Chapter 3. Completing the Wedding

AUTHOR'S POV

Pragya was all at sea of her situation. She couldn't understand what was going on around her. The King jailed her for the misbehavior she showed to him. She was sitting on the floor, still wearing her beautiful red dress and white top wear, with her transparent bandanna. Her long and silky hair was banded to the back with a beautiful flowered hair band. Her big eyes are reddened due to her tears after witnessing the chopping off of the head of a prisoner.

She was still beautiful in this look yet she was an alien to these people. "My love, where are you? I know, you will come to save me," she murmured. Then someone said, "The king has arrived," everyone bowed down and worshiped their king. The King came directly to Pragya's cell.

"Who are you?" he directly asked.

"Sir, I am Pragya from Goa," she answered.

"There is no country which is called by that name. You are here to spy on us, right?" he said.

"What? Spy? No sir, I promise, I am not spying on anyone," she said in low voice.

"Tell me, why should I believe you?" the king asked.

"Look, sir, I am a simple girl. I am from Goa, Maharashtra. I don't know why and how am I here. I was supposed to be at my wedding ceremony with my family and my husband's family. If you don't believe me then give me a phone and let me call them,"

This time one of the soldiers said, "Your Majesty must not believe this girl. She is naming places that don't exist,"

Pragya argued with the soldier. "Give me a phone and let me call my family,"

"What are you even asking?" the king asked in an exhausted tone.

"A phone," she answered. "My family must be worried by now. Just one call, sir. Just let me inform them that I am safe," she added.

"What is a phone means in the first place? Your Majesty, she is wasting the precious time of Your Majesty. Let Your Majesty give the order to chop off her neck," said the soldier whom Pragya kicked in front of the king.

"No, no, no your honor, your president, I mean your Majesty, look I haven't planned my death soon. Look, I don't even know how am I here. I don't even know the name of this place. Try to understand my situation, sir" she said.

The King decided to hear her story. He had never seen this type of bold and beautiful as well as the confident girl in his life. "What do you say now" he gave her a chance to explain herself.

"Look, sir, My name is Pragya Singh Rathore. I am from India, Goa. I haven't planned to come here. Look I was at my house preparing for my wedding. My husband got late so, I opened a book and started reading but suddenly, some power from the book pulled me inside and I end up there. I have never imagined a place like this would exist in the 21st century," she concluded her explanation.

"Your Majesty shouldn't ignore a joke like this. She is making fool of us," that soldier said.

"Cheng Gu," the king called.

"Yes, Your Majesty," the soldier answered.

"Where is Vin Zhang? Call him," he gave the order. The soldier bowed and ran away from the jail.

PRAGYA'S POV

I don't understand why that soldier hates me. He is splitting hair in every statement of mine. What does he want from me? Or maybe it's because I embarrassed him before his king. I wonder why everyone in this palace sees me as insane.

Soon, that brat soldier came with an Oldman. What kind of King is he? Can't be ashamed of himself that he made that Oldman bowed to him? Oh, God! This is too much.

After the king figure and that old man discussed something I couldn't hear, the old man stared at me for minutes. I was confused about their deeds. What do they want from me?

After staring at me for about thirty minutes he bowed to the king figure and said, "Your Majesty is right. Even in Satavahana Dynasty, a woman like her doesn't exist," the old man said.

What? Did he just say Satavahana Dynasty? Who will understand me now? Who will believe me?

"Look, sir, I am from present India. Satavahana Dynasty declined 2321 years ago. Why are you two discussing the Satavahana Dynasty all of the sudden?" I interrupted them.

The King gave me a killing glance. No, no, not that one. He just saw me like, 'I will kill you,' so I shut my mouth and continued listening to their conversation.

"Mr. Vin Zhang, please do everything you think appropriate," he gave an order. And turned to me. He was looking serious and dangerous. Everyone, even a flying firefly, fears him. I wonder what he did he do to make them his devotees.

"What was your name," he asked me. I told him thousand times but now, look at him, he is pretending to forget my name.

"Pragya, Pragya Singh Rathore, sir," I said. I tried my very best to be polite. But never, ever, I will not bow down to him like these people.

"Look, Pragya, His Majesty is the king of the Qin dynasty. King Jing Zheng. As long as you are here, you have to obey and give the proper respect to His Majesty," the soldier said. I raised my eyebrows in amusement.

Should I bow down to his leg and worship him? Never. I will never do it.

"Mr. Solider, can you give one good reason that I should bow down for your king? As if he is my God!" I smirked.

Unexpected reaction from the king of Qin! He pulled my hair down, dragging me to himself. He neared me. He was making his way directly to my lips. I was fighting to get released from his hug.

He neared my ears and said, "Because I am the ruler here. You better not be ridiculous, or else I will chop off your head like the one you saw. Be a good girl," he patted my shoulder and returned to his first position.

He then called his loving soldier, " Cheng Gu,"

Cheng Gu came in front of him and bowed as usual. "Yes, Your Majesty," he said.

"Show her the room. Without the imperial doctor, no one is allowed to enter her room,"

What! Now he is the one who decides who to enter and leave my room. This King is too much,

AUTHOR'S POV

King Jing Zheng let Pragya out of jail after he realized that she was ill. She was ill for them indeed. He sent her to a private room.

Pragya was thinking that she was drugged by an unknown supernatural force and came here. Yet she hasn't found out that she traveled through time and she is currently in the medieval period of the Qin dynasty. 500 years back from her age. She was in 221B.C. in, the Qin dynasty.

