There were at least 7 bodies lying in different surgical beds in the lab in which Charles was experimenting. With just a glance, one can see one body with a metallic hand and on closer inspection of his severely cut-opened body, anyone can recognize him as Bucky Barnes, and just to his adjacent bed, one could also identify Steve Rogers's body.

Just like this, Almost every Winter Soldier, who was in the Deep sleep in HYDRA's Syberian facility had died at the hands of Charles because he wanted what was inside of them, the Super Soldier Serum. Nick Fury had tasked Phil Coulson with investigating the bomb blast near Hudson, New York when suddenly, he got a call.

"Sir, an interstellar Hammer has just landed in New Mexico!"

"What!?"

"Yes Sir. At first, we thought that it was a satellite, but on closer inspection, it is a hammer that no one can lift."

Nick Fury was bewildered. He immediately assigned Phil Coulson to take over the situation of the Hammer.

"Phil, once you reach there, seal off the area, and get the Astrophysicists from the Research department of our Mexico branch there. See what is this about."

In the original universe, Tony wasn't very interested in the Thor fiasco, because he already had his own share of problems.

He was trying to research and improve his Arc Reactor and his Armor every day while also trying to manage his relationship with Pepper.

They both have confessed to each other, under the subtle manipulations and hints of Charles, but due to Tony and Pepper's extremely busy lifestyle, it was hard for them to manage it.

But now, Tony had also become a little interested in this Hammer that had crashed and he donned on his Mark VI armour and flew away towards New Mexico.

It was late at night now, and it had been almost 2 hours since Tony left his home.

Pepper had just arrived at the Villa to find Charles's car already parked outside the gates.

Arriving inside the home, she quickly found Charles, sitting on a sofa in a 3-Piece Black suit, waiting for someone.

"Charles, I didn't know you were coming." Pepper came to greet him as he got up and gave her cheek-kiss.

"Yeah, As soon as I came, JARVIS told me that Tony had actually gone to investigate a meteorite in Mexico." Replied Charles as he went back to the sofa.

"Oh! I am so sorry. Tony is spontaneous like that. Even I got to know about this 10 minutes back only." Pepper apologised and started a small chat with Charles.

"So, When are you guys getting married."

Pepper froze at this question. It was an uncomfortable question because even she didn't know that. She knew that neither Tony, and nor she were sure about marriage so soon.

Sure they knew each other for years, but they only started dating some months back.

Even now, there were many communication gaps between them due to their work style so she couldn't come up with an answer.

"I am sorry If my question has offended you" Charles apologised but there was a small smile that crept upon his lips.

He had been trying to seduce Pepper for a year now, but very subtly. He couldn't go overboard because that would make Pepper and Tony both severing their friendship with him. But now,

"We still don't know what it is and why it fell here. NASA's record suggests that no satellite or Meteorite has entered the Lower-Earth orbit in the last 24 hours." Said Nick Fury to Stark who was scanning Mjolnir with his Repulsor on his Armor.

"What do you think?" Fury asked as he beckoned Tony to speak.

Tony and Fury had already become friends, so to speak. Tony had agreed to help out in a situation where his Powers are needed and in return, Fury had made sure that the Congress doesn't bother Tony about his Armor any more.

It was Tony's guilty conscience of indirectly killing people with his weapons that made him to agree this proposal. It was an initiative, Avengers Initiative. He thought that he could redeem himself with this. It was Fury's dream.

Fury also shared the details of Bruce Banner, who they think would be an excellent addition to their team and some other names were discussed as well.

Charles looked at the computer screen in front of him and the more he looked, the more his smile widened.

"So that's how you did it."

Charles was a genius and he had been working on an Artificial Intelligence just like JARVIS and FRIDAY, but he was stuck on a self-learning algorithm.

In the past year, he had made an AI more powerful than FRIDAY, but there was always something missing.

He couldn't deploy it in Appledore because it would take time for the AI to even register his orders but now, he had his answers.

This was the actual reason for seducing Pepper, he wanted to see the Source code of JARVIS.

Charles went out of Tony's Villa, got in his car and drove away, after which he came back to Tony's lab and started to edit the surveillance video.

He already knew Deep Learning and Motion Interpolation, so doing something as simple as modifying the timestamps on the video, showing him going out of Tony's villa just after Pepper arrived was easy.

He removed any irregularities from the video and modified the Metadata to reflect an un-tampered video.

Charles proceeded to remove any signs of his presence, such as fingerprints and Lab's own surveillance video and soon, he was again in Tony's bedroom, snuggling Pepper.

Pepper, suddenly felt Charles grab her stomach and kiss her ears and she woke up with a startle.

"Pepper are you alright!" Asked Charles with concern.

"Charles….This..What had happened between us...It...It was a mistake" Pepper broke into tears as she said that.

Charles immediately put his hands behind her back and started to draw soothing circles on her back and shoulder.

"Don't worry Pepper. If you don't want this, then don't worry. I actually thought that you would say something like this and that's why I have already tried to erase any trace of what we did."

As Pepper heard Charles speak, she realised that she was in her nightdress and not nude.

She looked around and noticed that the room was clean, her dress was nowhere to be seen and Charles was in his shirt and pants as well.

"I am sorry Charles…." She was feeling guilty. Extremely guilty but Charles started to calm her.

He made sure that he has fixed everything and no one will ever know about this.

"I know I can't have you, but I am happy just to be with you tonight."

Charles left Pepper with more questions than answers. Pepper was sure that she Loved Tony, and now she would go above and beyond to keep him happy, but this small seed that Charles had left in her heart was making her question herself.

Around 4 in the morning, Charles left carefully and got inside of his car and drove away.

He wasn't going to his home, the Appledore. No.

After driving for half an hour, he arrived in front of a house and knocked.

Charles wasn't in his suit right now because he knew that Pepper's perfume would be all over it.

He always kept a spare suit in his car, and right now, he was wearing a white shirt and black pants, while the coat was hanging on his forearm.

After knocking for a couple of minutes, someone finally opened the door, and It was May Parker.

He kept typing and simulating his AI till noon when finally he finished the code and pressed to debug.

"Welcome Master Magnussen." Came a female voice from all around the lab.

The smile on Charles's face couldn't get any wider.

"Your name shall be VERONICA!" Charles gave his first order.

This AI was more powerful than even FRIDAY that Tony will make in future, and by that time, Veronica would've reached the level of Ultron...or even above him.

"Veronica, First of all, Assist me with the Super Soldier Program, the files are already on the server.

Secondly, while I am going through the transformation, upload yourself on the Internet, and try to learn everything from there. I want you on every mobile, computer, laptop, notepad, tv, etc. If there is anything in this world that you can get into, do that."

"I will get right on it, Master" came Veronica's almost human voice.

Charles wasn't worried about Veronica betraying him. The reason being that at the core of her programming, the most important command, was that Charles's orders were absolute. Nothing was beyond them.

And even in an unlikely scenario that Veronica does show signs of betrayal, Charles would immediately know about it and he had a fail-safe ready.

Veronica immediately took over every control of Appledore and soon, through her calculations and Charles's instruction, a very futuristic machine, labelled [Vita Rays (Radioactive)] came to the lab.

Just like how Banner needed Gamma Rays to turn into Hulk, Steve Rogers need Vita Rays and after double-checking everything, Charles entered a radiation chamber and strapped himself on a surgical bed which was present there.
