We stepped into the room, and just like I predicted, Keegan was already there, busied with a game of chess against Daniel, the pack's Gamma. Standing behind him massaging his shoulders was a young blonde she wolf, whose lips were lifted weakly to form a smile.
But I could tell from the nervous line of sweat running across her forehead and the way her lips quivered in fear, that she was petrified just standing next to him.
Our arrival didn't faze him, it was almost as though he had been expecting us. He moved a piece forward and in a relaxed tone he noted without taking his eyes off the game,"I take it you're Kian?"
Was this man serious? Kian was his son, there was no chance in hell he didn't even know how he looked like.
Silvia answered, "Father, this is the head of the grand council, Alpha Davien, and he says he's here to speak to you—" Silvia was saying, but Keegan's cold retort cut her off.
