"The Tower of Yin Spirits"
It has been half an hour since we returned to GOLDERT Castle, and the Langton City Police Department was alerted to the incident due to the commotion. They were still on high alert after the murder of Baron Albert and instantly sent all available staff to identify the kidnappers and find the mastermind behind the attack.
The efficiency of the state machine can be impressive when it is fully operational. Alvis arrived excitedly the next morning, still angry after a sleepless night. Someone had dared to kidnap his sister at the doorstep of his home, a clear provocation and disrespect towards the GOLDERT family.
Alex asked Alvis about the identity of the kidnappers while he was washing up. Alvis handed him a stack of documents that had been compiled by the police station and explained that the kidnappers were members of a criminal organization in Audell Cox District and had recently contacted the Tower of Yin Spirits, a cult known for its cruelty in the north-western province of the kingdom.
Alex remembered that his predecessor, Alex GOLDERT, had tried to join this same cult but was rejected and ultimately died. Alvis then thanked Alex on behalf of Viscount Ashby and presented him with a check for five hundred gold pounds.
As Alex pondered over this information, he realized that he had gained some psionic power after killing two demon parasites the previous night, leading him to wonder if this means he can upgrade his abilities by defeating creatures with extraordinary powers.
Alex is still unsure if his previous thoughts were correct, but he knows that the Tower of Yin Spirits is a dangerous group that will not give up after their failed kidnapping attempt. In fact, they will likely seek revenge on anyone who gets in their way, including Alex and Dr. Fauci.
Alex believes that the Tower of Yin Spirits will not dare to provoke Dr. Fauci due to their strength, but they may target the Viscount Ashby family, especially a junior magic apprentice. Alex is willing to use the Tower of Yin Spirits as a way to verify his previous thoughts but finding their secret stronghold will not be easy due to their mysterious nature as a cult.
In the following days, the police arrest some members of the cult, but they are only low-level members and there is no further progress in the investigation. Alex and Ella meet at the Peony Cafe and Ella is excited to hear about Alex's involvement in defeating the magician and two monster parasites from the Tower of Yin Spirits. Alex clarifies that he only dealt with the parasites and that Dr. Fauci actually killed the magician.
Ella was shocked when she heard that Alex had killed a demon parasite with his skeleton soldiers. She knew that these monsters were much stronger than the average skeleton soldier
. Alex explained to her that he had asked her to help find the secret base of the Tower of Yin Spirits in Langton City. Ella could not believe it and asked if he was joking, but Alex assured her that he was serious. He explained that the Tower of Yin Spirits would likely target him after their failed kidnapping attempt, and he wanted to take the initiative and strike first.
Alex also mentioned that he wanted to personally deal with the Tower of Yin Spirits and could not rely on Viscount Ashby to find their nest, so he had turned to Ella for help.
After Alex finished speaking, Ella thought for a moment before nodding and agreeing to take on the task. She asked for twenty gold pounds in payment, which Alex willingly provided. As Ella stood up to leave, Alex asked if she already knew the location of the Tower of Yin Spirits' old lair.
Ella evaded the question and told Alex to wait for her news the following day. When Alex returned to GOLDERT Castle, he met Alvis, who had just returned from an outing with a data bag in hand. Alvis told Alex that he had discovered the identity of the magic insect mage, but his expression indicated that this person's identity was not ordinary.
Alvis informed Alex that the worm mage who was killed by Dr. Fauci' Arcane Missile was actually the son and chosen heir of the Pope of the Tower of Yin Spirits, named Silver Trudeau. This caused concern for Alex as the Tower of Yin Spirits may seek revenge, even against Viscount Ashby's powerful and wealthy family.
Alvis quickly went to inform Viscount Ashby of this news while Alex returned to his residence. The Pope of the Tower of Yin Spirits, David True, is not particularly strong, but has the ability to communicate with entities outside the void, which has allowed him to hold the position of Pope.
Alex thinks that Pope David Trudeau sent Viscount Ashby a warning and a threat by seizing Lelisa in response to a quarrel or a deal gone awry. Alex is aware that, despite Viscount Ashby's outward appearance of kindness and generosity, he and his son Alvis are dishonest nobility who conduct covert business with followers of the Tower of Shadows. However, Alexis not thinking of himself as a good friend and is just interested in finishing the [Tower of Yin Spirits]as a dungeon.
Ella failed to arrive as planned and instead sent a message explaining that something had gone wrong. Alex learned that the Tower of Yin Spirit had recently disappeared from Langton City, causing Viscount Ashby to mobilize the military and police forces with no success. Understanding the situation, Alex decided to remain at GOLDERT Castle for a few days to practice magic while waiting for a two-day grace period granted by Ella.
