He should be rejoicing at this moment, despite not knowing what kind of cards this new employee had under her sleeves to get Mrs. Wood not to come to work. No employee could dare to do that.
And that amazed him. It was amusing that he had such an employee that could stand up to Mrs. Wood. Even he was afraid he wouldn't, because Mrs. Wood had his mother as backbone.
But now, he didn't feel the joy he was supposed to. Not when the rage kept building in him.
Right now, he would rather have the cruel assistant giving him a pile of work and forcing him to go through thousands of documents while yelling threats at him.
This way, he would be able to distract himself. At least from the raging emotions inside him. He could distract himself with work and nothing else.
Going out and spending the rest of the day at some nightclub or bar, as tempting as it sounded, was the furthest thing from his mind.
