Chapter 3: Creating My First Monsters

As I opened my [Dungeon Creation] menu and looked up Monsters I was surprised to find that to get my monsters for the Dungeon I had to roll for them in a wheel...

I had three free tries and for every role after that, it would cost me 500 EXP...

So, using the three rolls all at once I watched as a Slot Machine appeared, and with a simple pull of a lever, I watched as the three options began to spin.

Soon the first row began to slow down before stopping.

[Congratulations on unlocking a new Monster!]

[Monster: Slime

Gender: Asexual

Rank: F

Description: A small translucent ball of slime that has the innate ability to eat anything with enough time.

Creation Cost: 15 Mana per slime

Note: Slimes are considered one of the weakest Monsters and while they are weak, they have a great potential for future evolutions].

After reading through the monster description I just sighed and accepted it before waiting for my next monster.

[Congratulation on unlocking a new Monster!]

[Monster: Lizard

Gender: Male(50%)/Female(50%)

Rank: F

Description: A quadrupedal lizard that has a long tail and two eyes that help it see in the dark and teeth that can help it tear through a small amount of flesh

Creation Cost: 20 Mana per lizard

Note: Lizards are weak monsters with low combat power and are not suitable for hunting down targets larger than itself]

.

[Congratulations on unlocking a new Monster!]

[Monster: Cave Goblin

Gender: Male(99%)/Female(1%)

Rank: F

Description: A weak race of humanoids that have pale gray skin. Standing at 3 and a half feet to 4 feet a Cave Goblin is capable of using weapons, armor, and even magic but due to their low intelligence and cowardly nature, they are easily slain by even normal humans

Creation Cost: 50 Mana per Cave Goblin

Note: Goblins have a tribal society and are considered kill-on-sight by most races]

.

Looking at all three monsters I slightly frowned.

All three of the monsters were weak...

Goblins were my only hope if I were to get attacked by other humans and humanoids and even Goblins are not a match for most normal humans...

And now that I had my Monsters selected I needed to start creating an Ecosystem for the first floor.

This was a definite requirement since my monsters need food and water to survive.

While I could just feed them with my Mana I decided against this because Mana is an important resource to any Dungeon.

Besides monsters, I also had the option to add animals and insects to the dungeon, but for this, I do not need to do a draw.

So first I wanted to add plant life to the dungeon, then I would add insects, then animals, and finally the monsters.

So I got to work.

Due to the lack of daylight in the Dungeon, I would have to go with Fungi and Plants that eat mana for the plant life in the dungeon.

And when it comes to Plants that feed on mana they do not affect my mana regeneration at all since they feed on the ambient mana produced in and around the dungeon.

Opening my Dungeon Creation Menu I began scrolling through the Plants Menu and found a very useful plant.

[Plant Name: Neptune's Flower

Type: Mana Eating Flower

Description: A Flower with the magic attribute of water, the flower gathers the ambient mana in the air around it and condenses the mana into fresh drinkable water in a small pond around the flower's base that is the size of a hand.

Creation Cost: 10 Mana per flower

Note: When multiple of these flowers are grouped together their ponds become connected. When there is a group of these flowers around each other their Mana Gathering speed increase which in turn increases the speed at which water is created]

Finding this flower to be absolutely perfect for the Dungeon I created three such flowers for all the rooms besides my Core Room which took some time and once I created all the flowers I waited until my Mana regenerated.

[Mana Gathering has leveled up!]

With the sudden level up that increased my hourly mana regeneration from 10 points to 20, I gladly welcomed the level.

With the water situation currently taken care of, I began looking through the other kinds of plant life I could create.

Soon finding another Mana Eating plant that would create water I began reading through the description.

[Plant Name: Water Vine

Type: Mana Eating Vine

Description: A simple and common vine found in mana-rich areas. The vine gathers ambient mana and condensed it into water that is stored within its body.

Creation Cost: 10 Mana per vine]

With another way for my inhabitants to get water, I chose to begin planting these Vines within the walls of the dungeon.

Once done I waited for my Mana to refill and then got to work on finding edible plants for my inhabitants.

Once I found several different plants that would act as a food source for the animals and insects soon to come to my Dungeon I planted them across the dungeon.

Now that I had both food and water available in my Dungeon I got to work on creating insects such as ants, spiders, worms, and many more kinds while I created rabbits, squirrels, small birds, and more.

Due to the increasing number of things I have been adding to my dungeon I had to expand the size of all the rooms by 30 meters!

Before I realized it I continued to increase the size of all the rooms more and more and once I stopped all of the rooms besides my dungeon core measured at 150 meters in length and width...

[Magic Mining has leveled up!]

That's understandable...

Anyway, with the massive increase in size, I had to add more plants to the rooms which took me quite a while...

In the end, I just decided to connect the three rooms of the three paths together making a forest that the invaders would have to travel through to get to the final room.

Once I was done with all of that I finally started adding my monsters.

In all of the rooms, I added the Lizards and after that, I added the slimes to all of the rooms.

And finally, the very expensive Cave Goblins which cost me a whopping 50 Mana for every goblin.

I created a small tribe of goblins with all of the goblins gathering in the final room just before my Core Room.

With 10 Goblins in the tribe, I watched as 10 small individuals with gray skin and loincloths appear in the room.

As the goblins looked around while talking to each other in their weird broken Goblin Language I began trying to 'speak' with them.
