Chapter 116: Your Son is Already Dead
In the God General's Mansion, within the Shanhe Courtyard.
In a luxurious and elegant room, on a soft bed, the young boy slowly awakened.
Li Hao had a dream, in which his body seemed weightless, soaring through the heavens.
He flew over grasslands, rivers, lakes, alongside birds, traversing mountains and earth.
Countless streams converged, gradually forming an ancient character.
That character was his name.
Then Li Hao woke up. As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw an old, concerned face floating in front of him.
"Hao'er!"
Li Muxiu exclaimed in surprise, quickly asking, "You finally woke up. How are you feeling?"
Over the past two days, Li Hao's body had been cleaned by his maidservant Qingzhi, all the bloodstains wiped away, and he had been dressed in clean clothes. The broken skin and fractured ribs were gradually healing under the regular checks by Li Muxiu and the physician.
To heal such severe injuries was indeed the ability of the "Immortal Realm." Even though Li Hao hadn't reached the Immortal Realm, his special physique was remarkable.
"Where is this..."
Li Hao's confused gaze gradually focused, and soon, his expression changed. He recognized this as his room.
Does that mean he's still in the God General's Mansion?
He quickly sat up, but the movement caused sharp pain in his not-yet-healed ribs, the wounds slightly reopening, seeping blood.
The clean white clothes he had changed into were quickly stained with red.
"Hao'er, rest first." Li Muxiu hurriedly said.
But Li Hao had already sat up. He took a deep breath, looking at the concerned Second Grandpa. His gaze swept the room, noticing only Qingzhi besides Li Muxiu.
Seeing Li Hao's gaze, Li Muxiu said, "Your Fifth Grandpa still has to guard the ancestral hall, but he can sense any commotion here."
Li Hao smiled and nodded. He then released his spirit, letting it roam the Shanhe Courtyard, where he saw the anxious and worried Li Yuanzhao and Bian Ruxue.
Additionally, he saw Li Wushuang and his sister Li Zhining pacing outside the courtyard.
Finally, in a corner, he spotted the little white fox, hiding among some flowers, its wounds seemingly healed.
Li Hao breathed a sigh of relief, retracting his spirit back into his body, and smiled, "Thank you, Second Grandpa, for saving my life!"
Li Muxiu's expression changed slightly. He whispered, "Hao'er, your father didn't intend to kill you. He was just temporarily insane. You two are father and son, you should..."
At this point, he suddenly couldn't continue.
He originally wanted to say, you should understand him.
Li Muxiu ultimately hoped for harmony between father and son.
But facing a pale, severely injured child, asking him to understand such a stubborn father seemed cruel.
However, Li Hao had already caught the meaning behind Second Grandpa's words. He smiled and said to Qingzhi, "Please bring me my outer garment."
Qingzhi, seeing Li Hao awake, was overjoyed. Her previous weariness vanished, and she quickly nodded.
"Hao'er, what are you planning? Your wounds aren't healed yet. Rest first." Li Muxiu quickly said.
Li Hao slightly shook his head, suddenly thinking of something, he asked, "Second Grandpa, do you know about my mother? Does she come from the Great Wilderness Heaven?"
Li Muxiu was stunned, "Who told you this, Tiangang?"
Hearing that name, Li Hao's brows furrowed instinctively. He shook his head, "Second Grandpa, please tell me."
Li Muxiu thought Li Hao knew everything, sighed, "Your mother's identity is complicated. She indeed comes from the Great Wilderness Heaven. She met your father by chance. Back then, this marriage was opposed by everyone, but in the end, no one wanted to separate them."
Li Hao's lips twitched slightly but he said nothing.
"Are you thinking of finding your mother?" Li Muxiu suddenly asked.
Li Hao was stunned, "Isn't my mother dead?"
"Hmm?"
Li Muxiu was also stunned, realizing he misspoke, and was momentarily speechless.
Li Hao saw his expression change and quickly asked, "Second Grandpa, you know something, don't you? Tell me!"
Li Muxiu looked into his eyes, thought for a moment, and sighed, "You have the right to know. Your father didn't tell you for good reason. After all, she returned to the Great Wilderness Heaven. She shouldn't come out again, especially after bearing a child."
Li Hao was shocked. His mother wasn't dead?
"Though your mother isn't dead, you probably won't see her again. Child, don't try to find her. The Great Wilderness Heaven is vast and dangerous, even for someone at the Four Polar Realms."
Li Muxiu said to Li Hao, "With your current skills, entering the Great Wilderness Heaven would be certain death. Besides, even if you went, you might not find her. Even I don't know where their clan is located..."
Li Hao was momentarily stunned but regained his composure.
He smiled and nodded, "Don't worry, Second Grandpa. I won't take risks. Even if I go, it won't be until I have the power to roam the Great Wilderness Heaven."
