The Investigation of Northwest Squad(4) ―― Absurd Reality
We departed before sunrise, heading to the marshlands in the northwest.
Two days before the demon race army's raid. Racing against time. We had to arrive by the end of the day. I wanted to raise
our walking speed but…
This was the limit of Chato and co's pace. As expected, it might be faster if I was the only one looking for the strongest
existence. Against my expectation, Rami could easily keep up with my pace without breaking a sweat, when everyone was
barely hanging in there.
Anyhow, everyone had reached their limit. We had to take a break.
When I leaned my back on the trunk of huge tree,
「But, are you sure that the strongest existence is in this marshland?」
Bhu asked the matter which also became my biggest concern right now.
「Yeah, maybe.」
「Maybe? Are you guys going to search for someone with such vague idea?」
Smiling wryly to Rami who asked dumbfoundedly, I,
「But, I believe that we will find that person here.」
I'm sure that he was somewhere in the northwest area. Though I realized that I had yet to persuade everyone that this was
the place, the truth was far cry from that.
In my dream, he mentioned about 『Game』 repeatedly. Properly speaking, I was supposed to fight against Aldebaran and
co. Seeing that he was in the position of a spectator, in normal situations, he wouldn't place himself inside the game. But, he
was an enigmatic existence. There was a high possibility of him watching the game inside from a place protected by some

sort of special barrier. That's why there was a contradiction in my own opinion.
As for why I'm heading straight toward the northwest direction, honestly I myself have no idea why I was heading in this
direction. I just know that he was somewhere in the northwest direction of North Grand. Yes, I am somehow convinced of this.
And this feeling had only become stronger and stronger as I saw that prophetic dream.
Though it sounds like a huge contradiction, I knew that I could meet him somewhere in the northwest.
「Are you really going to play along with this man? I mean, you guys are monsters and he is a human right?」
Hearing Rami's question,
「Man, that's hit my sore spot.」
Chato scratched his head awkwardly,
「Yup, the me from a while ago would definitely oppose him.」
Tama was also throwing an appropriate reply.
「Well, Gil must've a reason for his claim.」
「Yeah. He will do something about this situation.」
Though Rami was looking as if everyone was some sort of exotic creature,
「You guys are insane.」
She spat those words seemingly coming from the bottom of her heart.
We started walking again after our short break.
「Be Careful, we're entering their territory.」
Everyone nodded upon hearing my warning.
Rami was the only one who yawned, seemingly not caring about my warning at all. I heaved a sigh seeing her carefree
attitude and just as we took a few steps ahead, I felt as if my entire body suddenly submerged into water.
I felt the inside of my stomach being churned around as unbearable pressure weighing down on me. This must be a barrier.
Moreover, an extremely malicious one.
I turned around to see everyone but,
「What's the matter, Gil?」
Chato asked while furrowing his eyebrows. And yet――
「This is, dangerous!」
Rami's face turned 180 from her previous carefree face to pale face, she finally took this matter seriously.
「If I'm not mistaken, we're already inside the barrier erected by the demon king army!」
「No! This isn't the like of demon king army!」

Rami objected with a loud voice.
『Oh my~, too ba~d. You're already inside my belly~.』
Standing before Rami was a woman with a red sea bream head clad in military uniform, looking at us while stretching her
body to impossible angles.
That was the thing who appeared near the end of my nightmare――
「UROKONU!」
It was the worst encounter. I thought that I would be keeling over from fear. And yet, for some reason, I felt an extreme
resentment from my tone.
『Oh my~, this adorable monkey-san actually knows about moi~.』
Urokonu struck a weird pose as her fish eyes looked around, observing us.
Chato and Tama aside, that simple gesture alone was enough to make even that stout hearted Bhu tremble from head to
toes, unable to do as much as lift his finger.
「Urokonu!? The lieutenant colonel directly under Forneus from the evil army! Impossible! This is impossible!
We have to escape from this pla――」
『You over the~re, shut up for a little bit will ya~』
Rami, who spoke with bloodshot eyes, was slapped by Urokonu who suddenly appeared right in front of her.
That slap sent Rami's body flying at terrifying speeds, knocking down numerous trees along the way, and kept going on until
the crashing sound vanished deep inside the forest.
『Oh my~, I forgot how brittle bug like you people, to be done in even when I'm going easy on yo~u.』
Urokonu then transformed her right hand into purple coloured liquid and used that to grab Rami by her neck. Rami's left
cheek swelled up like a watermelon, she had already passed out from that slap, and her entire body was spasming nonstop.
That slap had almost killed her.
I mustn't let this bitch to do as she pleases! If I didn't go all out to escape from this place, she's gonna kill all of us.
I quickly imitated the strongest existence, unsheathed Flame from its scabbard, and swung it down onto Urokonu's head.
Though Flame was burning at its' limit, it was broken and could only leave a faint black scald on one of Urokonu's scales.
That surprise was enough for Urokonu to let go of Rami, patting her scaled with both of her hands. And then, she glared
furiously at me.
『YOU LOWLY WORM!』
Facing her rage, my field of vision suddenly dyed red. When I noticed, my body had already been lying on the ground, then
pain akin to my body being shredded to pieces came a moment later.
When I tried to raise my face, I saw that everyone had already been turned into minced meat.
「L_Lies…」

All of us got annihilated with a simple howl. Like hell we could fight against this kind of opponent!
『Too ba~d. You won't have easy deaths like those other wo~rms.』
Those remarks marked the beginning of seemingly never ending hell for me
