Gravity Balls Maniac

**

[Red's POV]

Before I knew it, I was crushed as soon as the bell rang for the test to start. Plummeting my entire body down against the ground, bad enough that cracks start to form on the ground.

Thanks to the basic Mana Breathing techniques, I could regulate the flow of the Mana surrounding the spells. Dragging my body through the Fudo-Dachi Stance, I controlled my breathing and with Mana wrapped around my hands, it was a matter of moving Mana similar to how particles split.

However, before I could even finish dissipating the mana and spell, the man made his move. As if crushing me wasn't enough, the man proceeds to flex his strength, summoning more of the black ball and crushing all the path that leads to him.

The final straw happened when the man crushed me furthermore with another black ball on top of the one that is landing on me.

This made me pissed off.

I asked Ryong, "What spell is this?", annoyed that another one crushed me. My legs were wobbly from this standing against it.

[Gravity ball. Pretty advanced spell and he managed to summon it like nothing.]

"So now what?"

[*Master can dissipate the spell by throwing out the same output.*]

"So like 1=1 theory?"

[Yes.]

Understanding the theory behind it immediately, I tried recalling any spell I can use to use against this stupid ball.

"Blue dragged out all the list of Magic Spells I can use now."

A window of a list appeared in my eyes as it shows a list of spells I could use currently.

What intrigued me the most were the two spells I had seen before.

[Absolute Defence] + [Water Shield] --> (Mimicry)

[Thunder Bomb] --> (Mimicry)

"Didn't the usage already expire for these 2 spells?", I asked Blue while still holding my ground.

[*Due to your Mimicry level increasing, the maximum usage of a particular has increased to 5 times. Furthermore, after using said particular skill 5 times, it will be registered permanently as your skill.*]

It's a cheat. Thank you to whoever provided me with this cheat, now I don't have to be a piñata for my opponent or enemy.

Without hesitation, I launched, [Thunder Bomb] against the [Gravity ball].

The output though may have been higher than expected, because once it collided, it vaporized the rest of the Gravity ball that was lined up.

It took everyone by surprise with the mumbling made by the audience, even the deputy head but he kept his composure.

But that doesn't mean anything because it was my turn to attack.

Summoning Stix, I grabbed onto the spear and flung it as hard as I can. It flew a great distance aiming at the deputy's head. However, he calmly blocked it with his spell.

[Magic Shield]

Defensive spell

A basic spell that is hard to master. Once mastered, can block against almost any attack and depending on the User, can even expand or shrink by will.

Magic Requirement: 1st Magic Circle

Mana Consumption: Low

With a magic shield that's as small as the size of a plate, he managed to stop it with extreme precision.

"Another monster shit."

I appeared straight for him with Naga, hoping to catch him off guard, jumping forward and swinging the Kris downwards.

Pouring the weapon with Mana and Aura, the blade extended out of nowhere and smashed the ground while the deputy head dodged it close to no effort.

But as he was distracted, I tried grabbing Stix with my left hand...only to be trapped by another gravity ball.

This time the Gravity ball was placed in mid-air and wouldn't budge, trapping my left hand like a handcuff.

From there, he approached within arm's length and whispered: [Vortex wave]

Right at the tip of the deputy head's wand, the air started spiraling rapidly at such a quick pace that it was hard for people from outside to see anything abnormal happening. But Red's intuition was warning him that whatever he had just cast, it was really bad that he could feel the mana in the atmosphere being disruptive. Instinctively, he summoned Fang in its greatsword form and stabbed the ground. With his left hand still stuck in mid-air, he pushed his body against the flat surface of the greatsword and braced himself for whatever was about to come.

*Whoosh*

An intense gust of wind started spiraling at one point that formed a tornado that burst right towards Fang and exploded on impact.

Though Fang absorbed most of the damage, his hand was in the strike zone of the spell, cutting and tearing his hand in the process. His arm came out bloodied and damaged. Thankfully, [Recover] was a skill that activated by itself.

"Awakeners always did have a trump cut up their sleeve.", Edmund said before pulling his wand back, dragging Red's arm towards him.

However, it was not a concern for Red.

He just needed something filled with Mana so that he could break the [Gravity Ball].

Still holding onto Fang, he dragged the Greatsword across the ground to slow down moving to Edmund while continuously supplying the sword with Mana.

"Here's another one for you," was what Edmund said when the range between was in range for his other spell. A spear of ice appeared and pointed at Red in his face.

As Edmund swings his wand downwards, the ice flew to aim at its target. Red, on the other hand, already had enough Mana stored in the sword.

He changed the weapon to dagger form and slice the Ice Spear in half perfectly. The blade of the dagger was also engulfed in flames which made it easier.

He then proceeds to slice the [Gravity Ball] attached to his left hand in half and releases himself, immediately keeping a distance away from Edmund.

Releasing Fang back to his original form, he grips the sword tightly as he prepared to launch his counter-attack.

[Fang]

Type: Ego Growth Weapon (Sword)

Attack Power: Increase Strength by 2 Lv.

Growth-rate Synchronisation: 7%

• An Ego Growth Weapon. A Weapon that gained a soul on its own. The weapon grows stronger as the Owner gets stronger. How the weapon performs depends on the synchronization between the user and the weapon.

• Weapon increases damage, the more strikes it lands on the target.

• Fire Damage will be inflicted on the Target when charged with Mana

• Weapon can change form: Dagger, Sword, and Great-Sword.

• The Sword was created by a long-forgotten blacksmith during old age. It was chained up in shackles and when found, the weapon has been passed around to different users. It will not unleash its full potential for those it deemed not worthy.

• The Sword is starting to be comfortable around your hands. The weapon's ability is starting to shine slowly as it recognizes its new owner.

Now It was fair game. He raised the sword upwards and started swinging it oddly and differently.

To the rest of the audience, it looks like a random unnecessary movement that might make Red look like an idiot. Even Irene who was placing close attention to the match finds Red's action odd.

Edmund, the Deputy Head, on the other hand, starts to be on his guard and wary of Red. He knew whatever coming was going to be a little more interesting.