His words were sincere. Had it been right after meeting Li Tiangang, Li Hao might have had the impulse to take risks. But now, he only wanted to live his life well.
After all, not seeing her for over ten years wasn't a big deal.
Li Muxiu, seeing Li Hao's response, also sighed in relief, "It's good that you think so."
Li Hao smiled slightly. When Qingzhi brought the clothes, he quietly dressed. Once ready, he took a deep breath and looked at Second Grandpa.
Softly, he said, "Second Grandpa, the world is vast. I can no longer stay here to fish with you."
Li Muxiu's pupils shrank sharply, his face changing, "Hao'er, what are you planning?"
Li Hao looked towards the courtyard, "I won't stay here any longer."
"Young Master!" Qingzhi couldn't help but exclaim in disbelief.
Li Hao slowly walked out of the room into the courtyard.
Seeing Li Hao recovered, Li Yuanzhao and Bian Ruxue, who were waiting in the courtyard, immediately noticed and rushed over in surprise.
"Hao-ge!" Li Yuanzhao called out.
Bian Ruxue was equally delighted, "Have you recovered?"
Seeing them, Li Hao smiled and said to Li Yuanzhao, "From now on, you must train well on your own."
Li Yuanzhao was stunned, "Hao-ge, are you..."
Li Hao's gaze slowly swept over the courtyard where he had spent fourteen years.
The flowers, plants, and trees inside were all familiar to him.
He had even painted many of these places.
But now, none of it mattered.
The weather was already chilly, the late autumn leaves long since fallen. The ground's withered yellow leaves had been swept clean by the servants, giving a sense of cold frost.
Li Hao said nothing and walked slowly towards a corner of the courtyard.
The others hurriedly followed, with Li Yuanzhao anxiously asking questions.
Finally, Li Hao arrived at a spot among the flowers and plants, surrounded by a circle of stones, off-limits to stepping.
He paused, then slowly and deeply bowed.
"Uncle Lin, farewell. Take care."
After speaking, Li Hao gave a deep look, then turned around. His spirit reached out to gently touch the little white fox in the courtyard.
The little white fox, sensing Li Hao's presence, joyfully rushed over, stopping at Li Hao's feet.
Li Hao smiled and then looked at Second Grandpa, solemnly saying, "Second Grandpa, thank you for taking care of me all these years. If I have the chance, I will repay you in the future."
He bowed deeply once again.
Li Muxiu's face changed drastically, "Hao'er, you..."
Li Yuanzhao anxiously asked, "Hao-ge, are you leaving?"
Li Hao looked at him, smiled, and patted his shoulder, "Hao-ge is leaving."
"Hao-ge!" Bian Ruxue was also anxious but didn't know what to say.
"Where are you going?"
An icy, angry voice suddenly came from behind.
Li Hao's smile slowly faded, not turning around.
The little white fox shivered in fear but then bared its teeth, standing protectively behind Li Hao, facing Li Tiangang.
"Tiangang!"
Li Muxiu saw Li Tiangang approaching, flanked by Yu Xuan, Li Fu, and Zhao Bo.
His face filled with anger, "What kind of tone is that? Can't you speak nicely to Hao'er?"
Li Tiangang's expression was dark. He had been recovering over the past two days and was mostly healed. With persuasion from his other brothers, he intended to ease the tension.
But seeing Li Hao first visit others in the courtyard and then prepare to leave without seeing him fueled his anger once more.
"Just recovered and already so defiant?"
Li Tiangang coldly said.
Li Hao's mouth twitched slightly. He turned around, quietly looking at the man before him: "So, do you want to fight again?"
As he spoke, his aura became evident.
"Good, good, good!"
Li Tiangang, seeing this, was so angry his face turned red, but he held back this time.
After violating his vow and being severely injured, fighting again would worsen his condition. In his fourteen years in the north, he had rarely suffered such injuries.
"Very well, just entered the Heavenly Realm, and already beyond control!"
Li Tiangang's eyes were piercingly cold.
Li Hao looked at him calmly, no longer feeling any emotional turmoil, "From now on, you have no right to talk about controlling me. I am no longer your son. I said before, your son was killed long ago."
"What do you mean?!"
Li Tiangang coldly said.
Li Hao calmly looked at him, "Don't you remember? Well, let me remind you. Do you recall why Fu Bo returned?"
Hearing this, everyone was stunned.
Fu Bo's return was naturally due to Li Hao's assassination at age six, when a human slave of the demon clan infiltrated the mansion.
"At age six, your son should have died, because you were defending the borders!"
Li Hao said indifferently, "You thought some expert saved me? The assassin was killed by my own hands!"
"Before he died, he said I was your weakest point. Ha, trying to assassinate me to destabilize you. Now, I think the demon clan overestimated themselves."
Hearing this, everyone was stunned, their pupils contracting, looking at Li Hao in shock.
