Chapter 36

Davien's P. O. V

Silvia's request was completely unheard of, some packs in the other districts would merge and go on hunts together, it was a strategy to strength bonds of allying packs. Or in some other cases a form of kinship between packs with mated Alphas.

But in this situation, Silverfang pack weren't our allies, nor was I mated to Silvia, so what was the point?

"I decline."

Silvia made an 'O' shape, "Don't decline so easily, at least not without hearing what I have to say first."

"I'm not interested in listening, Oliver you can show her out." My wolf still perceived Silvia as a threat to our mate's safety which didn't put my mind at ease.

"Kian, are you going to sit there and let your mate kick your big sister out?" She asked turning her attention to Kian. But I blocked her view of him by standing directly in front, my lips furled into a displeased frown.

She raised her hands in defeat, "I see you're very possessive of him," she pointed out slowly taking some steps back, "I hope you can keep that up until the very end." Silvia cryptically said, then turned around to leave.

Just as she was about to leave, Kian called out to her.

"Wait a moment."

She halted in her steps but didn't turn around, "Yes, Kian?"

"When you get back…tell them that they should get the documents I want ready." Kian announced with great difficulty, taking pauses in-between his words to catch his breath.

She glanced over her shoulder, "By them, do you mean our parents? Are you still on about that little bet? Can't you see that I've already won?"

I suddenly remembered the bet she was talking about, the one I had found out about at their estate, the one that had to do with Ceaser.

She turned around fully and folded her arms across her chest. "You lost little brother, which means you can stop playing hooky and come back home with me." Silvia said with added force in her voice.

Kian exhaled deeply, "I didn't lose."

"You're still denying it? Kian in case you didn't hear it, Ceaser already sold his land to me. Once again," she said smiling, "You lost to your big sister."

Kian parted his lips to defend himself, but I stepped into the conversation in his place, "He didn't lose to you Silvia so don't downplay him like that. And futhermore…" I lengthed my nails and bared my fangs.

"If you ever pull this shit again on him, I won't spare you…or your pack." I declared, focusing my attention on the woman, threatening her with the one thing that would land a blow on her pride as an Alpha.

She let out a sigh then said finally before leaving. "Don't fall too deep into his web, after all, my brother has always been a compulsive liar."

After that visit from Silvia, I got another earful from father over not having our packs hunt together. But that was nothing far from the usual. Following that, I was glued to my office with Oliver going through all the nitty gritty for the hunt. There were certain things we had ordered and were awaiting the shipment. One of those things being suppressants for Omegas. During the hunt, the potency of a wolf's phermones was at an all time high, and this affected most Omegas.

This effect had a stark resemblance to how an Alpha's rut affected Omegas. Hence, we needed to stock up on suppressants to help calm the Omegas.

Following that, I spearheaded the training for the hunt to the pups who had just recently found their wolves and would be participating in their first hunt. I trained them on how to hunt by taking them down with me to the woods, and explained the different hunting formations we used as a pack.

Since I didn't have a Luna, I also had to oversee the training of the she-wolves, making sure that they knew their position. During the hunt, the mated she-wolves stuck to their mates and hunted together. Whilst the umated ones would stick together and hunt in the middle of the formation, alongside the newly shifted wolves.

And most importantly, I had to assign some of the best warriors to stay back at the estate with the pups who were yet to shift and couldn't join in the hunt. It was one of the most important jobs, and only the most trusted of the pack could handle it.

The entire week I barely had time to step out of the packhouse, hence all my office work was sent to me via email, which I had to do all throughout the night into the next morning.

Due to how busy I was, I hadn't laid eyes on Kian the entire week. After Silvia had left that night, he called and told me that he had explained the plan to Oliver and had his help on executing it.

I didn't know to what extent Oliver was informed, or just what his role was. And neither did I want to ask him, if anything Kian should be the one to tell me that. Asking someone else about my mate was a blow to my pride I wasn't willing to take.

"Alpha, as per your request I've freed your schedule, you can take a rest." Gwendolyn said, standing at the door to my office at the packhouse.

"I told you Davien is fine when we're alone." I had asked Gwendolyn to come over with some paperwork I needed to look over.

"I'm not sure your fanclub would like that." She inserted as she walked into the room, I handed the document over to her, then unfastened my first two buttons.

"Fanclub?"

"Don't tell me you don't know there's a group of she-wolves willing to kill for you. I've gotten used to the death glares and know to stay out of their way. Still, it doesn't mean they don't irk the shit out of me." She said clutching the document to her chest.

"Tomorrow's the huge hunt, will you be hunting alone?" She asked for the upteenth time, making me wonder if she was reporting back to someone.

"I don't have a mate…" Kian's face immediately popped up in my mind, invading my thoughts for the seventh time, since the past hour.

"What about you? Are you going to be fine at Silverfang tomorrow?" I asked diverting the conversation from my issues.

"I would want to assure you that everything will be fine, but I'm not sure myself. Tyson has assured me that his pack will adore me, but I'm not certain they would welcome a rogue with open arms."

"You know you can opt out of it, no one is forcing you to do anything." I said softly, but the fire in her eyes wouldn't go dim.

"It's fine, I know their pack and ours don't have the best record but Tyson doesn't seem like a bad guy. He probably won't let me get hurt so don't worry."

She told me not to worry, but how could I not? The two people I frequently interacted with from that pack were Kian and Silvia, and honestly I had the faintest idea on how to classify them.

Kian had claimed he would seek revenge on his sister, and Silvia had called him a compulsive liar. My thoughts were scrambled, both siblings were shrouded in mystery.

My phone vibrated in my back pocket, I pulled it out and stared at my screen, it was a text from Oliver. I tapped on it and read through it.

Oliver: Kian is sick
