"I hate when people call me out of the blue," he replied bluntly.
Savannah couldn't believe the audacity of this man! It was certainly out of this world!
She had never met a man so blunt in her entire life! Or should she say a man who wasn't ready to kiss her rubbish!
It only made her even more curious to know the sort of person he was. Why was he so out of reach?
"The level of your boldness doesn't seem to get any lower, does it? You have so much confidence in a service boy, you know that's right?"
Elijah, who had been having a horrible day, leaned back in his seat with a sinister smile on his face.
He had been thinking about her all day, and he was starting to debate between calling her number to check up on her or not.
Seeing her take that step first, he took off that burden of appearing desperate, off his shoulders.
"Like you said, I'm a service boy. You're not the only one I am attending to. Why did you call? I really have to get back to work," Elijah said dismissively.
Deep down in him, he wanted his call to last for as long as possible. He couldn't tell why, but Savannah was certainly his latest fascination.
"Didn't you read the agreement? You're not going to be working for anyone else but me, during the time that we will be together!" She snapped.
What if he runs into someone who knows her family and things get messy?! He can't be this careless!
"When I say I'm working, it doesn't mean I am with another woman. Why did you call?: Elijah asked once more.
The thoughts of Alex being with another woman only made Savannah very upset.
She couldn't just imagine another woman kissing him or even touching him in the slightest!
Elijah smirked, if only she knew that he could hear her thoughts..
"How is your shopping going? It seems you are having quite a lot of fun." Elijah said out of the blue.
Savannah scans her environment. She doesn't mention anything about shopping. How on earth did he know that she was at the store right now?
"Are you watching me right now? How did you know I was in a store?" She asked, feeling like he was staring at her from a distance.
"Your grandmother's birthday is going to be coming up tomorrow. It's only reasonable for you to go shopping today. Did I guess wrong?" Elijah asked, covering his tracks quite nicely.
"Well," Savannah said, leaning back on the counter.
"I did go shopping today and I called you, so you can do the same. You can't appear before my family in a tacky suit! They will kick your ass right out! Do you understand?"
Elijah wished he could rub it in her face, but he decided not to.
"You have nothing to worry about. I will make sure to get my suit ready. Is that all?" he asked.
Savannah couldn't believe that he was so much in a rush to get her off the phone!
Goodness, this is not the kind of behavior men often give her!
A lot of them were more than ready to wipe her feet with their tongues if she asked them to do so!
Here he was, acting like he was in charge of everything going on.
At the same time, it only seemed to attract her to him.
"Yes, that will be all. I will send my driver to come pick you up.."
"I don't think that will be necessary. Send me the address and I'll meet you there. Or would you rather have me pick you up at your place instead?" Elijah asked.
Savannah chuckled, this man was full of surprises.
"Don't worry, I'll send you the address instead. We can meet there."
"Alright then. I hope you have a lovely day." Elijah ended the call just as Damon walked into the room.
One look at that man's face, and he knew something was definitely wrong.
"What is it? You look like you tasted poison." Elijah teased as his phone chimed with a text from Savannah.
He smirked at the last part of her message," Don't be late."
Never has anyone addressed him with such audacity in his entire life!
Speaking to him nonchalantly was the same as asking for death on a silver platter!
"The girl from Kane's party? The one you were with? She's related to a police officer and things might get messy" he said, a bit concerned.
Elijah leaned back in his seat. This was learning from the kind of news he was hoping to hear on a day like this.
"And why is that going to be a problem? It happened at Kane's party, he should sort it out."
Damon sat on the chair opposite Elijah, a look of relief washing over him.
"Yes. He's doing everything he can to get this cleaned up, but the problem is…the way you drained the girl. It was very messy. I've never seen you have a sip and leave a mark like that before." He said.
Elijah exhaled, this happened as a result of him thinking about Savannah.
"Call Sara. I need to get a fitting done today." Elijah said, dismissively.
"A fitting? Are you heading somewhere?" Damon asked.
Elijah smirks," I have a job, remember? I need to be someone's fake fiance."
Damon chuckled. "You're seriously going to do this? Play fake fiance for some spoiled brat?" he asked.
Damon saw Elijah as an untouchable man. The sort that cannot be controlled or forced to do anything.
Here he was, voluntarily accepting to be someone's date at a family function! It felt like a dream!
"How bad could it be?" Elijah asked.
"You have a point. I'm curious to know what made you play along. Was it her scent? Is the smell that good?" Damon asked.
That was one thing he couldn't pinpoint. Why was he fascinated by her? Was it because her blood smelled so…different? And enticing?
"I don't know. But I'll find out."
