Chapter 16: Lethal Sword (2)
Day 571 of Hell's Training from Maxwell.
Raytoria prepared all his weapons and his weighted clothing, which served as his current armor. After a few moments, he entered the same underground room where he previously trained and killed demonic beasts. Within it was the large cage that has its sides occupying 80-85% of the room.
In tow was his senior brother and adoptive father, Harden and Maxwell.
"Ready?" Maxwell asked.
"Yes father." Raytoria replied, Maxwell turned his head to Harden and nodded. Harden responded back with a nod as well and pulled the lever. A hole opened up from the floor within the cage, a demonic beast jumped out then the hole closed up.
It was an orangutan demonic beast and it has a height of at least 7 feet and has a width of at least 5 feet. Large hands and feet, eyes so red and its hair were in white. It could definitely be mistaken as a troll if not carefully looking..
It was the first time Raytoria felt something dangerous and as he witnessed the demonic beast in the cage, he looked at Harden blankly.
"Heh... your previous opponents were not enough so I pulled a better one for you, scared?" Maxwell teased.
Harden smirked as well as a reaction.
Raytoria, in return, smiled and just walked inside the cage without reply.

"Hahhhh!" Raytoria uttered a rushed sound as he tried to strike a sword slash towards the demonic beast's thigh. It failed as the orangutan demonic beast retreated.
As a counter to that defensive retreat of the demonic beast, he immediately took a solid stand and strike a follow up slash. This time, the attack went for the demonic beast's chest.
Within moments, it landed and wounded the demonic beast. Blood were flowing down from its chest as the wound were quite big. The demonic beast, with desperation from its eyes, went for a kamikaze attack and just jumped forward, its palm were open wide intending to grab Raytoria.
Raytoria noticed it immediately and used this opportunity to use his agility to finish the fight. He quickly bent his knees and his lower body to gather all the force in order to jump up.
A few seconds passed and the demonic beast was only a few centimeters from Raytoria, once it reached 1 centimeter, he flashed and disappeared from his position. The demonic beast was shocked as he expected to be able to grab the human, instead, he disappeared.
As soon as he noticed the presence of Raytoria behind, he turned around and looked at the human's back was facing him. Raytoria, at that moment, was already finished attacking, he did not move from his last move. His eyes full of rage, his body was stationary. He never looked back.
This made the demonic beast think that he got a chance to attack back and as he made a step, he felt something in between his forehead. He screamed and few seconds passed, his whole body were split in half. Blood sprinkled the whole cage.
The fight has finished. Raytoria won and while it took him 3 hours to kill the demonic beast, it made Raytoria realized that his strength was not enough as he knew that this demonic beast was only one of the many and there could be thousands or millions more powerful than it.

Bloody all over, he walked out of the cage and looked at his father and senior brother, then said, "I'm still weak father, senior brother." With a disappointed look.
However, Maxwell replied with a smile, "No, Raytoria, you must remember, you're still a 7-8 years old kid, you having been able to kill such a monster was unheard of, so don't belittle yourself, keep training and you'll definitely be the strongest of all the fighters in this kingdom, maybe, even the whole world."
"Junior brother, you starting point has already surpassed mine so belittling yourself is like mocking me you know~" Harden said in a teasing manner.
"Well... thanks for the encouragement father rand senior brother, I'll work hard" Raytoria replied while scratching his head. Quite a shy response.
"Heh.. so, you can be a shy boy at times huh?" Harden said as he looked at his junior's reaction to their compliments.
The day ended with another high-level demonic beast fight for Raytoria. He won.

The same routine followed for next few days as Raytoria used sword techniques only to familiarize himself of the Lethal Blade Arts. As suggested by Maxwell, Raytoria must focus on one weapon first and master it quite a bit before moving to using spears and shields. However, Raytoria disputed his master and asked to do this for a few days and them mix the battles with his shield, doing both sword and shield practice with demonic beasts.
Maxwell was against with Raytoria's thought process and just shook his head instead. The boy was too stubborn so he just let it go and advised Raytoria that his sword efficiency will dwindle quite a bit with the shield in tow and the offensive prowess of the Lethal Blade Arts will be wasted.
Raytoria didn't listen and just donned the sword and shield then walked inside the cage to a large centipede demonic beast.

60 days passed.
Raytoria has now killed large amounts of high-level demonic beasts and could fight a maximum of 4 demonic beasts per day. His sword and shield techniques was also polished and the Lethal Blade Arts has evolved from a pure offensive technique to an offense-defense technique.
He would incorporate his shield to form a defensive stance as a trap, and when beasts attacked, he would observe and just lower his shield to use it as a stunning weapon. Hitting the demonic beasts in their middle part, with a stun effect, His sword will slip in and target the demonic beasts' vital parts such as necks and some small gapped parts of their bodies.
The lethal blade has become more lethal as the stun effect and defense of the shield added more chances for the technique to attack precisely.
Raytoria also remembered how spartan fights with their shields and as a basis from that technique, he used his shield as a weapon instead of a pure defensive tool. His shield was used to bash the parts of demonic beasts and then use the sword as a counter attack.

"What a wonderful combination, don't you think so, Harden?" Maxwell asked while intently looking at his adoptive child fighting a Demonic Sparrow beast.
"Yes master, I was also surprised when junior brought the shield and told you that he'll be using it along with his sword. I was also quite disappointed at that point as he would never bring out the pure power of the Lethal Blade Arts. Now, I felt embarrassed having that thought, I never knew shields would be this dangerous along with the Lethal Blade Arts." Harden answered while amazed by the techniques Raytoria showed him.
"Heh... a unique genius. You and him are quite alike, but his has a different path. While you're a sword master of the blade arts, he would be a tri-weapon master, but doing so would take him longer time to reach the pinnacle of each weapons he uses, while you'll be reaching the godhood of sword mastery. I could see it already. Now I wonder, how would he combine his spear and shield later?" Maxwell added.
"Spear and shield huh?" Harden whispered.

As for Raytoria, the 60th day of his sword and shield training has finished. On his bed, he opened his status windows checking his progress.
