"NOOOO!"

I screamed in shock and fear, trying to reach the red wolf to at least reduce the damage to be dealt. But suddenly, I was tackled to the ground by the last beast I'd ever think was still alive.

The purple wolf, completely healed of its injuries, smirked at me as it watched the beam move forward.

"Mayhem Descend!" I heard Emily scream, showing that she had more experience in such problems.

A red beam descened from the sky and immediately collided with the powerful blast created by the wolf. There was a large, ear-piercing sound when they joined together but unfortunately, their was an obvious winner.

Though it was decreased, the wolf's blast still managed to catch my entire party head on, but not enough to annhilate them to ash. They were all blasted to the ground, but hopefully, with minor injuries.

[Hey Bradley! How can the wolves still be moving after being cut down to pieces?!]

***

I asked the system as I observed the other wolves slowly rise from the ground, steadily healing from their injuries and regenerating their lost limbs.

***

<I just found out. It's not their fur that's coated with hard brittle diamond; bones. The red wolf is a smart one. second you blasted it your power, placed one foot on the ground so as to conduct electricity away. Though was rendered immobile for while due amount of current dispatched. Now it's at its weakest after emitting that powerful beam. Best course action, kill now, still vulnerable.>

[We're seriously not dealing with some normal wolves here. They are wayyyy out of our league!]

<Oh? Then surpass you limits my boy>

[Easier said than done. Any ideas on how to kill them?]

<Crush their skulls>

[Any other easier methods?]

<I dunno, die trying?>

[You really are useless, you know that?]

<I... actually, I can't defend myself. Good luck>

I tried punching the purple wolf off myself, but it easily dodged and retreated back to the red wolf, guarding it.

I got up, and from where I was standing, Bareth, followed by Kira and Blade were slowly but surely getting up too. Emily struggled to rise for a bit, but immediately fell down with blood sipping from her armor since she took most of the blast head on.

"You all good?" I asked once I regrouped with them. Looks like the beasts were still handling their own problems to be bothered with us. But it was only a matter of time.

"Peachy. Though Emily does needs a bit of rest. Other than a few burns here and there, we're good, " Kira answered.

"Alright then. You guys ready for round two? If you want to kill them completely, crush their skulls. The red wolf is at its weakest right now, so I'll have to deal the finishing blow now. You guys ok handling the rest yourselves?"

"Just take revenge for us. I don't like the look it's giving me. Leave the small fries to us," Blade answered, taking out his guns once more as he had sheathed them earlier.

[Hey Bradley? You ready to put the plan to motion?]

<Sure. Just do as planned>

The purple wolf made it its purpose to protect the red wolf, so I had to get through it if I wanted to end the red wolf's life.

It began growling at me the second I approached it and when nearer, it slowly walked towards me, waiting for a chance to pounce. I summoned a sword from my inventory given to me by the school, and ran on ahead to issue out the first attack.

I charged in, sword filled with electricity, and slashed, but the purple wolf dodged and after finding an opening, bit hard into my left leg.

"OWWW! GODS, WHY??!"

I gritted in pain and slashed at it again, this time one that it couldn't escape from, and managed to graze its snout, forcing it to let go of me.

It howled in pain and retreated back, but only for a short distance. Suddenly, it began running around me at an amazing speed with each round its speed increasing drastically, thinking it can catch me off guard.

"Two can play it that game," I muttered as I activated flashpoint.

When it thought it had its chance, it jumped, aiming for my neck this time. At the last second, I jumped out of the way, smiling as it looked at me bewildered before I thrashed the sword deep into its gut. It howled again in pain, but that only fueled its pursuit as it managed to paw my face sending me crashing to the ground.

"You're good," I said to it as I wiped the trail of blood from my mouth, rising.

"Shut up Furrha! Though I'll have to admit not many can easily wound me," It spoke in my head.

