In the midst of nothingness, in an expanse where neither atoms nor photons graced, the calm was abruptly interrupted by countless bright, white lines flew through the void, disrupting the space.
These lines carried unimaginable energy, so bright and white that should a mortal be here to see, they would instantly go blind.
The lines all began to coalesce into one, coming together to form a bright white sphere which only got bigger and brighter as the lines poured their essence in.
It was a rapid process only a few seconds long, before there were no more lines but merely the sphere formed of their coalescence.
This sphere quickly took shape, into the form of a human, shining pure, overwhelming bright white. The light slowly calmed, until it was nothing more than a gentle glow. The creature rose its arms, getting used to the new body.
It quickly gave a few stretches, before standing tall, its large, muscular form that would be imposing were this a place with any other living being to see it. And from its featureless face, it began narrating to himself.
"Ah, together at last. It feels great to have my real body again, as fragmented as it still might be." Its deep, voice reverberated through the void, with a deep calm in its tone concealing the deep hatred and malice it felt. "Dante. I will strike you down. Destroy your race. Decorate humanities wonders with the gore of your filthy kind. For all your sins, thy punishment is death." With that spoken, he disappeared from that expanse of void, leaving it seemingly undisturbed, no traces left.
...
A young man walked along the sidewalk. He had pure white skin- a bit too white to be walking under the sun without sunscreen, yet he did so. Short, straight blond hair donned his head, and a pair of shining blue eyes graced his face.
And as he walked, he sang a song that entirely consisted of his own name. "Micheal?.... Micheal! Micheal, Micheal, Micheal Micheal Micheal Micheal Micheal! M I C H E A L! MICHEAL!" He let out a small chuckle at the absurdity. He had found that song on the net, and, occasionally he felt like singing it in a bit of ironic egoism.
Micheal paused, a thought popping up in his mind.
"They are late." Micheal stated, not quite knowing what to do, and then looking over to the entrance of the hotel he was staying at. He had just finished taking an entire walk around the area. There wasn't anything new out here for him yet except for more sun to burn his skin. It was time to be somewhere with shade and air conditioning, so he went back into the hotel. Though once was in, he checked his phone, first.
He frowned a bit. His friends were a bit late, no? He checked Chaos, his messaging app, to see if he had gotten an update yet. After all, his friends were supposed to have arrived at the hotel at around 1:30pm. It was already 2pm and no update.
Ding!
Nevermind, there was an update. His eyes scanned the newly received message.
"Micheal, apologies for our tardiness. You see, we got stuck in joe location."
Micheal's frown got a bit deeper? Joe location? What the hell was that? He was just about to type his response, when he took a step-
And fell through the floor, as if it didn't exist.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" Micheal immediately screeched out in pure terror. He was falling!? FALLING!? HOW!? WHERE!?
Pain. Despite not hitting anything, an intense pain suddenly wracked his body, as if every single cell was being distorted and tortured. Right now, he could truly say that he understood pain, that he knew pain. And after merely three seconds, his eyes went unfocused as he went limp and directly passed out.
...
A few minutes later.
Invisible to the naked eye, a creature materialized in that world. Floating in the skies, it was a giant sphere, with two wind-like triangles at each side. She sphere had a giant slit in it, opening up, revealing the eye. An eye with a big M on it.
"Strange...." The creature spoke to itself, confusedly as it moved at speeds impossible for the mortal human eye to follow, its giant eye gazing down at the world. "I can't sense it..."
It stopped, floating in mid-air, near the hotel Micheal disappeared at. It swiftly moved down to the floor, deep in thought. "I can sense... traces... but just that. The Micheal of this world is no longer present."
Its eyes widened, the M on its eye growing bigger and bolder. "ERROR 404: MICHEAL NOT FOUND."
The air began to tremble as the creature slowly turned red. Its eye quickly flashed an upside-down growing red pentagram. "W H Y I S T H E R E N O M I C H E A L?"
"U N A C C E P T A B L E."
And when the air seemed like it was about to shatter from the sheer force being exerted on it, it all stopped at once, with the creature letting out a small sigh. "Is a Dante messing with our plans? Ugh, I need to go find this Micheal."
With those final words, the creature disappeared, leaving no trace of its visit.
...
A sleek, purple car cruises down the street. The man inside had sharp eyes that peer out from the tinted windows, his gloved hands gripping the wheel with calm precision. A grin rested upon his face, wider than any sane man would have. In the passenger seat, A big muscular man with spiky blonde hair sat.
In the backseats were two men, one a very mexican man with a swirly moustache and a sombrero, and the other a medium-toned man whose deep dark eyes seemed like a portal to hell.
A smile on his eyes, and his grin slowly expanding, the driver started speaking, "Micheal didn't respond. We told him we were stuck in joe location but he didn't respond. Hehehehehaaaaaah!"
"And you know, he didn't respond, which means he didn't respond, which means, ahahahaha...."
His grin expanded to the maximum length a human face could, his eyes wide open as if he was high on drugs, "WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
"As we left Joe location, I realized Micheal's the only one with no response. And, without a response, he's L. And, that's why he's gonna lose. He's gonna get turned down, hahaha!"
The man in the passenger seat looked over, lightly scratching his spiky blonde hair in sheer confusion, "Ginberg, what the fuck are you talking about? Micheal probably just forgot to check his phone."
Ginberg looked over at the man and giggled a bit, "You wouldn't understand, Claw. And, hey, look! We're here!"
The man who just got called claw looked down at himself, stunned. "C-claw? Why am I being called Claw? My name is Gyro?"
Ginberg swiftly parked at the hotel, having arrived, and quickly made his way inside, alongside the rest of his group. "H M M M M!" He spoke, saying each word individually, then looking back at his friends. "Where is Mike-a-L?"
"Isn't that his phone?" The man with the darkened eyes spoke as he walked up ahead to where a lonely phone lay on the ground, with the same phone cover he remembered Micheal having.
"What the keys!?" Ginberg went over and looked down at the fallen phone. "By the dogs, Cereal, you're right!"
Cereal looked baffled, "He dropped his phone? How are we going to find him? Do we know what hotel room he booked?"
The Mexican man, who had been silent for now, walked up and gave his thoughts. "I'm afraid it might be a bit worse. I mean, it's a bit hard to drop your phone without noticing. The floor isn't even carpeted here, it would make a sound. Maybe he was kidnapped?"
"Kidnapped!? It's the middle of the day and we're in a hotel lobby room." Gyro countered, "What the hell are you theorizing?"
They all went quiet as they thought for a bit, before Ginberg broke the silence. "Dang."
He relaxed his body, and sighed, "I'm sad now. I have to find a new Micheal."
"W-what?" Cereal was the first one to react, "Ginberg, let's be a bit serious here. How are we finding Micheal?"
Ginberg reached out a small sphere out of his pocket, and spoke to himself, "Time travel device." He then extended his arms out, two bright, glowing neon circles appearing at the ends of both of his hands, "And my magic!"
"What the fuck!?" Everyone else collectively thought or said. What the hell was happening!? What was Ginberg doing!? Magic wasn't real!? What the illusion was this? What kind of elaborate skit!
"I'll hop through space and time!" Ginberg exclaimed as he smashed the orb into his magic circle, creating a giant runic circle appear, ripping open spacetime, and swallowing Ginberg whole.
"AAAAAAA" Ginberg yelled out as he was stretched through the portal, before finally falling onto dirt. Weakly, he wobbled his way back up to a standing position, looking at where he was. He was in a grassy field, and in the distance, the tall buildings of a city.
"Lore?"
