Wan An chuckled and quickly explained, "Yes, she wanted me to be her snitch. However, she underestimated me. For the Wan family, I can even forgo my own principles."
"Although I gave her the jade charm, she couldn't break the seal. So, the information about Mr. Liu is still safe."
Having given his excuse, he looked at Wan Wu with a pleading face. "Master Wan, please give me a chance to put things right."
"Now that Luo Xiaoman thinks I'm her snitch, we can make her pay for her malicious acts."
"Zitong, what do you think?" Wan Wu looked at Wan Zitong. He was not in a hurry to decide. Instead, he left it to her daughter to make the decision.
Wan Zitong stood up and walked toward Wan An slowly.
Her confident manner and alluring body figure gave off a threatening heroic spirit which was accentuated by the blue phoenix-patterned robe.
Although she was only a teenager, her composure and vigor were on par with most adults.
"Wan An, I believe you won't betray the Wan family," said Wan Zitong gently as she put on a smirk.
Wan An was very happy upon hearing her. "Of course, as a member of the Wan family, I'd die as a ghost of the Wan family as well."
Whoosh!
A cold light flashed.
Wan Zitong tightened her grip on the long sword. Wan An, on the other hand, was stunned and looked confused.
Soon after, his head slowly fell to the ground.
Wan Wu was shocked, as he looked at Wan Zitong in bewilderment. "Zitong, Wan An had caused the Wan family tremendous financial loss. Surely, we could have used him to our advantage to rip off Luo Xiaoman."
Wan Zitong shook her head and smiled. "Father, your view of the whole situation is too simple. This little brat from the Luo family isn't as naive as you think."
"If I'm not mistaken, her purpose of letting Wan An return was just to mislead us into thinking that she doesn't know anything about the new Crystal Vein Mine."
"What?" Wan Wu was shocked yet again. He asked, "Could it be she already knew about the new Crystal Vein Mine?"
"I think so."
"But, didn't she let Wan An back to be her snitch?"
"This is what she's good at." Wan Zitong squinted her eyes and continued in a low-pitch voice, "Wan An was noted for his loyalty. Why would she ask someone who's so loyal to be a snitch for her? Isn't it like asking him to sell his soul?"
"Perhaps, that kiddo even thought of using me to kill Wan An."
Wan Wu was stunned. His face showed amazement. If Wan Zitong was right, then he had totally underestimated Luo Xiaoman.
This smarty was way more crafty than he previously thought.
"Interesting." Wan Zitong smiled, and her eyes were full of excitement. "Perhaps, Luo Xiaoman would prove to be a good rival."
"Yawn…"
Luo Xiaoman yawned. She slowly opened her eyes and asked softly, "Yuan, where are we now?"
"The outskirts of Bai Luo Mountain."
Luo Xiaoman looked up and saw a majestic mountain in front of her. The lower part of the mountain was covered in green while its peak was snow-white.
She rubbed her nose and looked around. "Let's change our equipment. The Celestial Fruit is on the peak of Bai Luo Mountain. The temperature there is no joke."
Crunch!
Suddenly, one of the jade amulets on Luo Xiaoman's arms broke.
She removed the amulet which was broken in half. Her eyes turned dim.
"Huh, Wan An's dead."
