendous.

Oryo thought that he should take it a bit slow and ensure his safety and not act like dimwit, he thought he should make a intricate plan to escape and the first step should be to go on a scouting mission.

Oryo was very excited, anyone who saw him would think he had a problem but he always dreamt of this moment where he would have to escape the hell he was in with his newly gained power, all this time he thought of it as nothing but a dream but the saying "dreams do indeed come true" was repeating itself in his head.

However one thing he hadn't noticed was that he had been asleep for about 2 days but his body was completely fine, he thought of it as a perk of being a necromancer but he hadn't realised that he would slowly become more and more inhuman as his powers grew.

Not thinking of that, his first thought was to leave his apartment and aimed to get close enough to the gate that he would be able to scout it out and figure out a plan on how to escape unnoticed, he thought that it wouldn't be that hard as all he had to do was leave the city, little did he know that the city of Oryo was famous for its strengthened gate and wall defence, because if it wasn't it would have been overridden with beasts and monsters alike.

As he left his apartment without speaking to anyone as No one would want to talk to anyone in the part of the city he was in he slums, however that was a plus in Oryo's eyes as he didn't want to speak to anyone, another plus of living in the slums was that there were barely any guards patrolling at night and they were already pretty close to the wall due to the fact that if there was a monster attack and some of the monsters made it over only the people in the slums would suffer, going to show what power gave you in this world, Safety.

As Oryo traversed his way through to a small abandoned shack near the gate of the city, he could hear the footsteps of the guards from quite a distance, 'a perk of being a necromancer, definitely' he thought as he peeked through a hole in the alone to be able to see the guards who were very robust and strong just from a glance anyone could tell that apart from normal humans and awakened.

However as Oryo had seen and survived some small monster attacks that had occurred during his time in the city, he knew that they weren't very strict and most importantly most of them except a few and the captain were very slow which was an advantage for Oryo as he was very fast even when he was a normal unawakened human.
