Finding a way up

I craned my next back to look of at the resonating pillar of metal that stretched away into the sky although it seemed unlikely maybe this pillar led up to some kind of city and there was a small door set into the pillar supporting my theory but I still felt hesitant about proceeding this way 'should I try to go up with the pillar or should I try my luck at sneaking on board one of the airships' I thought to myself. I scanned the surrounding area, seeing no one around.
