8 Conflict with the Royal Family

"They did what?" Rowan screamed as he kicked a chair in his chamber. "We weren't their match, Sir. They used some sort of dark magic!" The Waiter tried to explain by blaming Syntax for using black magic.

Abruptly, a man came running, bowed down to Rowan and whispered something in his ear. Rowan's face went from shock to angriness in a few seconds. Rowan looked at the Waiter, grabbed a chair and threw it at him. "Ahh!" Waiter hollered as he dodged the chair. "What did I do, Sir?" Waiter shouted. "You fucking idiot, you dare avoid my chair? The fucking man you fought was a god damn Otherworlder. You ruined our chance of a relationship with him, including my fucking son." Rowan slammed his hand on the table as he quickly ordered his personal guards to drag Royce here.

"What are you doing, you fucking servants? I was in the middle of a good time." Royce screamed as Rowan's personal guards threw him on the ground in front of his father. "Father, kill these fucks." Royce cried as he pointed at his father's personal guards. "Shut the fuck up!" Rowan shouted as he kicked Royce in his face, making do a summersault in the air and crash against the wall. "You god damn disappointment, you just had to become enemies with an otherworlder, did you?" Rowan calmed down and sat down on his high chair, he wasn't angry anymore but just disappointed.

"What? An otherworlder? Who?" Royce asked while holding his face with his hands as the pain wouldn't disappear anytime soon. "You know fucking who," Rowan said. "Syntax!?" Royce widened his eyes. "Yes, fucking Syntax and you know something else?" Rowan asked Royce in a condescending tone; Rowan was still in shock from that kick, so he shook his head. Rowan became a little bit annoyed when he saw his son not getting the obvious answer. "That means that by law, he is the fucking fiancee of Princess Alexandra," Royce shouted at Rowan. Rowan gasped from shock and shook his head, "This can't be, she was supposed to be mine." Rowan shouted. "Well, too fucking late now isn't it? You ruined your relationship with an otherworlder and lost your crush." Rowan stood up and looked at the Waiter, "Where is he now?".

"The spies are following him, and he is currently in a Pharmacy," Waite replied, "A Pharmacy, is someone in his group sick?" Rowan thought this was a perfect opportunity to repair their relationship with Syntax. "Get the best medicine from our storage and follow me!" Rowan ordered his guards as he prepared to meet up with the otherworlder for the first time.

"I demand the best splint for my Legatus Legionis!" Zero shouted as he slammed down his hand on the counter.

"I don't know what Legatus Legionis is, but no money means no splint." The Pharmacist said as he ignored the death stare of ten legionaries who were fully equipped with a gladius, scutum and segmentata. "I will burn the fucking store down." Zero roared.

"Relax, Zero. It's fine. I can just use the system one" Syntax said trying to calm down Zero. "Isn't there anything we can do?" Syntax asked the Pharmacist. "Pay up or get out." The Pharmacist decisively answered.

Syntax nodded and decided to use the system's splints, the splint from the system wasn't necessarily bad, but this was the Military System and not the Doctor System. Syntax spawned the splint, and with the help of Zero and another Legionary, he managed to put them on. The Pharmacist was shocked, did the splint just appeared from nowhere? He didn't have time to ask as the group left his store without buying anything.

Syntax with the help of Zero and a legionary he called Thomas helped him stand up for the first time since he got here. Syntax had to be held up to maintain balance, but after a few minutes, his muscles got used to it again, and he could barely stand on his own. "At least there is progress; now we must get out of this city." Syntax thought, with his War Strategy ability, he could sense that someone was following them. "Zero, move out and double time." Syntax ordered Zero as he nodded and started shouting orders for the legionaries to form a column with the aquilifer at the front and move up.

"Left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot," Zero said as he marched just behind the aquilifer, it was essential to be synchronized to create discipline and unity in the troop.

As the troops marched and Thomas helped me learn how to walk again, a carriage approached with about twenty guards equipped with the finest iron swords and new iron plates which were used as simple armour.

"Enemy attack! Shield wall!" Zero shouted as Legionaries formed a shield wall in front of Syntax with swiftness and precision. The legionaries took out their gladius and prepared for battle.

The carriage door opened, and a woman which Syntax knew well came out. "Syntax." Princess Alexandra smiled at him, "It has been just a few hours, and you have already made such a mess of the city. " Princess Alexandra laughed.

"Well, you know Alexandra." Syntax smiled, "I always hated spoiled shitheads."

"You can't be disrespectful to the princess!" One of the guards shouted as he drew his sword. "It's fine, thank you." Princess Alexandra calmed down the guard.

"I would like to invite you to a banquet Syntax." My father is very much interested in your otherwordly abilities." Princess Alexandra said already expecting to him to say yes, but how mistaken she was.

"No, thanks. Don't have the time." Syntax replied to the Princess. "Zero, let's go, they are friendly." Zero nodded and ordered the troops back to their marching formation.

"I insist, Syntax." Princess Alexandra said in a harsher tone this time.

"Or not, I don't have the time to be around you, fuck off, ok?" Syntax said, he never liked to be ordered around, and he knew that they just wanted to use him to their advantage.

"I wanted to do this the nice way, I really do, but you leave me no choice. Arrest him, guards!"

"Oh fuck, she has shown her true side." Syntax thought and smiled; she probably didn't know what transpired just half an hour ago, we will show her the power of my Legion.
