Sitting down in her new luxurious apartment the memories flooded through her mind like it was just yesterday.
Kyle , Bailey, heartbreak....that all seemed in the past now. Looking at the blank flat screen installed on the wall she realised just how fragile and still wet behind the ears she was back then.
Taking the teacup on the little stool to her right, she found herself looking at the warm brown liquid in the cup which was almost the same color as her skin , gently swirling it.
She could still remember the incident that finally broke them...

"Why does it always have to be her?! " Didi for the first time in forever spoke what was truly in her mind , a challenge in her already wet eyes , her voice cracking...
She wanted to be the perfect picture of rage but for people like her, anger liquefied into clear drops of salty water that fell from her eyes. She hated it.
"What does that mean? why do you have to be this way?...I've told you time and again, we are just friends" Kyle answered her getting annoyed at the tone of her voice.
"but....we're also friends..why can't she just get her own boyfriend!" Didi continued not willing to give up so easily after so much time spent mulling over things.
Kyle had planned a dinner-date which she appreciated and because of that she planned to solve the issue between them once and for all. This was not the first time they fought, they had had many arguments , especially about Bailey.
Kyle woke up to leave , tired by Didi's childish antiques.
He was trying to appease her but as that wasn't working he was going to leave. He didn't have much time for Bailey already texted him to hurry, he couldn't wait anymore.
"Here's the bill...I'll see you later okay?" Kyle said already leaving , not even waiting for a reply.
"you always choose her..." Didi muttered in a small voice, she saw the text messages. Her eyes became glossy ...maybe she was too needy ,jealous , insecure even given she had never seen them cheat... but that was all her...it was her.

From that day they just drifted apart...no more random kisses, less texts, little to no calls...they just lost ...themselves...their connection.