The way she dressed the way she spoke and talked to the king, everything was insane for the king and his people. And Pragya was wondering how these people exist in the 21st century. But the truth was she was in 221 B.C.

When she got into her room, she heard the announcement. "Imperial Doctor Vin Zhang has arrived," immediately after the sound, the old man got in.

"My lady," he bowed down the way he did to the king.

Pragya freaked out. "Uncle, what are you doing," she held his shoulder and made him stand properly. "Uncle, I am not like that cruel king of yours. You don't need to do that," she said sweetly.

"My child, we are not related to each other. You don't need to call me uncle," the doctor said.

She smiled and held the old man's shoulder. She then talked, "My mom told me to respect my elders, unlike that king of yours," she said in anger.

"Look, my child, if you want to go out from this place alive, you have to obey His Majesty. He is a ruthless king. He has killed so many people to be in this position. So be careful," he said. There was fear on the doctor's face when he talked about king Jing Zheng.

"Uncle, I don't know how I got trapped in here. One day ago, I was in my house waiting for my husband. Today is my wedding. I have to be there. My family must be worried about me. There is neither phone nor wifi in here. How can I get out of here? Uncle you have to help me," she folded her hands and pleaded.

"Look, Pragya, I have no idea about the things you just said, but as your explanation, you are from another world. In whatever way you came here, you have just been here. There is no chance of getting out from this world," the Imperial doctor said.

Pragya got dumbfounded. "Look, doctor, uncle, I have to get out of here. I do not belong here. Please, if you are afraid of the king, you don't have to worry. You won't get into any trouble," she assured.

The Imperial doctor, Vin Zhang, shook his head and made a sad face, "I am sorry, Pragya, I have no the magic words to reverse it and turn you back to your world. My Lady, fate has brought you here. But, I promise you that I will try my best to find the words and get you back to your beloved ones. This is a promise I make to my lady," he knelt.

Pragya raised him and said, "Doctor, you don't have to do that. You could have been my father. I have to respect you, the way I respect my father. That's what I have learned from my parents," she holds the old doctor's hand and smiled like a cute child. She remembered that she was going to be a mother within seven months and held her stomach,

"Uncle, there is something I have to tell you," she said. The doctor nodded and she continued. "I and my husband were expecting a baby. I don't want to give birth to my child at this place. What should I do?"

The Imperial doctor was the only one whom Pragya had built a good relationship with so far. "I haven't heard this kind of thing. You are the only one who traveled through time. But as I have read from many books, you have to change a few things to be with us,"

"What do you mean?" Pragya was shocked clinching her stomach.

"Just like you can understand our language, maybe traveling to us, you might have miscarried your child,"

Pragya fell to the ground, she cried a lot. "Doctor Vin, I want to be alone. Can you leave me alone,"

"Sure, my lady," the doctor went out.

PRAGYA'S POV

I was so shocked by the doctor's words. I got a miscarriage. I was crying the whole night sounding Samrat's name and pleading for forgiveness. I remembered all my sweet times with Samrat. I was so sure that no one would separate us. Mehek tried her level best to separate us, but she couldn't. Now look at us, we are separated forever. Why should it be like this? Why does the almighty want us to pass through all this? And my baby? Why should he be punished? Who is at fault? Who is paying for those mistakes? My mind is full of my sweet moments with Samrat.

"Pragya, are you fine," Samrat said.

"I am fine, my love, don't worry about me. As long as you are with me, no one will hurt me," she said. It was after escaping from Mehek's goons.

"Sam, you were good at kicking off those goons, you have to teach me" she added.

"Don't worry, my little angel, I will teach you everything," he smiled at her. When he smiled she saw that he was wounded at the tip of his mouth.

"Sam, you have been wounded. Wait," she then tore the hem of her scarf and tried to clean the wound at his lips. But it turned out to be a passionate kiss, which made her breathless.

"Priya, you have to learn something before the self-defense," he said seeing her cunningly.

"What is it?" she asked innocently.

"I have to teach you how to breathe during our kisses," he chuckled and peck her lip with his. This continued to a make-out session in a warehouse in a forest.

...

I remembered our first night. Every time Mehek tried to separate us, on the contrary, our love would be stronger. But when I memorized my miscarriage I cried a lot. Why me, Lord? Why me, goddess? Why is this kept happening to me and Samrat?

I fell asleep on the floor, leaning towards the bed. The noisy voice of the announcer woke me up.

"The king has arrived,"

The door of my room opened and the king, King Jing Zheng, and his bodyguard got inside. Everyone in my room, except me, bowed down and greeted him.

He came directly to me and said, "don't you greet me,"

"Good morning, Your Honor," I greeted him normally.

"What about your actions?"

"Why? Why should I bow down to your feet? Are you my creator, my priest, or my family?" I said boldly. I hadn't even revived from the last night's shock.

"Be ready, get dressed and well prepared," he said,

"For what?" I felt nothing. I didn't expect the king to be this dump.

"You said that you have started a wedding in your world, haven't you? So I am thinking of finishing the incomplete wedding,"

My eyes got wider, "what did you say?" I wasn't sure if I mistook his words.

"Yes, Cheng Gu, make sure that every citizen attends my wedding ceremony with Lady Pragya,"

"Excuse me, you can't do this to me. You can't marry me without my will," I said.

The King neared my ears and let out, "If you are not willing to marry me, then forget it to get back to your world. I will make your life a living hell," he blackmailed me.

"Cheng Gu, tell all the neighboring states that I am throwing a big party. I will appoint her as the fourth Imperial concubine,"

What? I am his fourth wife and he is doing it publicly? What a shame!
