A MILLENIAL BEAST'S STRENGTH (Part 1)

##Hello all my good readers? Those who have made it this far to my book, thanks for that. But unfortunately, I've realized that this book doesn't meet the standards of the rest from around here. So, I've decided to stop the monster system from here on out, cause there's no point in continuing a book when not a lot of people appriciate it, if even there's someone out there who appriciates my book. This will be the last chapter and who knows, maybe if it hits when I go away is when I'll decide to continue with it. Maybe. Anyways, it's been fun, and again, thanks to those who made it this far, and those who have stuck with the book. And for those who I've disappointed...sorry. Goodbye....for know. (fyi, it's not that I luck content but it's just that I've reached a point and realized that except for the views, nothing else comes from my readers, meaning that maybe I'm not really cut out for this. Bye for real this time)####

Life ain't all that it's cracked up to be once you sit down and think about it. Especially when you are forced to face something that is definitely leagues above you.

<Interesting? More like an absolute beat down! I'll light a candle for you.>

[If I'm dead, you're dead useless system!]

<No... It doesn't work that way. I'll just be moved to another being. Maybe a much better one you>

[Oh? I'm sure my new friend Fex will love to hear your side of the story on how I was killed off so easily with you around. He'd love that, right?]

<Fine. I'll help out as much I can, manipulative bastard>

[What was that about bastard?]

<Boss! I meant Boss.>

"Alright guys. We've all heard of the plan, all that's left is whether it will work," I began with the group, the sound spell I had just cast in effect since I didn't want to risk the possibility of the Red riot discovering us this early in the fight.

Earlier in the morning after a quick breakfast, we packed up our camp and handed everything over to Mrs Kelly as instructed, all except our weapons.

From there, us four had to move out earlier in search for the Millennial beast, but thankfully, over the week, we've been tracking it's progress around the forest, so it would be easier to find it when the time arises like right now.

We four were placed a top a large tree, they were all large just for your information but this one in particular was really large and tall, away from the Red riot's beast senses to detect us.

Mrs Kelly said she would be watching us, far from the entire fight with the kids sure, but not far enough that when we need it, she would come and help us. I hope it didn't have to come to that cause that would have counted as a fail for us. And something tells me this is the only chance we got to do this.

The entire plan was hinged on catching the beast in surprise. Mrs Kelly said we could use any means necessary to finish it off, provided it was all by our own, so we chose a much safer approach.

If one thing we've leant over there two weeks we've been around this forest, is that if you don't know how your opponent fights, best chance to defeat it is to catch it by surprise and finish it immediately before it can even put up a defense.

This plan worked out well against other beasts. But just in case, we also trained ourselves fighting with powerful beasts at their prime, especially bears, so that we could prepare ourselves in advance for anything.

Of course we did our homework on the beast itself, observing its fights over the nights, looking at how well it observed its surroudings and all that. Unfortunately for us, after observing a few of its fights, we realized that the way we were now currently, we were no match for it. Not even close, despite the fact we surpassed it in terms of numbers.

The beast enjoyed killing it's prey, the stronger it was, the more faster it was killed. It's almost like it was looking for a challenge, and was still to meet one.

If I remember correctly during the inter-class competitions, the great lizard was a powerful beast all on its own, what it lacked was the battle sense that's gained only by repeatedly fighting stronger opponents, and that's why I easily beat it.

But this beast, gods! This beast had the battle sense alright. In fact, one day while watching it fight a peak centurion beast, a beast that took the four of us half a day to beat, with one slash, It was done. Alvin almost got into the scrossfire of its slash and was lucky enough his wind ability saved him just in time.

"It's coming closer. Everyone ready?" I asked the crew.

"Yup!"

"Good."

I slid down the tree immediately, careful to keep the noise to a minimum using wind magic, and landed on the ground softly. The beast was just as imposing now as it was the first time I had seen it up close. A few metres away from here, but even if it did discover me, I'm sure it would have cared less since I was not worthy of its time.

I placed one of my hands on the ground, feeling the earth while I waited for it to get into position before I launched the trap. But when I felt for its footsteps, I was surprised to hear them moving a lot faster than I anticipated, and coming really close too.

"Wait, why has it increased its speed all of a sudden. Surely it doesn't consider me a threat to it, right?" I wondered as the vibrations got closer.

Well, no matter. As long as it was distracted enough not to notice the trap, it wasn't really a problem. In fact, it was saving me the time to even have to lure it here by some plan I had yet to come up with.

"3...2...1...NOW!" I shouted and activated the Warlock ability, earth.

From this distance, I could see the beast bulldozing through the forest as it made its way towards me, it's face filled with excitement as it approached me.

When it made its way near the area around the trap, the earth immediately collapsed and the bear lost its footing.

