Chapter 14: Weapon

"Hayahhh!!" Raytoria roared. His punch punctured the head of the monkey-looking demonic beast. It has the same look as monkeys but has large fangs hanging out of its mouth and has red eyes.

[KILLED A DEMONIC MONKEY BEAST. GAINED 100 EXPERIENCE. 5 GOLD COINS AND 1 DEMONIC CRYSTAL]

"That's the last one!" Raytoria uttered as it has been 30 days already since he started training with demonic beasts to finesse his Turtle Strike Martial Arts. During these 30 days, Raytoria has found that he has greater strength than these demonic beasts that Maxwell puts with him in the cage.

Maxwell, on the other hand, noticed it even before the training started so in the first few days, he went to let Raytoria feel his strength and then when Raytoria has been able to kill the demonic beasts he put inside the cage in just less than 1 hour and with less effort, he decided to put multiple demonic beasts at once every day to fight Raytoria.

This made Raytoria happy but nervous as well as he never had multiple opponents before and lack experience.

But as days goes on, his fighting instincts improved and his martial arts went leaps and bounds in terms of efficiency.

As the 30th day of training finished, Raytoria's stats has gotten monstrous.

(Day 360/-)

------------------------------

The night came and next day's would be the same. Raytoria just finished the day by defeating 15 demonic beasts and was just exhausted. As his normal routine, before sleeping, he opened his character status, skills, quest windows and checked their progress.

He opened them and saw that he has 50 free attribute points that needed to be allocated, he just shook his head as he was too busy with his training that he neglected putting them in his stats. As he looked at the current stats he got, he immediately thought that putting them in Strength and Agility will be a waste so he decided to choose between vitality, stamina and dexterity. Normally, it would be dexterity but outside skill sets and physical gifts can make up for the lack of some stats. He looked back and just realized that his dexterity with his hands has improved since he trained with his senior brother, father and the demonic beasts. His hand speed as well as nimbleness were there already so putting some points in the dexterity stat would be quite a waste at the moment so he removed the dexterity in his choices.

He only got stamina and vitality. With his battle experience in the last 90 days, he immediately thought that putting some in his stamina would be a great choice but with the experience with the demonic beasts, he knew that if he encountered some high-level demonic beasts, his vitality would play the bigger part. The power to survive with a much larger life against a monster would play vital part in battles, of course, stamina will maintain the battle.

"That's it!" Raytoria said. His fingers tapped the (>) part of the virtual screen and added 30 points to his vitality and 20 points in stamina stats.

Once done, he felt the life energy seeping into his body. It just meant that his life energy has increased. For 7 years old, it was much. His life expectancy should be much higher than when he was only a normal mortal.

------------------

Raytoria woke up on a new day and ate his breakfast then went to the training room, where his father asked him the day before.

He sat on the floor while his father facing him. "So... your improvement with the Turtle Strike Martial Arts has been exemplary. I and your senior brother are satisfied with your improvement and I will now move the next stage of this training, are you prepared?" Maxwell said.

"Yes, father!" Raytoria answered with determination in his eyes. Maxwell, hearing the word "father", smirked. He was already used to it and was quite happy to always hear it.

"Good! Now, follow me." Maxwell stood up and both him and Raytoria walked out of the training room and arrived at a different room. After entering, Raytoria was surprised with the weapons hanging on the walls as well as the other weapons on each corners of the room.

"So.. the next stage will be for you to learn weaponry arts, pick any weapons in this room you prefer and I'll teach you the corresponding techniques." Maxwell said coldly.

Raytoria nodded and walked around the room. It took him quite a few minutes and once he saw a short sword, he came closer to it to observe better.

The sword was quite a short one and he thought of its compactness. It reminded him of that spartan movie. As a knight-based build, he needed a sword. He also needed a shield. A spear would be optional.

A minute passed after looking intently with the short sword, he grabbed its hilt and took it from the wall where it was hanging.

Maxwell smiled as he saw Raytoria pulled a short sword but didn't say anything and just kept on observing as he noticed that the kid was not done yet.

Raytoria, on the other side, kept moving toward a corner. He saw a circular shield. The size was massive, as high as his height, 4 feet. Without hesitating, he also grabbed the shield.

"Oho!" Maxwell uttered. He was surprised as the kid picked a shield. Never in his wildest imagination that a person would be using shields these days. That was quite the shocker for him but he immediately remained quiet.

Not done, with the shield and sword in tow, he walked toward another side and saw a spear with a height of 6 feet. It looks seemed good so he also grabbed the spear then walked back to his father.

"Done yet?" Maxwell said with an amusement in his tone.

"Yes father." Raytoria nodded.

"Quite a large choice you got there kid, you sure you can use them all?" Maxwell asked with a mix of curiosity and belittlement.

"Definitely father." Raytoria answered back. His eyes emitted confidence, Maxwell shook his head. He thought that the kid would regret his choices later, but let Raytoria with his choices for the moment as he will use the latter's result to teach the kid a lesson.

But that would end up in disappointment because Raytoria will master these weapons quickly.
