Going To Visit The City

Evelyn stood at the same place for a long time. She was thinking that the prince would give her some work. However, a long time passed and he continued to look at the documents in his hands with a deep frown on his forehead.

A few moments later, she hesitated and asked

"Your Highness, thi…"

She paused as Regan raised his head and looked at her silently. It took her a moment to realize the meaning behind his stare and she immediately corrected herself.

"I mean I …May I help Your Highness with something?"

Regan nodded his head making Evelyn step forward immediately to do whatever he would assign to her. However, what he said next made her halt.

"Go and rest in your room."

Evelyn looked at Regan with a frown on her forehead this time. However, he had already lowered his head to look into his documents.

She shook her head as she felt conflicted…as well as frustrated.

"I can't do that."

She said honestly and Regan raised his head again to look at her. His face was emotionless as he raised his eyebrows and asked her

"You refuse?"

"I don't mean to."

Evelyn said immediately and explained herself.

"I am not used to of sitting idly and resting. I already slept last night. If I would go to have rest then I won't be able to sleep."

When she finished, she looked at Regan hoping he would understand her. However, seeing the prince looking at her calmly, she couldn't tell whether he understood her or not.

Evelyn felt helpless.

She couldn't go to the kitchen to help as well since he said that she was supposed to do only the works that he would assign to her. And now, he was also not giving her any work.

At that moment, the door of the chamber was knocked.

Without moving his eyes away from Evelyn, Regan allowed the person to step inside. Evelyn tried to avoid Regan's gaze and looked at the man who just stepped inside the room.

A tall and masculine man stood beside her and was looking at Regan with respect-filled eyes. He even had a smile on his lips as he said

"Your Highness, I came as soon as I came to know that Your Highness left."

Then as if he was aggrieved, he continued

"Your Highness should have at least left a message for me. I would have come with Your Highness only."

Regan finally looked at the man and said

"Elias…did you do what I assigned to you?"

Elias' eyes shone brightly as he remembered something, He took out the heavy pouch from his clothes and passed it to his master.

Somehow Evelyn felt that the pouch was familiar but then she thought that she must have been overthinking.

Regan calmly took the pouch from Elias.

After that, he put down the documents in his hands on the bed.

"We will go and visit the city."

Saying this, Regan walked towards the closet and picked some clothes from there. Evelyn was looking at Regan but when she saw him removing his upper clothes suddenly, she lowered her head swiftly.

Regan looked at her and lowered her head for a few moments seeing her actions and changed his upper clothes silently.

After he was ready, he hid a dagger in his clothes.

When Elias saw his master walking towards the doors, he followed him silently. However, Regan suddenly halted amidst his steps and turned around to look at Evelyn who was also looking at his back like a lost puppy.

He clicked his tongue as he asked her

"Why are you standing there? Come fast."

Evelyn blinked and then asked a moment later.

"Can I also follow?"

Even Elias looked at his master and then at Evelyn again in curiosity.

Regan shook his head as he said

"You are too slow."

Hearing these words, Evelyn immediately stepped forward and approached them. Seeing this, Regan turned around and continued walking.

A few moments later, Evelyn was walking inside the streets of Mazic city. She felt strange as she looked at the stalls and the people selling different kinds of things for the first time.

Till now in her life, she had seen only one kind of market and that was the slave market where alive people were traded and she had been one of those people.

She halted when she saw Regan pausing at one of the stalls. She was actually confused to see Regan dressed in the clothes of an ordinary citizen. However, she had a guess inside her heart when Regan stopped at the shop where different kind of grains was being sold and asked the shop owner about the price.

The shopowner looked at Regan whose face was covered with a mask and said with suspicion-filled eyes.

"One thousand Marks per bag."

Evelyn looked at Elias when she heard him gasp in surprise. From the looks of it, it seems that it was a very high price.

She looked at prince again who was looking at the shopowner.

Their attention was suddenly caught by the commotion created on the other side of the same shop where another minion of the shopowner was dealing with a customer.

"Throw him out!"

The shopowner shouted at his minion while pointing his finger at the customer. The customer turned around to look at the shop owner and said

"Mister, I don't mean to create any drama but that is such a high price for one bag."

The shopowner however looked indifferent as he said

"It is not my fault that you are poor and can't buy it. Go and look at other shops to see if the prices are different."

The customer looked helpless when he heard this. It could be said that he had already gone to other shops and checked it already.

His eyes turned slightly red as he raised his head and said

"Mister, can you please give me some floor and rice at a less price now? I will give more money you later. My house doesn't have any for now and my children are hungry."

The shop owner laughed when he heard this and shouted at his minion again to throw the man out.

The man was literally begging but no one paid attention to him.

Regan watched all this silently. After the man was taken out, he looked at the shopowner coldly and then turned around to leave while the shopowner shouted behind him to ask if he wanted to buy anything.
