[Chapter:11][The basics of magic(1)]

"Good morning, everyone."

"Good morning."

"~yawn~ Good morning…."

The five girls greeted each other as they walked downstairs, where the early risers were already up and awake.

"Irene-san, Mikoto-chan, and even Kaguya-san woke up so quickly."

"What do you mean 'even Kaguya-san'?"

Kaguya-chan glared at Kuroneko, who stuck her tongue out cutely.

"As a fellow NEET, I expected Kaguya-san to sleep till noon."

"I did too, actually.", Mikoto-chan nodded, receiving a glare from Kaguya-chan, while Irene-chan smiled.

"I have a habit of waking up early. But Kaguya-san was here way before me."

Just as they began speaking to each other, Akeno-chan walked out of the kitchen with trailer.

"Breakfast is ready, everyone."

"Thank you Akeno-san." Akeno-chan smiled at Mikoto-chan.

"No need to thank me. Please, enjoy."

I don't know what happened to the girls after they went upstairs, but other than Koneko-chan, who seemed to have fun poking my cheek trying to wake me up, something which obviously doesn't work, the rest of the girls including Akeno-chan seemed to have gotten a lot closer.

"Koneko-chan, come here. Taste this cookie, I helped Akeno-san bake it."

Or maybe Koneko-chan got closer to them too? Hard to tell since she almost never expresses herself though.

"Admin-san, wake up. You can't skip breakfast, it's bad for health you know?" (Mikoto)

My eyes flutter open as I raise my body, and just in time as my stomach rumbled softly.

"Hee~ Admin-san needs to eat too huh? And here I though Admin-san can live on sleeping alone." (Akeno)

I ignored Akeno-chan's teasing words, though I did note that she called me 'Admin-San' rather than by the name I was introduced with. Did the girls let her in on the Group? Unlikely.

Guess she decided to follow what the others called me.

"Good morning Admin-san."

"Good morning everyone.", I greeted them back in my usual lazy and sleepy tone as I took my seat.

Wait, why am I seated at the top of the table? Is this some way of saying I'm supposed to bear the responsibilities of the leader?

No way right? That's way too much work…

"You just thought of something stupid, didn't you?" (Kaguya)

Eh? How did you know, Kaguya-chan? Is this the famous women's intuition? Or is it wisdom that comes with age?

"Now you just thought of something rude."

"No no I just thought you are quite wise, Kaguya-chan."

Kaguya-chan stared at me deeply before snorting cutely.

Cute.

"Admin-san."

Just as I was about to start eating, I felt my shirt tugged. Looking to the source, I find Koneko-chan give me one of her blank cute stares.

"Eating without brushing your teeth is bad."

Aww, so cute. The way she said it, just like an obedient child would, made me smile. Something which is quite rare since smiling is too tiring for me.

Did you know a person uses about 43 different facial muscles to smile? So much energy a smile requires. And they say smiling is free of cost, heh.

"I already finished freshening up, Koneko-chan. Look."

I pointed to my clean face which sparkled like lustrous silver.

"Wow! Did your face just shine!? Did Admin-san's face just sparkle!?"

No need to be so excited, Kuroneko, it's a completely normal occurrence for a washed and cleaned and fresh face to sparkle you know?

Koneko-chan looked at my face curiously, poking my cheek several times, before nodding her head cutely and walking back to her seat.

Cute.

Our breakfast soon ended, with Kiba-kun joining us after he came back from his morning practice. As expected of you, Kiba-kun, even as a Devil who is supposed to hate mornings, you work so hard.

You're completely unlike the lazy me. Kiba-kun banzai.

"Let's go shopping!" Rias-chan suddenly shouted. "Many of you are from places without modern stuff, so I'm sure you'll find lots of things to your liking!"

"That's a splendid idea. I've been wanting to explore this place for a while now." (Irene)

"Right, we need money, right? Is there a good place to gamble? I can get us enough to last a year." (Tsunade)

"Tsunade-san, please don't. Although I'm very rich according to human standards, I'm afraid even the wealth of the Gremory house would run out." (Rias)

"Hey! What's that supposed to mean!? I'm very good at gambling you know!" (Tsunade)

"Fufufu~ If Tsunade-san wants to gamble, how about we make a bet?" (Akeno)

"…"

The girls got into their own talks as they started making plans for the whole day, which I'm sure would be for naught as they instead most of the day shopping.

Girls and shopping? Obviously, I'm not going anywhere near there that event which they would very likely prolong for a whole eternity if they could.

"Have fun. Don't stay out too late."

I waved my hand.

"Hey, why do I feel like you look like a parent seeing their child out to play?" (Mikoto)

I only continued waving my hand, not bothering to reply to Mikoto-chan's question. I have the feeling responding to it would only bring more trouble.

"Bye bye. And don't cause trouble."

"Bye~ And don't sleep the whole day Admin-san." (Rias)

The girls clearly didn't take my words to heart, though they did wave their hands back at me. Kiba-kun disappeared as unlike Rias-chan, Akeno-chan, and even Koneko-chan, who bunked classes, he went to school.

As expected of you Kiba-kun, you're a responsible student too.

I saw the girls out, though I noticed Kaguya-chan looking at me meaningfully. She also glanced at the books on the table, making me look at them too.

Ah, although I set them back in the same order, someone observant would be able to notice they were moved out of place huh? And I guess she also saw me studying the whole night, not that I wanted to hide it.

"Hmm, I'm alone again."

Actually I'm not. Looking at one of the doors, sealed with several seals and ropes and stuff that I couldn't make heads or tails of with my measly magical knowledge, I recall that a certain otaku trap vampire was probably inside.

Thinking of something, I walk to the door and knock.

"Gasper-kun right? Do you want to try coming out for a moment? There's no one outside."

Obviously, there was no response. Eh, I guess it's obvious. I mean, if a stranger suddenly knocked your door and asked out to come out and that the two of you were all alone in the building, who would come out?

Not to mention, I don't think he came even come out if he wanted to. These seals look like the real deal.

"Well, if you don't want to come outside, then send a mail to ******. We can play games sometime."

Honestly, I don't know why I did that. But I know how it feels to be the only one left out, even if said person wants to be left out. It's not a nice feeling, I tell you.

After saying my piece, I put my smartphone, a new one which Rias-chan had gotten for each of us as our old ones technically don't 'exist' in this world, next to me, before dwelling back into my studies.