"HEY ALVIN AND EARL! YOU'RE UP!" I yelled at the two elves. I could see the bear had already realized that it was led into the trap and was in the midst of using its back legs to stop itself from falling into it, but two large red tentacles and a powerful gust of wind lifted it right into the middle of the hole.

I'm sure that was all thanks to it running toward me, cause it would have been even more difficult to push it to the hole if it were only walking.

"QUEEN!"

"YEAH, I KNOW!"

A large ice pillar manifested right above the bear, something that could only be formed by a powerful weapon such as the adamantium sceptre. The ice pillar began descending with all its force, but I realized in shock that the red bear had twisted itself to face the pillar head on, and was getting ready to use its powerful slash skill.

"OH NO YOU DON'T!"

Six tunnels of water launched themselves from my palm and made their way towards the bear with amazing force and control from me, a little trick I taught myself for situations such as this, the idea coming from Earl's ability.

Before the bear could make a movement, two of the water lines grabbed hold of both of its hands, another two took both legs, one was around the waste and finally the last one was around the neck.

My hands were immediately pulled due to the amount of strength coming from the bear, and I could feel the strain it was putting on my entire body, but this plan had to work so I gathered everything I had in me and held with all my strength.

Why I was putting my life at risk in all this was because there was a multitude of sharp spikes embedded within the hole, their strength above the level of the red bear since it was made by the power of the sphere. All that was needed was one very painful fall for this beast, and out lives would have been much easier.

"Can't....this....thing....desend....any... .FASTER!" I roared as the bear started a real powerful tag of war with me. I heard someone scream from the background and saw two golden tentacles rising in the air, and they immediately fell on the pillar, helping others descend faster.

All this happened in a matter of minutes, bit it sure felt like hours to everyone putting their all in this one attack. The ice pillar finally connected with the bear after gaining enough distance from the height it was created from, finally releasing me from my pain.

"ROOOOOOOARRR,"

The bear roared in outrage as it descended, and we had a satisfying crunch before it roared even louder, hopefully the spikes down their doing their work as they should.

Everyone paused for a while as we heard the bear repeatedly roar in pain until the roars gradually faded away. All that time we had regrouped, my hands and legs feeling like jello, everyone else sweating like we had just done a marathon but in reality it was just fighting. No, scratch that. Just killing one little bear.

"Is it dead?" Earl asked after a while.

"I don't think so. If it was, I think Mrs Kelly should have come to congratulate us–"

"ROOOOOOOAAARRRR!"

An angry roared resonated with the entire forest. The large pillar we had used to push it downwards was immediately slashed into pieces before our very eyes before the bear, even with its mass, jumped out of the hole, dashing the little hope we had that we had at least done something to it.

When it landed in front of us, it's eyes were bloodshot red and it's teeth and claws even large than my hand. It was foaming from it mouth in a combination of blood and foam, making it look even more menacing that it previously was.

<*The Red riot bear has entered its berserk state.*>

<*In this state, it has become more faster and powerful than before, but is easily prone to damage. One slash from it, the user can die immediately!*>

***

The bear stared at us and a feeling of absolute fear passed between all of our spines. The abnormal amount of blood lust oozing from the beast was so powerful, that I heard all the beasts and birds near by flee out of fear.

" F*ck!" Alvin cursed for the first time since I've met him.

I noticed something from the bear that have me some hope that at least that we had a chance to survive this.

"Hey guys, look," I said as I indicated them to the look at the bear closely.

One of its back legs was missing, and the other was impaled by a spike that was slowly melting. I saw a few more spikes surrounding it's body, but what made all this stand out was the pool of blood dripping from its many wounds.

If this bear wasn't as powerful as it was, I'm sure it would have died a while ago. That said, it was still strong enough to handle us four, especially in berserk mode, and something told me that this is it's last wish on the this beastverse, to die doing what it loves, fighting.

"Guys, still got some juice in you?" I asked the hand as I took out my adamantium spear.

"Have to finish what we started, I guess," Alvin said as he positioned his bow and knoted an arrow. Earl took out twin daggers and Queen raised her sceptre in in answer.

"This is a battle for our pride as the elite. Red riot, we will be your final opponents in this life time, "

The bear said nothing but just started slowly making its way towards us. Then, in one second, it was in front of us, and in the next, I was suddenly off my feet, before a tree painfully cushioned my body from the back.

*bleh*

I coughed up a huge amount of blood and stared in horror at a piece of bark firmly implanted in my side, hopefully not in an essential internal organ.

I didn't see the attack even coming.

"*Cough, cough* Guys, don't let it head butt you–"

*Splat*

Someone else joined me in the next tree. Hopefully not in the same circumstances as me. The dust cleared and I realized it was Queen, coughing up blood too, looking nearly passed out.

"Oh...we're..in...deep...trouble,"