"Then would you consider joining my squad? Name your price,"

"Real funny Furrha. The invader of our home asking for me to join his group. Laughable. Even if I wanted to, I just can't forsake my brother,"

"Then how about this, all your pack join me, and I'll provide you guys with protection from hunters who want your bones!" I said as I launched a surprise attack to its head, forcing it to go down in pain. Guess I'll have to soften it up a bit.

But before I could even try my idea, I sensed danger and immediately dodged the red wolf's desperate attack to save its brother. I distanced my self from the two brothers who seemed to be ganging up on me. Guess I was too late cause the red wolf could actually move now.

"That's hardly fair now, is it? Two powerful beasts against one lowly monster. I can't say I like my odds very much,"

"How can you keep up with us even though we're much powerful than you?!" the red wolf asked in clear annoyance.

"Join me, and I'll tell you the secret," I answered while smiling.

"Fine then. I guess you really don't care about your friends then," it said and nodded its head behind me.

"What do you mea–Oh for the love of GODS!"

I turned my head and saw the blue wolves were now just toying with the guys, who had many bruises and scratches on their faces.

The wolves seemed to have created a game where they headbutted everyone, one at a time, to see who would manage to collapse their prey.

"Ok, how about we come to a compromise," I asked the red wolf who was now smiling all the way thinking it had already won.

"What do you have to offer, ey? From where I'm standing, you're in no position to make demands,"

"You sure about that?" I asked, pointing to the the purple wolf, who collapsed on the ground with black blood leaking from its mouth and its purple hair turning a shade darker.

"Call off your friends, maybe I save him," I told the red wolf who had a worried expression on its face as it rushed over to its brother, wondering why his wounds weren't healing normally. I was hoping this would work cause right now, everyone was knocked out, but thankfully not dead.

"Why are you doing this to us?! We've never hurt anyone unless provoked by the dumb monsters who challenged us for our bones. We just want to live a normal life hunting other beasts and becoming stronger, is that too much to ask?!" The red wolf howled and I could feel the hurt in its voice.

"Take your friends and go. Just please, don't take him away from me," it pleaded with me, and I could see that it really was worried about its bother to even allow us leave while it was the one with the upper hand.

Looking back on it, we really were the invaders here. They were just trying to live their lives normality, only to have monsters come up to them with the goal of killing them just for their essence that we probably don't know what it will be used for.

<Bully >

[Wha–Ok. I may have taken this a bit too far but I can fix this, right? Besides, I have a better idea>

***

"How about you join a squad I'm creating too? I promise, where I'm taking you, no one will ever know of your whereabouts and you'll have the chance to get stronger and live you life how you want. You said you wanted to know how I got stronger, how about I make your pack the strongest, all with the idea you'll become my subordinates?" I pitched my idea.

"How sure I'm I we're not walking into a trap? Perhaps a ploy to get our bones just like the rest of them!" the untrustworthy wolf asked in anger.

"I'll forge a blood pact with you," I confidently said to it. It stared at me surprised.

"Taking on a blood pact even if you know the consequences, that takes guts. You sure you know what you're getting yourself into?"

"Pretty sure . A good choice for me seeing I'll have indestructible wolves at my disposal,"

"Fair enough. I'll do what you ask but first, please heal my brother,"

"I'll heal him once we do the ritual. Good enough for you?"

"Untrustworthy too I see. Ok then, let's begi–" it didn't finish that sentence as its head was suddenly cleanly chopped off.

With minimum sounds, masked individuals appeared out of no where and made quick work of the blue wolves, taking them out quickly and carrying them just as fast together with Emily and Kira. I could only do so much as blink in shock as my body was immobilized by some unknown force.

Once everything was done, they vanished into the trees just as first as they appeared, and then I could finally move. I fell down, frozen in shock as the purple wolf struggled to reach its brothers head, which was also staring at me in utter shock. They both howled in anger for their taken comrades, as my mind slowly came to, to what just happened.

"WHAT THE WHAAAAAT!" I shouted angrily to the sky.
