15 - The Second Challenge & First Rewards

"BOOM!" The Cave shook as some weaker willed or nervous people screamed in fright.

But luckily for everyone the tunnel didn't collapse and cave in on itself, allowing everyone to breathe a sigh of relief.

"Well what now?" Michael asked Victor.

"Well now the challenge should have ended, so a portal should appear in front of us any second now.." Victor said as he looked around the cave at all of the different people.

They had helped a total of 24 people, so the cave was quite a bit crowded. This on top of being a small space didn't help and made some people panic or become nervous at the tight space.

"Umm, Thank you.. Umm I'm Samantha Robbins. Once again me and my team thank you." A young girl still in highschool came up with four others and thanked Victor and Michael for helping them.

"Yeah thanks guys." A boy from their group quickly followed with his gratitude.

"Huh? Oh it's no problem, I'm Michael and this is Victor." Michael spoke as he placed his hand on Victor's shoulder as he smiled.

"Well if there's anything you guys need help with or anything we can do to repay you, please do let's us know." Another Girl step forward and said with a face full of gratitude.

"It's all good." Victor replied with his normal expression a emotionless cold face.

This caused them to only nod their heads because of Victor's cold face.

"Oh don't worry about him, that's just his normal face." Michael said as he pat Victor's back and explained.

However before they could continue a portal appeared under everyone's feet making them all fall through not able to react.

When Victor regain his vision he was in a room made of white gold with Michael.

"Where are we?" Michael asked getting up from the ground while rubbing his sore butt.

"This should be a reward room for passing the first challenge." Answered Victor as he looked around the room.

The walls were made of polished white gold with intricate patents of flames made of rubies and fire crystals, the ceiling was made of a the same metal as the floor and walls but it had clouds and tornado intricate patents made of diamonds and Wind Mana stones.

But what caught Victor's attention was the ten floating glass boxes in the room, five were on Michael's side and five on Victor's side.

Standing up Victor moved over to the boxes on his side, getting closer he found that there was a different item in each.

A book, staff, robe, boots and a scroll.

[ Spell Book (Small Flame) ]

[ Lesser Fire Staff (Iron) ]

[ Lesser Magic Robes of Fire (Iron) ]

[ Boots of Cinder (Iron) ]

[ Magic Scroll of Fireball (Tier 0) ]

Moving over Victor checked all of the boxes but his attention was mainly taken by the Spell book.

Spell Books are like skill books but they are not learned instantly, as they contain stronger and more complicated spells.

The only way to learn magic spells instantly is if it's a spell of the lowest quality or through a Class Skill Book or Special Skill Book.

But they only allow you to learn spells pertaining to your class, infact there are 7 different types.

Skill Books, Battle art, Mana art, Spell Books, Magic Books, Class Skill Books and Special Skill Books.

Skill Books: Are mainly physical abilities or weak entry spells, there are abilities for every type of class from tanks, mages, rangers, thiefs, tamers, priestesses and all other classes.

Battle art: Are only for physical type or some other classes, they contain martial arts, movement arts, aura, abilities, weapon intent (Sword, spear and more) and other knowledge or techniques.

Mana art: A way to strengthen, refine or change your Mana to a certain element, can also improve the regeneration of Mana through meditation and also add special effects to your Mana. Will also add special abilities or spells to the User.

Spell Books: Contain the magic knowledge of a spell, allowing you to learn the spell or advance your understanding of magic through study.

Magic Books: Containing the knowledge and essence of Magic they may have complicated knowledge of magic, complicated spells, magic knowledge of a path of Magic or element, Magic rituals, knowledge of the world or other realms that can be learned through understanding or study.

Class Skill Books: Class Skill Books gives a random ability or spell from the users class, guaranteeing the user to get a something pertaining to their class.

Special Skill Books: Gives rare or unique spells or abilities from the users class which can not be learned from normal skill or Class Books.

Skipping over the other things Victor grabbed the Spell book box as the others disappeared but Victor didn't pay any attention to them as the glass box opened allowing Victor to take the Spell book out.

Allowing his Grimoire to absorb it he checked it's cost to learn.

[ Magic Knowledge ]

[Tier 0]

| Air Bullet (Common) - Wind - Ranged/Damage - Costs 100 Souls |

| Small Flame (Uncommon) - Fire - Ranged/Damage - Costs 500 Souls |

'Huh, that's expensive...' Victor thought as he saw the cost of the spell, he had also noticed that the spells now had a quality next to them showing their strength or the complication of learning or using the different spells.

"Hey look at what I got!" Michael spoke as he showed off a Skill Book to Victor.

[Skill Book: Hot Blade]

(Learn the ability Hot Blade upon use)

[Requirements: Sword Type Class]

"Nice pick." Victor gave him a thumbs up at his choice.

But both of their attentions was dawn to a new portal appearing.

"Well I guess we can start the next challenge now." Michael said as Victor nodded in agreement.

As they both entered the portal, on the other side they stepped out into a large coliseum made of white polished stone.

The stands were empty without a soul in sight, the touches along the walls and stands lighting up one by one in a powerful golden flame lighting up the whole coliseum as they appeared, but what they payed attention to was the large floating white letters above them.

[ Second Trial - Constant Battle ]

Both Michael and Victor got ready for battle, Michael pulled out his sword and shield, while Victor raised his staff before summoning all his new Skeletons and his only Skeleton Wolf.

As they got ready a white Magic Circle appeared on the ground as two level 5 monsters appeared.

[ Goblin (Normal) - Lvl 5 ]

[ Goblin (Normal) - Lvl 5 ]

Two small ugly green humanoid creatures came out of the magic light. 50 to 60cm in height, they had short little legs and arms with small stubby hands made of 4 fingers ending with disgusting sharp yellow nails.

A long skinny gross tongue hidden behind crooked sharp yellow pointed teeth, faces were filled with evil as their yellow eerie eyes with black slit pupils looked around with slight fear.

Large green pointy green ears on either side of their small head, matching the long ugly pointy nose protruding from their face.

They both held poorly made stone knifes as they looked over to Michael and Victor before screaming.

"Screech!" The two goblins charged forwards as they raised their terrible trashy weapons.

"Huh Goblins, well this could be tough." Michael said as he prepared for battle.

Goblins small humanoid intelligent monsters are seen as a entry level monster by some but those who do are usually rookies who die first.

Goblins come in all sorts of types and strengths and although not as intelligent as humans they can trick or ambush people.

And Goblins have units that can be insanely physically strong or possess powerful magic and intelligence so under no circumstances they should be looked down upon.

For this reason both Michael and Victor became serious, as Victor quickly thought of their weaknesses and he remember one that will be extremely helpful.

Normal Goblins without a leader are easily acceptable to fear, and what's more frightening than to fight the very dead.

"Fortunately for us we're in a open area with no long grass, so we don't have to worry about being ambushed. But still remember even though Normal Goblins are slower and weaker, they are shorter and can attack at different angles then humans so watch out." Victor warned as he got ready as he ordered his summons to attack.
