Chapter 7: THE SILVIAN PROTECTOR

"Did Father give you 'that' thing for safety?" Sarah asked in a serious tone.

"His Majesty indeed has given us the thing and told us to give it to you as you might need it soon as your fate isn't the best," Stephen replied politely.

"That old man surely knows how to talk mysteriously. He always talks about fate and when I ask about it, he just smiles and escapes from my clutches. One day I will catch him and skin him alive. Anyway, lemme check what that item is. Even though I have heard about it, I never saw it."

Stephen and Mary sighed as they heard His Majesty being called an 'old man' by his daughter. If it was anyone else, their head might be rolling on the ground or the skull might be used as a glass to serve good quality wine to esteemed guests. Serving wine in a skull was a sign of respect and importance.

Despite these thoughts, they didn't dare to show this to their face. Stephen told something in an unknown language which was clearly understood by both Mary and Sarah. After the chant was over, a black box came into his hand mysteriously out of thin air.

Nobody seemed to be surprised as they saw this. Stephen then handed over this black box to Sarah and told her to drop her blood in it. This was a safety precaution made by her father so that no one else could use or open it.

Sarah did as told and dropped a drop of blood. The black box absorbed the blood greedily and shone with a reddish-black light. Within a few seconds, this light faded down as a small coin appeared on Sarah's hand.

The coin was silver in color with a reddish border. On one side of the coin was a letter of an unknown language while on the other side were some symbols that were engraved it a specific order or manner. They were runic symbols!

From the runic symbols, it was evident that this coin isn't normal. This was definitely a priceless thing and had great use.

It was an artifact named {THE SILVIAN PROTECTOR}. This was one of the most priceless artifacts in the possession of Sarah's father. It was primarily a shield that could tank huge amounts of damage while this can also be an attacking artifact as a shadow soldier can be released from this coin(artifact). This soldier can attack even the Mechanical Nova Realm Mechs and have a chance of winning.

Sarah curiously looked at the coin-shaped artifact. No one would believe that this normal-looking coin was an artifact much less such a powerful one. After looking at it for some more time, Sarah waved her hands and the coin disappeared.

After the artifact thing was over, Sarah asked Stephen and Mary about their lives with Ryan's family. Both of them were happy with Ryan's parents as they cared for them kindly and looked after them.

After half an hour, the trio reached back to Ryan's house. Stephen and Mary went on to help their respective partners while Sarah went to Ryan's room.

"Oh Sarah, you are back? Nice! As per Dad, we have to go out tomorrow morning to Mech Association. There we must register ourselves to get the official ID."

[First time hearing about Mech Association. Well, from what you have said, it is like an association of Mech owners, and there you can accept missions, etc. Right?]

"Yeah, that's true. There would be a test there to test our bond."

[Since that's the case, I have a great place to train. Let's go there and you also don't need to worry about the time. One hour in here will be equal to ten hours there. So, are you ready?]

"I am always ready!"

After getting his confirmation, a light covered both Sarah and Ryan and they vanished from their place.

In an unknown place…..

Ryan and Sarah mysteriously appeared in this unknown place. Or more correctly, this place was unknown to Ryan and as for Sarah, well, you know.

The place was very silent. There was no sign of any living beings if we are to exclude grasses and trees.

[This is our new training place! Also, don't ask me about where is this place and what is it. You don't have enough Privilege!]

Ryan sighed helplessly as she again told about Privilege.

"Well, since you won't talk about it, let's get directly to the point and start the spar."

[Before that, lemme give you some movement techniques and some attack ones. You don't have them as it was supposed to be given by us, Mechs.]

Sarah said and she poked her finger at Ryan's head as she transferred the techniques to him.

Ryan felt a huge amount of information entered his brain. He closed his eyes and focused on the information. After he scanned through all the information about techniques, he was very eager to master them or at least use them.

Sarah chucked at his behavior and said.

[Since I have transferred the information to you, let's spar. I will use the same movement and other techniques that I sent you and watch carefully to learn.]

Ryan nodded and watched carefully at Sarah while she executed different techniques. He was surprised to see Sarah's mastery of the techniques and was somewhat envious. But he didn't let his envious thoughts get to his mind.

Sarah executed the techniques numerous times while Ryan watched them carefully. He didn't even blink as if he was afraid of slipping up even a single part.

After about five hours of repeating several techniques that she sent to Ryan, Sarah stopped and looked at Ryan who was in a trance-like state.

His eyes were open but, he wasn't in this world. He has attained enlightenment about several techniques.

Sarah was sure that Ryan was a monster genius. It wasn't easy to get enlightenment in a technique within a few hours. Normally, one would need at least a day for it and these people were even termed geniuses. While normal ones needed months.

Sarah didn't disturb Ryan in his trance state. She just looked at Ryan with curiosity thinking about what secrets were in his body that even he wasn't aware of.

After more than two hours, Ryan exited his trance and saw Sarah who was looking into his eyes and their face was just a few centimeters apart from each other. Their breaths tickled each other's skins.
